If you start storming off in the expectation that you will get a storm card, you will never get a storm card.
Or you just start counting with 0 storm cards. Did it once with an izzet deck cause someone wouldn't stop accusing me of having storm cards
@@CoiledMTG This is the true way to play politics when you're Izzet. Whether they think you do, or you don't, make sure they think they're right.
In my group someone always start to count just to see if the person will stop casting a boat load of spells in fear of a opponent storming off

I think as a player he was doing that to fake what he was doing. Expecting some end game that can be countered/responded to, but he just wanted to play and build a board state. 😂😂😂

I like to randomly track storm count.
I do that every game. It took till about a month ago for my friends to realize... I never have storm... maybe doing that while playing the "hobbit" precon was flying too close to the sun lol

I do it at draft night sometimes when I play a 2 mana creature turn 2. "Storm count is 1. Pass the turn"
I recently started playing an Izzet Spellslinger And Everytime I said "I Might need to start counting Storm" I get very worried looks from the table.
This is actually such a good angle because people just hold up their counters for the storm card
Bad idea, only a few specific counters can deal with storm cards though.

@@SuhrvivorStifle or any other triggered ability counters kill Storm. There's also anything that exiles the whole stack (mostly End the Turn stuff, but still). Rare, but they exist and ppl sometimes play them.

@@researchinbreeder Flusterstorm specifically exists to counter an entire storm, and it's one of the most commonly played counterspells.

I was sure I remembered one making 4/4 beasts from the OG Scourge where storm first from. Also Modern Horizons 2 has 1/1 squirrel storm and ooze storm. Only other green storm cards gain 3 life from modern horizon 1 and another that searches for a basics from Scrouge too.

I do that in izzet. I dont run a singke sotrm card. It is just finny to make them worry. They don't wantto up the storm count so they don't counter things.
This was a great episode. Sometimes i get annoyed by Crim but it was nice seeing him get so excited using this deck.

😂 I did a similar thing to my friends. But my reason for doing a storm bluff was to allow all my spells through. My buddy forgot I had already seen his hand on a previous turn and I knew he had a Mindbreak Trap in hand. He was anticipating to get rid of the entirety of the stacked storm spells.

Storming off without a storm payoff in hand is one of the harshest ways to find out probability doesn't like you on a personal vendetta level.
