I Try A Wetherspoons Hotel! đczcams.com/video/Khp1UZIv14E/video.html
6:28 that would be a *_light_* :)
well me and Jess like spending a week at british seaside resorts over the summer time, when we decide where to go then we will see if weatherspoons has a hotel there. Thank you Timđ
ive stayed in some wetherspoons hotels, good value for money, especially during summer school holidays
I think fridges in rooms are convenient and welcome. Milk, wine & beer etc can be stored in them. They are also useful for people who need to refrigerate medication.
Agreed! The need for a fresh cold water
As long as they are quiet. I've unplugged a few in the past!
When I was in Glasgow mine had a complimentary bottle of water inside. Maybe they ran out?
So long as they are the silent thermoelectric ones and not ones with a compressor switching on and off which wakes you up!
@@TheNeilsolaris I'm the same. They do thermoelectric ones which don't use a compressor which are silent. But some hotels have noisy compressor ones in which is very irritating if I forget ear plugs
The best thing about Premier Inn is how clean it is Iâve never been to an unclean premier inn before. I love the breakfast there as well.
âšAs someone who works at Premier Inn I wanted to give my professional opinion
First, yes there should have been two bottles of water in that fridge⊠I donât know why it wasnât there and Iâm so sorry for that
On overall that room doesnât reflect actual standard as this room is done wrong in so many ways, including the bed which is horrible and not up to brand standards
Also the kettle in that room is wrong and there is another kettle used in that room that is bigger and better
Plus, there are smaller pillows in that bag with extra pillows
About chocolates - you can always go back to reception or catch a housekeeper and ask fo more chocolates and tees (even if you are not staying in plus room đ)
In general, you had every right to ask for your money back as I look at that room, the bed shocked me tbh. And as you come in the bedside lamps should have been turned on the pillows that should have been a lot more neat with light in the room turned off
You were also given a wrong key card, thereâs another one for plus rooms that is themed for those rooms
And not all premier inns have the sign about illegal substances, it might be a thing in London, doesnât say anything about the whole brand
Agreed
How would you go about getting a refund on a room not up to scratch?
Its not possible for refund on this room as there was little wrong with it. If it was bad Tim who is professional would have asked for a refund.
@@peternelson6142 Premier Inn have a money back guarantee if you don't get a good night's sleep, and they are very good about refunds. I've had to claim twice due to wedding parties running noisily up and down the corridor in early hours of the morning. Usually I find the Premier Inn beds excellent and really comfortable. And the housekeeping is always very good.
I think Premier Inn is pretty good. I like the standardisation knowing that the room should be clean, functional and comfortable, which is all I usually need. But it's nice to have a few extras. Thanks for checking out the upgraded rooms, Tim!
you are welcome thanks for watching Nellie
Yea so I used to work in hotels and ngl most of that room wonât get cleaned the bedding gets changed and thatâs it ohh and the toilet paper also the cups and mugs in the room will be the same for everyone meaning everyone who has used those mugs havenât been cleaned properly they are just washed in the sick with no chemicals and a quick rinse
We use Premier Inn so 're time when visiting family around the country.
We had to book a premier plus room just before Christmas because it was all that was available. It was nice, but TBH, I wouldn't book again if a standard room was available - we only want somewhere clean to sleep and have breakfast before leaving for the day - so, for me, the extra money isn't worth it.
Premier Inn and the like are brilliant if you're disabled. You know the hotels will be accessible and the accessible rooms are usually spacious and easy to get around.
its the mcdonalds of hotels, always decent but never amazing but no matter which one you go to you are guaranteed it'll be pretty much the same
as they have a fridge in the room, then a nice touch would have been fresh milk for your tea and coffee
The "Bedside table" at 4:26 is actually a laptop desk that you can use with the comfy chair so you can work with your feet up!
thanks for the tip
Yep. I stay at Premier Inns roughly 2 nights per week for work, and that moveable bedside/laptop table is always extremely useful.
Tip for any hotel with the electric/room key thing. Any card from your wallet fits and works, so if itâs hot you can leave the air conditioning on and while youâre out of the room.
That fridge would be marvellous, always bring a pint of two of real milk for real tea and end up having to keep it cool on the windowsill or in a sink of cold water for the morning. It'd probably be safe for overnight but I don't like taking tummy risks when I'm away from home. Thanks for the review Tim.
Great idea!
I really do like a Premier Plus room, as I can pop down the shop and put my pepsi in the fridge to keep cool. After a night out a cold glass of water is so much nicer than the usual warm tap water too! They tend to put the Plus rooms on the higher up floors too for those of us who prefer a view, take away the ÂŁ5/night for good wifi and it's definitely worth the money.
Fridges are great. If you are staying for a few days, its worth it to go to a store close by and buy a few waters or soft drinks and keep them cool in the fridge. Better than paying $18.50 for a bottle at the hotel. As well, I've had the the occasion to take back leftovers from a restaurant (one time an entire free meal) and keep it in the fridge for the next days dinner if there is also a microwave in the room. it also is advantageous if you travel with a cooler to refreeze your ice packs.
Microwave in your roomâŠ.ive never come across that treat in the yookay, where do you visit on this sceptered isle?
@@griswald7156 There are some places that have microwaves. Some of the apartment hotels (like Marlin Apartments in London) have two electric hobs, microwave and fridge.
@@griswald7156 this is over in US. I've even gotten regular hotel rooms with mini-kitchens in them with a full sized fridge, microwave, two burner stove and oven, and the pots and plates before. But fridges are now very common in many chain hotels and microwaves are not 100% common, but becoming more so. Some will have one in the lobby or by the vending machines on each floor, but more or putting them with the fridge in the room. I've never used the kitchen, but always the fridge, and sometimes the microwave.
@@porcelainthunder2213 that would be great if in the uk hotel we could rustle up a beef burger ,some big soup and a warm baguette, and some nice chilled milk for a bonne cafeâŠ.but at the moment its a pipe dreamâŠso we have to make do with a pork pie ,a packet of crisps and a warm sarsparilla..
Iâm pretty sure water isnât gunna be that much at premier inn. The breakfast is only about ÂŁ10 but I get what you mean... cheaper buying at a supermarket nearby
The fridge is really useful especially in the summer when you need chilled drinks. It is something we look for.
I Stayed in the Premier Plus room on Bournemouth Sea Front....i have to say i was impressed, we even had a Balcony.
Had a premier plus room in Bournemouth (if you're ever staying try to get one of the sea view rooms, one of the best room views in Bournemouth)
Main plus of the premier plus room was the fridge, there is complimentary water in it, and if you run out you just ask for more at reception. Basically unlimited.
And was great to go to Tesco and get some cold drinks that I could then keep cold.
WiFi was also useful
I used to work for room service at the premier inn, it was actually alright!
I remember the ladies I worked with used to always use the coffee machines in the morning and they are actually pretty good ! (Plus who doesnât love a bit of chocolate!)
lol
I'd been wondering if the Plus rooms were worth the extra, to be honest I don't think I would pay that extra, I think their standard rooms are pretty good anyway. Thanks for showing us Tim, shame we couldn't see the sea view in the day time though, I would have liked to have seen that.
I felt the same. Normal Premier Inn seems fine and I don't see the upgrade need. If I were staying for a few days the fridge would be good. This video is useful so I know for future.
Haha I work at Premier Inn and I donât think those rooms are worth that much more than flex rooms. Get a flex room, just as good!
Staying at Premier Inns for work, I take advantage of the Premier Plus rooms when I can. In some of their hotels, the Premier Plus floor is also the quiet floor. As someone who has worked hard during the day, and absolutely knackered by the end of it, those little extras make a difference. Even the stool as somewhere to unpack your overnight bags. But then, my hotel expenses are paid for me. I always love the Nespresso machine.
Fridges are quite useful for keeping costs down. If staying for a while you can pick up snacks that will keep for lunch or dinner meaning apart from breakfast you only have one paid meal out to pay for per day.
These look really nice, they have taken out the bath and replaced it with a shower that's why the shower is roomy, also you need a fridge to keep items cool like milk or drinks so it's a great addition.
I really like Premier Inn, I know what to expect and I know the shower will be piping hot and the bed acceptable. I travel around Europe for work and so many hotels are sub par to Premier Inn standards
Fridge and Aircon definitely a big improvement. Nice to have somewhere to keep bottle of water cool. Also if you are an insulin dependent diabetic good to have somewhere cool to store the insulin if you are staying more than a couple of days. Showers look good as well.
I had two free bottles of water when I stayed in a Premier Plus room, and quite enjoyed it. I'll certainly stay in one again when I've got more time to kill at the hotel as they're more comfortable to work in and more relaxing generally... The fridge was a nice touch to chill a drink overnight and take out in the morning... Also if you take drinks up from the bar (as I do if I'm working in the room for a while) it's handy to keep them cool.
We stayed in a Premier Inn in Farringdon in London, I was well impressed with the room, the only thing we didn't have was the coffee machine. We had the family room, would definitely stay again. Totally agree about the bed sheets I was sweltering in the night, mind you it was August lol.... Great video Tim! đđđ
Your mini fridge should have 2 still and 2 sparkling water just to say! :)
whattttttt I want a refund
Yay - couldn't stand the purple lighting. Totally agree about the pillows - same with Travelodge too, I believe they describe them as 'plump'!
The dalek from the ceiling was exactly what you were talking about; it dispenses the fragrance.
I wish Premier Inn would do a loyalty scheme. I spend months a year in them and always a pain when you can't even get good internet without paying.
me too they did used to do something like that
I stayed in a premier plus room more than once. and I must say its worth while! I have the best night sleep I ever had in those rooms, nice soft beds, fresh pillows and sheets and just generally a clean atmosphere that just makes everything melt away. the staff I find are very helpful too!
Premier Inn used to be my go-to chain, but they've changed to a "dynamic pricing" model, and they're now very poor value for money. September 2021, me and some friends stayed at a Premier Inn at Cardiff, and my room was ÂŁ59 a night, including breakfast, which I think is pretty good value. In October 2022, we went back to the same hotel, as it was well located for us, and the price had shot up to ÂŁ93 a night. The original plan had been to stay in another Premier Inn in the Cotswolds on our journey home, but their branch at Chipping Norton cost a truly shocking ÂŁ160 for a standard room!! We ended up getting a far, far nicer Mercure hotel which cost just ÂŁ7 more than what I'd paid for a night in Cardiff! Until such time as Premier Inn lower their prices, I will be in no hurry to return. It's a shame really.
I think this has always been the case - I needed to stay in Dover in August 2015 and it was about ÂŁ80 per night (much more than when I'd stayed there a few months before). Hotels in general, like everything, have also shot up a lot in price recently. I think Premier Inn is still better value than say a Travelodge, but it's definitely worth shopping around for other options.
I am an Iranian girl, walk with me in the nature of Iran. It's amazing, subscribe
We stayed in a Premier Inn hotel about ten years ago and it was only ÂŁ19 a night we paid online. It was a special offer I think even ÂŁ29 was quite good. But I noticed that some branches are more expensive than other.
Brilliant as always, Tim. I love my Premier Inns as well, so I was considering the Plus one next year when I take my mini breaks. The shower was incredible đ And come on mate, the fridge in the room is perfect for keeping those beers cold đđ
Very impressed with how clean everything is... it could be as it's all newly fitted as you pointed out but I would definitely pay an extra ÂŁ20-30 to guarantee comfort and cleanliness. Great review as always Tim.
yes I think if u fancy having a treat its worth it
Cleanliness should be guaranteed anyway in my opinion
@@technov1deo I agree, but Tim's posts often prove this not to be the case.
@@WalkWithMeTimhi there! Check out the chessington hotel itâs worth it!
To be honest, never had a problem with cleanliness in a Premier Inn.
Love premier inn ; I even brought the pillows and duvet , the beds are amazing; best nights sleep ever
Wow you are a fan
Love the video as usual! I nearly opted for the premier plus room at the one I stayed at a couple of weeks ago but didnât as I wasnât sure what to expect, this is very useful!
I usually stop in Premier Inns when visiting my daughter down in Kent. I find them clean and always in good order for the few days I'm down there. Nice grub as well! Cheers for another informative vid to divulge myself in, Tim. đ
I love Premiere Inn - the best beds ever! I'd say the extra money is worth it because the rooms look much bigger and the extras are worth it for me.
I have wondered what these are like when Iâve stayed in the newish PI at Great Yarmouth. There are some good points like the fridge, situated on the top floor and better toiletries. I spend so little time in the room I doubt for me it would be worth it. Itâs a shame they didnât do a super king bed but I suppose the room is a similar size to the normal rooms. Thanks for sharing and satisfying my curiosity đ
In the room, loving the purple mood lighting.
Hi Tim ! Looks like a nice room . Thanks for sharing with us. Love to you as always Tracey đ
Well i'm impressed with that room, looked lovely, only stayed in a Premier Inn once, that was in Eastbourne, thought it was good value, the only negative was not being able to open the room window, i heard it was like that in all Premier Inns, i'm afraid i like a slightly open window and fresh air at night.
I stay in premier inn's all the time and I've never tried a plus room, but after watching this I really want to
Hoorah, I'm not alone on the too thick pillow and duvets. I've been known to dump the pillow for a towel inside the pillow case, and just use the duvet cover.
I like the premier Inns. Usually nice and clean and you know what your getting. Air BnB can be hit and miss.
The fridges are meant to come with two complimentary bottles of spring water, one still and one sparkling.
Love the Premier Inn plus in Weston Super Mare, very nice. Thanks for your video Tim
Fridge is a fantastic addition.
I always check that accommodation comes with a fridge , certain medications need refrigeration and okay in a cool box for the journey but need to go straight into the fridge on arrival. Great to see these hotels catering for everyone and listening to travellers request đ
Well done Tim, that was a super review of the Premier Inn plus room.
Thanks Michael
Love a premier inn! Find the beds so comfy and the purple light really soothing
I love a Premier inn, know what your getting which I'm absolutely fine with. Just got to be clever with the days/dates or sometimes can charge a fortune.
yes agree can u still find one for ÂŁ29 lol
Looked really good but they could have put a bath in to really up their game. Some of us cannot use showers for med reasons. Nice review as always.
I used to stay in premier inns when working away from home...and I was always pleased...the pillows are to die for.... better than almost anywhere...
I used to travel alot for a living ,and have used Premier Inns since they started many years ago.
The were always competivly priced, comfortable and spotless .
Makes me feel happy about my forthcoming trip to the Oban Premier Inn.
I stayed in one of these rooms before I knew what they were, it was simply the only room available. but the room I had was significantly larger than this, almost have a completely separate living space. It felt totally worth the little more. If that was the room I received I wouldnât a known the difference. I was staying at Earls Court London.
Premier Inn Guernsey is amazing and staff are soooo friendlyđđđđđ
I love a Premier Inn . So impressed with your room
Great video looks so comfortable x
Ooh, this is a LOVELY upgrade to the regular Premier Inn product - thanks for sharing this one with us!
Our pleasure!
The air freshener thingy is made by Scent Air - they pump out a mist of fragrance. I use several of them and they're becoming more popular, not cheap though!
You can just buy plug ins or Glade or Air Wick fresh matic auto dispensers
Well this is a massive step up compared to the usual Britannia dives you get to review đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
The last time when I stayed at a Premier Inn in Cardiff they were having one of the floors done out, take it might have been starting on with the Premier Inn plus rooms. I have stayed at lots of Premier Inn myself, you know what you are getting and they a good for a night sleep. Cool room number, 3 2 1 open the door. đ
I love this âadd a fancy chair and itâs a completely different room classâ idea. I still would choose Premier Inn because the breakfast is a bit rubbish usually. But, a nice room overall.
Oh more budget accommodation sounds goodđ. This room looks lovely. Thanks Tim.
Lol
I love the beds in Premier Inn and I have only stayed in one in Yorkshire. And the showers ooh lovely xxx
The high pillows are great for side sleepers!
I stayed in a premium plus room at Cardiff and have to admit I was impressed with the extra features. Love the led strip lights in the room. Certainly will be paying that bit extra when I visit Edinburgh in 2023!
I think these rooms could be good for business travellers. The only thing that I haven't seen in standard Premier Inn rooms that I'd probably use is the fridge.
Fridges are really useful, especially in the summer - you can use it to chill drinks or store food safely, especially if you're trying to save money on meals out. I also have meditation that is better chilled and usually resort to making a DIY fridge when I stay in hotels.
I actually think all rooms should have one in!
I agree but what Iâm interested in is how do you make a DIY fridge?
@@Blue.sk13s So am I . Tell us how to make a â DIY Fridge â đ€đđđđ»
Business travelers will have expenses like meals out paid, fridges are more appreciated by the everyday leisure traveler who would like to save money
@@Blue.sk13s I only need to keep eye drops cool, so I put them in a cup/glass/mug (whatever's provided in the room) and fill the container with cold water. Then I take a couple of squares of toilet roll, fold them and put on top of the container so that both ends are in the water and the middle is exposed.
It's similar to how you keep milk cold when camping, except with a bucket and tea towel.
I can't remember the exact science behind why it works, but it does!
@@hd2000 I've stayed in hotels for work, sometimes you don't feel like eating out or have leftovers to keep cool or want to get lunch for the next day (which usually isn't expensable). You also might want to keep drinks cold on a hot day.
I agree that it's more useful for leisure travellers, but still useful for everyone.
Clean and fresh room,đ
This step up in PI rooms would certainly make me more likely to choose them over a Holiday Inn Extra say, I do though like full-service hotels and in particular some of the rather quirky old coaching inns like The Bear at Woodstock, price is not always my first consideration either when booking a hotel.
The only problem with the weston Super Mare Premier Inn is the parking, no free car park,so we been to the one in Lympsham very nice just outside weston. We have also stayed in a Premier plus room, and it was lovely having the extra bit's the fridge is the best thing. And yes you should have had some Complimentary water and bit's in the fridge. They're also changing their mattresses they normally have hypnos ones, but now they are all changing to Silent night ones.
Looks good & thanks Tim đ€
Ive just booked to stay in one of these in lincoln. Im excited x
I've stayed at the Premier Inn at Kettering in the past pre-covid and the room was freezing as the heating didn't work properly. The new style upgrade rooms do look nice and I'd probably choose them over the standard rooms. I look forward to seeing your next video.
Interesting, I've been to one in Halifax a couple of weeks ago and it was freezing as well. Like seriously freaking cold.
Otherwise very tidy and calm.
I live two bus stops south of this premier inn. Good to know about the fridge as if I am away for a few days I can put my insulin in it, though I prefer a bath. I love their beds. If you know Weston-super-Mare then you would not be surprised to read the sign about substances.
Love these walkthroughs and reviews of premier in. Big fan of your Great Yarmouth ones! Great Yarmouth is a wonderful place too!
Machine in the hall is a Scent Air machine. It atomizes scented oil.
It does look nice, never stayed in one but I'd definitely think about it if it's ever an option. Ty for sharing your vid.
I liked my premier inn plus room in Salisbury. Looking forward to the next one that I have booked in Milton Keynes â€
Good video, love the Hub rooms
Definitely missing items from the fridge. You should have had complimentary still/sparkling water in there. Tiny bars of good quality chocolate a nice touch and a coffee machine. But is it really worth the extra. On visual the bed looks fine and nice touch with the lit wardrobe always handy a night. I donât know how much extra you paid but yes it looks pretty good.

I always take my own tea and coffe to a premier inn or travelodge, only because I have a brand I prefer. I also buy a small bottle of milk at the local supermarket before I arrive, so I would appreciate a fridge in the room as I often have to throw milk away and buy a new one if staying for a few days
Thanks Tim great video never been in one myself but that room looked good interesting to watch Yvonne đ
You always know what youâre getting with a premier inn. With the exception of the odd, easily rectified problem, Iâve never had any issues - the beds as you say are very comfortable, the rooms are usually very clean and the staff are usually very good. I would personally choose premier inn over Travelodge as they can be a bit hit and miss although they shouldnât be completely ruled out as Iâve stayed in plenty of good Travelodge hotels. Iâve had it before when Iâve stayed somewhere awful which completely ruined the holiday so having the guarantee that premier inn can give of being generally very good, is very much worth it even if you pay a bit more.
I love Premier Inn and also IBIS as you know exactly what you are getting before you book and I have never had a complaint about any I have stayed in. Travelodge are ok but not on the level of the other two and no cheaper! Great video Tim; I would definitely pay the premium for a "plus" room. Thanks for this I really enjoyed it. Best wishes from North Yorkshire and when are you reviewing Saltburn? It's lovely, full of Victorian charm.
May have to see if the usual one I book for when we goto hoys has the plus rooms. Love a good Premier Inn. Always a good night sleep and being a 15 min drive away makes a cool down for your mind after the show.
Trying a normal b&b in June in Peterborough as its closer to the theatre.
You were wondering what that thing is up on the wall in the hallway. I wonder if it could be a security camera, although it doesn't really look like one. I don't know.
Wow that was a lovely video to watch. Thanks Tim. đ
the round thing on the wall is a fragrance defuse unit some also double as an air steriliser/odour eliminator
Hello Tim,this room looks awesome, the setup and the light above the bed makes it more welcoming.i think it is definitely worth the extra money.
Alot of normal new rooms come with that light too
Love the effort you put into your videos, Tim. It really makes them stand out from others doing similar. Keep up the good work, matey
thanks :-)
Love premier inn you get what you pay for and they are always clean, comfortable and quiet. Really good for short stays
I always like my Premier Inns main reason being the bed and they provide a bath which I like.
So glad you showed us the new rooms but I think I would decline not much better and no bath.
i was staying at a premier inn in chester and it was so nice but i was suprised they have soap dispensers but i brought my own soap as my skin is picky what soap it has on it and the pillows were to high like you said and i personally like a thick duvet as i find it more comfortable. i didnt have the breakfast as i dont usually have it but it was only a tenner but the meals in the evening were 25 pounds. i decided to get food from elsewhere. i would stay in premier inn chester again. perfect.
Premier Inn room are not bad to start with. Good clean and same standard no matter where. I was given a Premier Plus room (free upgrade) at Heathrow T4. It was very nice. Fridge was specially appreciated to keep drinks and snacks cold. Sorry Iâd take a fridge anyway over a coffee machine. And most would. If they have kids or babies or traveling by yourself. Apart from AC a fridge is probably the best addition to a room. And the Prem T4 had a Costa in the lobby so I could get a better coffee there anyway then Iâd make.
Yes don't see the point of the fridge
@@WalkWithMeTim It keeps things cold đI love when a hotel has a mini fridge, throw in that pre-dinner bottle of wine as a couple, or a few cold cans before you head out for the evening. Each to their own though. Great review.
@@robertnash1084 100%. And even if going back to room you can keep some nice chocolate or a sandwich (you pick up) for an evening treat. Or a cold drink overnight. And also that coffee machine, itâs much nicer having fresh milk than some long life UDT. 100% find a fridge handier
Hi Tim,I thought it was nice,I'd definitely stay there as that's my favorite chocolate and tea đ€Łđ€Ł,that bed looked like u could get a great night's sleep.,hope u enjoyed your morning coffee. Thanks for video.
Pmsl when u opened the fridge and saw the help yourself sign on the fridge door and was like "help yourself... to what theres nothing in there, should there be something in my fridge" đ€Ł that was funny. I rewinded it to watch that lil bit again cuz it made me laugh. And i love watching ur videos btw. I like to have baths rather than showers too. It's more relaxing.
glad I'm not the only one lol
Hi Tim, Thanks for the vid, nice to hear your thoughts on premier Inn as I stay in premier inns all the time for work and always go for the "plus" if available as it's usually only about a tenner more than the flex booking (which we have to use in case of last minute changes)
There should be some bottled water in the fridge by the way so maybe ask at reception as they probably forgot your room lol
They used to have soft and hard pillows, pre-covid but just have the hard ones now unfortunately.
I'm gutted I want a refund
The glass of the light in the bathroom when tapped lucky wasn't hot and not burn't self.
Looks much nicer than the rooms I have stayed in, although I barely remember falling into them to be honest.
Hi Tim, greetings from Melbourne Australia. Great channel. Premier Inns are our go to on our UK trips when not staying with family and friends. You know what you are going to get: consistency and value & also very friendly staff. Because our UK trips are planned and booked well in advance you can get great deals (but also flexibility). Might try a Plus room next trip but tbh, the bog standard ones are more than enough. Also the breakfastsâŠ. đ sets us up for the day
Thanks Simon, they are my favourite too
One other thing the fridge is an excellent idea for my ice packs... milk etc
