Every word he sings--he FEELS--every note he plays he FEELS--and so do I ! He was the TRUE BLUES ! He is knockin' them dead in BLUES Heaven ! Such an INSPIRATION !!
If we had to explain what Texas Blues sounds like I guess we have no better examples than Freddie King, Johnny Copeland, SRV and Albert Collins. It just lifts you up.
Oh Man...Johnny was and still is my favorite bluesman....Saw him twice in small venues...One hot and heavy and one just before he died...Low and slow...God Bless You Johnny
paying my respect by visiting again. actually i NEEDED to listen to this right now again. ...ok healing in progress..... back to business... thanks again copeland.
"Thanks, Clyde"...says it all. That gave me goose bumps. I had the pleasure & honor of getting to know the Copeland family a little bit...my late/great boyfriend was Floyd Phillips/Johnny's close friend & keyboardist for many years. Thank you so much for posting this. Being able to see & replay these gems...are gifts to us all.
Wow, I see and hear him for the first time but a shiver ran down my spine. I totally agree with you, BarbButler, Quote: Being able to see & replay these gems...are gifts to us all. To bad I cant experience him live anymore. I love the slomotion parts.

I toured the West Coast and over into Tuscon & Phoenix with Johnny 'Clyde' back 1988, This video brings back memories. Thanks for sharing.
Fuck..... My soul feels so much right now.
I liked him too. One thing that he left behind was his daughter. She doesn't play guitar, but THAT GIRL CAN SING! She's inherited her father's soul
Thanks for posting this, man I've been looking for more footage on him since I watched another video on him which featured him and SRV in Moutreaux

What a great guy he was...! His & Bobby Bland's voice were the best...ever!! R.I.P. my man.
Freddie King's voice wasn't bad either :) The Blues Never Dies.
one of those places that would be super crowded if we could go back in time...
