Please keep the wood paneling wood!! At least for a little while. You can’t I paint it (easily) and you might end up loving it. I think that room is so rich and cozy❤
Congratulations Emily. I am so happy for you. You deserve this beautiful home and I know you will make it even more beautiful!!!
Your new house is adorable! I would leave the closed cabinets above the washer & dryer. A laundry room and litterbox room will create a lot of lint/dust. I love your breakfast bar in the kitchen! ❤
If I were you I’d leave that door connecting the nursery for when you have kids. It would be very convenient!
omg I would give anything for that wood paneling!! 😭I just saved like 20 inspo images on Pinterest because I've been craving that 70's vibe and they allll have wood paneling. I actually clicked on this video because I saw it in the thumbnail and now I'm crossing my fingers you don't paint it 😂 but I'm going to subscribe to see what happens! It's such a beautiful home with so much character! Congrats! 🥳
Thanks so much!! I will not be going for a 70's vibe in that room, but more of a 1940's California cabin vibe. Hope you'll still love it!
Good luck in your new home. I really like layout of your kitchen. Amazing amount of space 🏫
Congratulations on your new home - it is adorable!
That “dining room “ would have been called a breakfast nook in the late 50’s, early 60’s. Back then, we had huge whole rooms that were formal dining rooms.
@@beachbumetta I wish! Formal dining rooms aren’t as common in medium sized homes in the Los Angeles area :/
If I am correct.. that tin drawer in the kitchen might actually be a flour bin. That is why it has a curved side by the opening so you can scoop up with a cup of flour on your baking area , hence the wood counter tops and plugs for mixers and etc.
I think you're right!! Thanks so much for sharing! Very cool!
@@EmilyPertzborn can’t wait to follow your home makeover journey.
I would add a plain mirror with beveled edges (maybe one with a decorative cut around the edges depending on how much you wanna lean in) on top of the smoked mirrors for an actual functional mirror above the sink.
@@lcatt6940 good idea!
Congratulations!!!
Omg, that bathroom-🤩 those mirrors & light!!!! And the kitchen is adorable! Can't wait to see how you enhance it all!!
Thank you!!!! Very excited for those rooms specifically ❤
Glad you popped up in my feed! You got a gem! I have popcorn ceilings in a condo in FL. We decided to leave it because we never look up. Master baths in the 50s, 60s, and 70s were smaller. People were very excited to have one. I am so surprised the house was never updated with central air. The Chanel bag is gorgeous. I love drinking tea in fall and winter.
Congratulations! Can't wait to see the transformation.
Regarding the cigarette smell, you should try placing it in the freezer.
I purchased a handbag from someone on marketplace and they forgot to mention the cigar smell it came with.🙄 I stuffed the handbag to maintain its shape and placed it in a plastic bag in the freezer.
I left it there for maybe 24 to 48 hrs and the smell disappeared.
I also tried it on a couple of barbies and it worked like a charm. Oh and I then sprayed febreeze's odor fighting spray to make sure the smell wouldn't come back 😊.
The items I tried the freezer method on were not leather ( the handbag only had leather handles and the trim) but I think leather would be less of a hassle. Hope it helps!
Ooo thanks! I’ll try that!
I don’t always comment , I’m new to your channel , but congratulations ! I do remember that paneling when I was a kid in 70’s ! Not in my parents house , but I’m my friends home !
Thank you so much! Glad you’re here!
I would recommend two options: (1) Take it to a leather cleaner and/or (2) Leave it hanging outside in the sun for a day
ahhh this felt like one of your old vlogs (which i had missed terribly)!!! i had a horrible week but this somehow made me feel like things may pick up one day. you seem like such a cool person and i'm so happy for you--i cannot wait to see all that pink tile in your new home!!
@@gothdad94 thank you so much! I hope your week turns around!!
What an awesome house! 😊
Thank you! 😊
Removing that heater? Why? Those through the wall heaters heat both the hallway behind and the front room.
So great.
Love your vintage kitchen!!! ❤
@@robinbirdj743 unfortunately it’s a safety hazard for our 3 cats who would definitely lay on top :/ We will be upgrading to central heat. Thank you!!
Darling home!! I'd pull out that island thing in the kitchen, along with the hanging cupboard. It would open up the space and make it more comfortable.
Put your leather coat into a plastic bag with an open container of activated charcoal, it has incredible absorbtive powers- just use care as the charcoal is powdery and you do not want to get it on anything. Best of luck.
Thanks so much! I'll definitely try that!!
Awww! I got so excited when you mentioned the nursery 🥰 can't wait to see it all
❤❤❤
I am so excited to see what this house is going to look like with your decor. You have so many vintage pieces that I love. The home looks in good condition. Most of all glad you are back. You and I believe mod girl were my favorites.
Thank you!! So glad to be back ❤️
What a beautiful home ❤. Congratulations! So great that your keeping everything, about the house, that makes it charming ❤ ❤t
@@kimhoney9052 thank you so much! I love that it has been untouched ❤️
YAY!! Cannot wait to see the transformation!!
Same!! 😂
Oh and turn it inside out also
I'm so happy for you! 😊
@@Amid.the.flowers thank you so much! ❤️
Baking SODA and sunlight outside
@@dawnpiperglos4634 yes, that’s what I meant 😂 haha thanks!
beautiful house but i would go so crazy not having a dedicated entry room in my home!! i have no idea why the standard in america is for the front door to open directly into the living room rather than there being a vestibule of some sort first? i'm from sweden and most houses are set up with there being a hallway that has doors to the kitchen, living room and then the staircase is usually by the door as well!
First, Emily, please dress up as Meghan Markle for Halloween. You look a lot like her. Secondly, don't remove the wall paneling, just get some Birch wood liiking wall paper and carefull cover the paneling with it, incorporating the lines then maybe paint the fireplace white.
Please don’t insult Emily by telling her she looks like Meghan Markle!!! The worst person in the world. If you disagree, then I suggest you do your homework??? Emily is a loving and honest human being. Meghan Markle is opposite!!!
@@lindayerman8755 I know all about Meghan Markle-s antics which is why I thought it would be a great infamous costume for Halloween.
