now you can tap strafe again using controller
this is a guide on how to setup your own layout
for tap strafe using steam config

now you can tap strafe again with there new config.

"This is the best config so far"
(layout guide)
1- you start with controller layout with fully working aim assist.
2- to switch to mnk layout to tap strafe you need to press liftstick click once.
3- tap strafe and move like you used to with neo strafing too holding left stick click.
4- you can hip fire too while neo strafing.
5- to switch back to controller layout you need to press left trigger - you can start shooting immediately with Aim Assist.
6- another shortcuts you need to know about:
-dpad down to super glide
dpad left to zoom in and out (long press to change from auto to single, you need to bind it to B in game, double press to use heat shield).
dpad right hold to spin heirloom (double press to use grenade - bind grenade to V in game).
Right stick click to use ping wheel (double press to melee- bind melee to 3 in game).

last But not least im using action set loot profile and looting with left and right triggers to remove that just go the left down corner to action set and remove looting profile.

There is a default layout in my previouse video
Check it out to have an idea what to change is this new layout.
For the upgrade i didnt bother to add a modeshift or bind for it. Im opening my inventory and press it with cursor

Change back all the binds in the first layout to normal A=A
And in the second layer mnk layer switch between binds to slide and jump
The mnk layer wont effect the looting
Also in the active set options delete the looting profile.

For ppl who dont understand steam configuration action sets, when you use action sets there will always be a slight delay to changing from controller to MnK layout upon activation. Meaning AA will also be delayed, not turned off. (The delay is about 1sec or half a sec.) So if youre feeling something is a bit wonky, that's why. Otherwise this is the only way to ts.
Yes! Thanks for taking the time to do this so in depth. I had one setting with interruptible not on and the on release action set switch is super smart. Working great now 🤘

Tap strafe allowing you to change direction mid air
If you are running forward hold the activation button lets for the tap strafe lets say right bumper and move the left stick to the right. The character will lurch mid air to the right.
To neo strafing whole running hold tap strafe keybind with crouch button and start spinning your leftstick in a circle.
Rear buttons usually used to slide and jump cause they are easier to press while moving
Great I was setting up my controller ( trigger feel,etc) and was getting a feel for rear buttons . Switched jump and crouch once to see what I like better. I am going to play a little before I setup using your video.

as the looting is kinda inconvenice and kinda slow, ive tried to make a new action set with complete default controller setting and have use global action binding to change it to the setting when cursor appear, however, TS has lost and still not able to loot.
Would you mind make a setting that can keep both the Controller with Controller:MNK2 setting while able to loot with default roller setting? Appreciated!

You need to switch profile for aim assist to work
If you use manual switch yes you do.
You can use auto profile switch when aiming.
Im testing new way to use layers insted of profiles to change some binds to controller when shooting.
If i get it right. Im making a video about it
For now im using auto profile switch using left trigger.
So i can neo strafe and shoot.
But AA works just while aiming and not hipfiring

The game will block the tap strafe for 0.5 after any controller input.
So if you are using controller profile and switching to mnk to tap strafe. There will be a delay for 0.5

I’ve bind to joystick click, and Ts only work sometimes
Ts should work continuously without any kind of lag. Check if you have any thing binds to leftstick click that might interface ewith the tap stafe

i am using back paddle, there is no probem when pressing TS (l3) alone, but when it comes to slide and TS, it just stop working for no reason
have tested for like 5hrs and still couldnt figure out why

Im getting error: this controller is not using steam input
Try checking the box in the slide button settings to interruptable.
Or maybe add a slide button to the tap strafe in the leftbstick mode shift

Settings are great, but I have noticed that while shooting there’s a bit of a delay. I’ll end up just standing there getting killed, also the beginning of shooting your gun I noticed that the sens is very high. Is there something that I’m not doing on my part? The tap strafe, neo strafe and super glide is super op tho!
A delay in firing or what exactly?
For the sens tou can try adjusting the joystick mouse sens from 800 to 650, 700
Im working on new layout the default layout will be controller with aim assist and holding the tap strafe button will switch profiles to mnk profile to be able to tapstrafe and neo strafing
@@BreaksyOG yeah it’s hard to explain, basically like while I’m shooting my gun it’ll just stop mid gun fight or sometimes when Im about to shoot my gun it doesn’t at all

@@BreaksyOG I haven’t tried single fire. But sometimes it’ll stop ads when I shoot the wingman.
This guide is awesome, i am able to tap strafe again i just have one issue, whenver i am in the keyboard mode i can not shoot or aim my guns
I set left trigger when in mnk profile to switch back to controller profile
But hipfire should still works though
@@BreaksyOG I figured it out, it was because I have trigger stoppers so I had to set it to soft trigger

I used to be able to tap strafe using my down arrow on my game pad( i am using a wolverine tournament edition controller so i binded the down arrow to the extra button on the left of the right bumper, but steam does not have the option for game pad arrows what do i do ?
What do you mean by steam does not have the option dor game pad arrows?
@@BreaksyOG on the mode shift bind, there are no options for the down arrow, there are only bumpers and triggers, the stick push-down and the AXYB buttons

Yo can u show us the keyboard binds?
This is hella confusing with a custom layout. All i want is the normal tapstrafe key (where you press W with mouse wheel) to change directions. Not bothered about the neostrafing/bhop etc. i usually use my left analog stick click for it.
you cant tap strafe like you used to without using mnk binds for all the layout three weaksnago respawn removed it
Thats why we did two profile and switch between them.
If it was a normal tap strafe with only W like it used to be i wont bothered making video. There is a bunch of tutorials on youtube.
My left stick click doesn’t work. It enables gyro for Xbox controller ie, the mouse as analog but it takes away my jump buttons and my paddles that are setup for superglides

Is this not bannable on apex legends.. i thot they took configs out of the game.. this looks like configs to me. I just dont wonna use this and lose all my progress on my account. Im trying to use my new flydigi apex 4 controller and remap all my buttons to keyboard and mouse but idk if it will be detected by easy anti cheat in apex legends
Easy anti cheat is a joke 😂😂. It cant detect even aimbots.
Anything you do through steam is not bannable
Im using it and this is my main account with 4 heirlooms
I used aimbot and got banned immediately. EAC works just fine, trust me
@@ryanvanwinkle5702 im not sure what kind of hack did you use. But trust me certain hacks will make it look legit and you will never get cought by EAC unless you use rage aimbot settings and get multiple reports.

This looks like it'll function... however for some reason with directional pad wasd i can move forwards backwards or right but not left... anyone else have this issue?
Go to leftstick mode shift and hit settings on A and D to check what went wrong in the settings for A button.
Also check out the latest tap strafe video. It has much better tap strafe configs.
Yo I have tap strafe on l3 but everytime I shoot I have to press a or sum to start tap strafing again

@@BreaksyOG just figured it out. Since im on a ps4 controller it shows two profiles for layouts in steam. Just had to change both. I guess It was only applying to one after a PC restart.

Once I did this I couldn’t get my controller to work when I opened up apex idk why so I had to disable the steam input
It might be something with steam controller settings.
Happend to me once had to restart steam for the controller to work again

You can bind the activation keybind to tapstrafe to what ever you like
For me A button shows has X and Y has X in steam controller it not changing how to recover 😭

I got I on Fallout 4 and some of the games on steam the layout for the menu button doesn't work how do I go about that
This config for apex only. Did you use it for other games,?
If not. What is the problem exactly. Do you need help setting up a bind for menu for other games?
I try to bind for the menu button so I can use my menu to save my game or I miss a stepped on that but when I play the game and I pushed the button for the menu the game exit out of the game and I can't do a loading save
When you press esc in keyboard does the game exit out too. Or just when using the controller
Try to Bind the menu button on controller to keyboard button that opens up the menu in game ESC i think.
Also you might have desktop input layout that interface with controller layout
To disable it- navigate to steam- settings - controller- desktop input and remove every thing in it.
Also make sure that the game you are playing supports steam input.

Or go to action set in the left side of steam controller overlay
Hit global set options
Set it to controller when cursor showing
So when you open the deathbox it switch to controller layout and you can loot like you used to

Yh I made a layout like this which switches between mnk and roller inputs check my latest video, however it's pointless having to switch all the time, there also is a 0.5s delay between the switches so you can't really utilize it properly and quickly,
Its better than nothing, with my config there is no delay while switching back and forth between layouts but there is indeed a delay for the AA to start tracking. It is from game side we cant do nothing about that. for me personally i dont count on AA for first couple of shots so the delay didnt bother me that much.

@@suplex3067 it is possible. But why would you do such a thing.
You wont be able to track targets in fast paced without AA. Because when using right stick as a mouse you will get constant speed no matter you are moving your finger fast or slow. Unlike the mouse the faster you move it the faster it moves in game.

Apply the config
Go to left trigger
Remove action set bind by left trigger
Bind left trigger to left mouse click.
This way it wont change profiles and you will be stuck in mnk profile.

You need to set liftstick modeshift activation button to your jump button. Tap strafe works only in mnk profile.
