Stayed in one of these for three nights on London in November last year. Could not fault it. Only cost me ÂŁ250 including dinner and breakfast. Right next to Westminster Abby. Brilliant. đđ»
Is it ÂŁ250 a night or for the whole 3 nights?
@@luciollelsa it says 250 for everything Including dinner and breakfast for the 3 days
This was the size of my apartment when I lived in NYC right out of college and it was half as nice.
I absolutely love these hotels. I think Iâve now stayed in all of the Hub hotels in London and even one in Edinburgh. The housekeepers in these hotels are clearly extremely highly trained and care deeply because my rooms have always been absolutely spotless, the AC is always in good working order; I remember last year in the 40° heat, my room was beautifully cool and nice. Receptionists and night porters are always attentive, friendly and quick to respond to any questions or requests. The breakfast is nice. The rooms are brilliantly well sound isolated, you can hear nothing apart from whatâs inside your room. Brilliant water pressure. BrillIant TV with AirPlay to watch something to unwind before sleep (and some do have HDMI input just below the TV for laptops etc). Iâve just literally never been able to find any complaint other than, thereâs no tea and coffee in the room, and you have to go down to the bar for your morning brew before you shower (it is completely free mind and you can help yourself as much as you like)
Also, if you are staying, that little shelf under the bed for luggage slides out, took me a few visits to realise, very nice if you just need to slide your suitcase out to grab a clean pair of socks or whatever when youâre getting readyâŠ
Out of all the locations, which was the best?
I stay in the Shoreditch one regularly; it is always clean and welcoming and I like their breakfasts. My only niggle is that the air con refuses to go lower than 19 degrees but that's too hot for a perimenopausal like me - more air con control please other than that, fabulous.
I stayed in these twice. The first an alarm went off at 5 in the morning, I honestly thought it was the fire alarm, I got up and went to leave in my jammies. Realised when I looked out the spyglass in the door no one else was up and moving.
Second time I was put in a basement room (no windows, really dark atmosphere to me and... HAD TO MAKE MY OWN BED. No word of a lie. Sheets and everything were just piled up neatly at the end of the bed. And my company paid ÂŁ189 for me to stay there.
Never again đ€Ł
Never had any issues with a normal premier inn (I travel for work and always stay in them). The 'tech savvy' upgrades just aren't worth it.
I love the Hubs. Iâve not stayed at Kings Cross but both the Covent Garden one and Tottenham Court Road one are great too. The only design flaw/word of warning is the lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room and the small assault course of heavy, key-carded doors between the complementary hot drinks machine in the bar and your room door. Iâd recommend bringing your own reusable travel mug to avoid a clumsy thumb scalding (been there, bought the burn gel from Covent Garden Boots!)
My wife and iIstayed at the Goodge Street Hub hotel in London in Novemebrer 2022 and at the Haymarket Hub hotel in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago. Both were absolutely brilliant and would recommend both 100%.
We're heading back to Goodge Street in the summer
I have been staying at the one in Westminster since Wednesday, and leave tomorrow. I am in a standard room, but is a corner room, so the layout is a little different. Everything else is similar to what is in the video.
The one in Westminster is fantastic. It's clean, comfortable, and has a laid back atmosphere. The location is ideal. I will definitely be back, if I stay in the area again.
Very fancy! And unlike the easy jet hotel, you have a desk!! đ€Łđ€Ł
Right?!
Easy hotel is a different company to EasyJet đđđ
Literally just got back from staying in the Covent Garden one last night. It's great. I wouldn't stay anywhere else now if I am going for one night solo.
Love this. Premier Inn just absolutely nail the hotel industry. Wouldn't stay anywhere else! Great video as always Tim!
Couldn't agree more!
I'm happy to stat at Premier Inn and do. To say I'd never stay anywhere else though... that's a stretch.
Interesting hotel - probably best for solo travellersâŠ
I looked up the price for tonight (9th Feb) and a standard room is ÂŁ116.45. I tried other days and itâs anything from ÂŁ66 to nearly ÂŁ200.
The upper end is certainly pricey!!
I stayed in one in Edinburgh over new years. Was very impressed
I've lived in London for the past 17 years, so I don't stay in the hotels here, but I am really impressed with this. As far as budget hotels go, this is one of the best I've seen.
Me and my family stayed in a Premier Inn hotel in Hounslow West back in the year of 2013, and the second time in 2018. Such good memories â€ïžâ€ïž
I stayed in the Brick Lane one. I was staying with my husband & I absolutely hated it. The lack of space for two of us was awful as we tried getting ready. If either of us was there on our own for work, it would have been great. But for two of us, it was really unpleasant. Especially when you had to climb over the other person to get out of bed. Also, they didnât have any spare pillows & we had to request additional towels a few times.
The hub is usually always my go to when staying in London or Edinburgh. They are very comfortable and I love being able to control everything from my bed!
Those efficient small rooms remind me a lot of Norwegian Cruise Lines "Solo Studio" single person staterooms on their cruise ships. Very small, very efficient and very comfortable.
I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times. It is pretty decent and quite affordable for a London hotel. In the same building you can find an affordable pizzeria and an Asian inspired restaurant.
I know this post is year later but my boyfriend and I watch your channel and love it! We actually watched this video prior to traveling to London and fell in love with it. We are actually staying here right now. Thank you for the insightful vlog, Tim! Weâre excited to always see your upcoming vlogs đ
I'm impressed. Great Vlog Tim.
Thanks!
Love the Hub hotels, perfect for the solo traveller. I usually come to London for my birthday in January when prices are pretty cheap. However they get MUCH more expensive at other times of the year!
As others have mentioned, an ideal room for one traveller or business person but a little cozy for two. Iâd definitely try one out.
Cool design and so updated ,nice room Tim , and bar đ€
These are great. Stayed in the Westminster one. Absolutely brilliant. Also...free breakfast because we didn't realise you had to pay (thought work had booked us a room with breakfast) and we just helped ourselves. It was that busy, no one noticed.
LOL. I much appreciated the "shoes off." So many reviewers (especially in the US but honestly everywhere) jump on the beds with dirty outdoor shoes, and some even step on the beds while getting on. Animals! ;) Just having fun. But I am glad to see it.
Stayed at the Hub one in Edinburgh Haymarket in October 2021, and for a couple of nights was lovely - the larger room does allow you to get round the bed, and all comfy and nice. The tea and coffee (in case anyone wondered) is from a machine downstairs in the bar with proper mugs - just fill up when you like and take it to your room - and it's Costa beans for the coffee, so all the niceness of that whenever you like. The bar is also very reasonably priced (not ripoff hotel prices at all.) I do think they're on a winner with this personally and a few more in other cities would give you more choice.
Thanks Tim, very interesting as a builder and hotelier into more compact living and accommodation. I previously built narrowboats and often people looking into buying one would be concerned over space. I would tell them, "you can only sit in one seat at a time so make it a comfortable one!" Having a huge space just means more heating, cleaning and more walking!
We've stayed at hub Rose Street Edinburgh, a number of times! Love it. The only criticism is the bed stuck in the corner, so whoever sleeps against the wall gets the shirt straw! Otherwise 95/100
We always stop at premier inns never had a bad one that one looks delightful đ
Ha ha
That looked like a lovely, cosy room. I'm discovering so many places I didn't know about from watching your videos - thanks Tim.
Stayed there last year, really comfortable, think I was floor 2 or 3, had the larger room facing into the courtyard
The bathroom door was funny when I had a friend over đ

Another video done so well. Thanks for the valuable information. The videos are so fun to watch because of your great personality and enthusiasm you provide.Great job Tim !
So nice of you
Oh wow super cool super snazzy hotel and room Timđđ. Iâve never heard or seen of these but anyone who loves gadgets and high tech, these are great. Perfect for a lone traveller like myself so yes I would use these. Thanks for uploading.
Very nice vlog Tim
Confused it is up live now?
My wife and I stayed in the Westminster hub last year. We loved it and it was cheaper than a normal premier Inn in London. We did upgrade to the larger hub room which was smaller than the standard premier Inn rooms but larger than your hub room and for ten quid was the right decision as that little extra gave more space but still felt cosy and unique. Read, really recommend the hubs.
I've stayed in the one by covent garden and I actually really liked it. Just for a few nights is perfect. Great price, was small but they made great use of maximising storage so it wasn't too small and the controls were fun to play with lol. Although one pet peeve was the control panel sometimes accidentally got triggered by my head/pillow when sleeping. Would be good if it was maybe by the side wall instead or if you could "lock" it out. Overall would recommend for a short stay âșïž
Cool but I don't like the half privacy glass to the bathroom.
Totally agree. Itâs just not private
Who would be there except you though? And usually a double is with someone you know. Plus it's frosted enough unless you stay with a creep
Thanks for sharing. On the South Coast near Worthing, so often spent days out in London, but now considering an overnight stay!!
I always stay in a Hub when I have to be in London overnight. Comfortable and good value for London. I've always found the staff friendly and helpful, too.
The down side of this room is, when you are with 2 people and the person next to the wall needs to use the toilet at night, you'll have to climb over the person next to you and you'll most likely wake them up....also there is no space for 2 suitcases......
i was looking into staying in a hub! this is perfect. thanks for the review tim!
Would stay there
I was ÂŁ147.00 for 2 nights in the bigger room in spring, was nice, was around same price for the single near Buckingham Palace đŹ
Glad I could help!
Premier Inn, also have a place near Cardiff called Zip, by Premier Inn. It seems to be similar to the hub hotels but must be slightly different. What makes it interesting is the prices. I see it advertised for ÂŁ21 and rarely goes to ÂŁ50.
It's called Zip as they use, what is known in the industry, as 'Zip & Link beds', allowing the hotel to change the rooms from Twin bed rooms to Double bed rooms as often as they like âșïž
I did see them too
A few people say the beds are quite firm at Zip. The Hub, ones are very comfortable. Zip also seems to be outside the city, unlike Hub. But it does have parking and is crazy cheap.
Stayed several times in the Hub Westminster Abbey in the larger room, absolutely fantastic .
I absolutely love the one I stayed in in Shoreditch, which has the same interior design as this one. Fun, pretty, and really affordable, compared to a regular PI. And the staff were really friendly and helpful, even though I arrived at 3AM!
That looks amazing and so comfortable.
It's 12: 53 A. M here, but I'll be watching first your video before đ€đŽ
Hi Tim, Good vlog, liked the room nice and clean and good bathroom, hope you slept well in the comfy bed, thanks for sharing see you next time đ
Thanks đ
I was in room 3036 at that hotel in November and loved it. I said the same thing that you did - I don't know how two people would get along there because it'd be like playing Tetris every time someone needed to move around but I am only one person. What I liked best was the quiet! Because the rooms are so small, it's not a party hotel and there are no kids running up and down the hallways. The only thing I wish they had - instead of two storage places beneath the bed (for those wondering, one is a drawer and the other is like a pull out platform), they should have a step stool. I'm not the smallest person in the world but it was hard getting up on the bed. Will definitely check some of the other locations out.
I stayed in the one near Kings Cross in London in the summer some years ago now. I had a terrible stay. The air con kept coming on in the night and I couldnât get anyone to sort it out as there was only a security guard. I ended up having to turn the power off at the fuse box. I propped the door open with a pillow to try and get some heat out the room but the security guard kept closing the door even after I explained the situation (for my safety he said).I was given free breakfast in the morning as some sort of compensation but I was pretty knackered from a sleepless night. Hopefully they were just teething problems but to date I havenât stayed in another one since.
This looks really good! All you need for a base in London and handy for the main line stations too. Can you get an evening meal in there as well as breakfast?
Looks quite cosy and clean thanks Tim look forward to the next Yvonne đ
Great hotel. 5 minutes away from King's Cross. Really well located if you want to visit Cambridge for a day or for an Arsenal game. You check-in by yourself and also for the check-out. The standard room has more than enough space for one person and I'd say also for two people. There's a Pret just in front, so no need for breakfast. There's also a Tesco, Nando's or McDonald's in the area. If you're a runner, you're just right next to Regent's Canal. One bad point : the AC makes a sort of spray noise like every 2 minutes, even during the night, so you'll probably need earplugs if you're easily disturbed in your sleep. Otherwise, I really recommend.
Great video Tim. All I can say about the room is....Buck Rogers!!
Lol
I've stayed in the Kings Cross one several times and love it. Me and a friend call it the cheese board hotel as the cheese board in the restaurant is lovely! x
Iâve literally stayed in that premier inn hub. Was weird staying in a room in the basement with no window but the room was good and cheap pint too
Iâm with you on this one Tim, compact and neat and no grime. Thanks for the intro.
You bet
Stayed in one in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago, loved it with the bar area and comfy couchesđđ
Rather posh for such a compact room!
The Doorbell was very snazzy!
Nice tone too!
Nice big comfy looking bed I agree with you Tim tho I don't like beds next to walls much makes it feel abit closterphobic (know I spelt that wrong, but you know what I mean!)
Nifty little work station & very narrow little window.
The TV was excellent liked the Wake up Alarm on the TV, that's a great idea.
Handy storage behind the full length Mirror!
I liked the Bathroom sink too Tim very modern & classy & a Nice clean Bathroom, the mood lighting was nice lots of great buttons to play about with adjusting the ambiance & the Air Conditioning.
Great for a nights stay tho I can't imagine a long stay in a mini room like that.
But certainly comfy for a short stay
That's the first time I've seen a Hotel Hub Tim!âșïž
If you take into consideration the LED pads on the walls and other high tec gizmos abound, you could liken it to a scene out of Star Trek, Tim. All they needed was a holo-deck and transporter... Joking aside , it was an amazing Premier Inn; and I've been in many of them. Cheers for the education đ
It looks really good. Seems well thought out but I think it mostly has the advantage of being fairly new, which means the bathrooms are not off putting.
Hi Tim love this how cool . Thanks for sharing with us love to you as always Tracey đ xxxx
I like your little catchphrase: "I've already checked in..."
Looks very similar to the Bloc at Gatwick Airport.
Love the review. I've used the Snoozebox near Pudding Mill Lane for my last couple of trips to London which are small but perfectly formed rooms made from converted shipping containers but will definitely give the Hubs a look now.
Stayed in the one at Haymarket Edinburgh just last weekend and it's really good especially for the price and area where everywhere else is overcharging. Easy check in and check out as well.
I stayed in one a few years ago, possibly in the first one - over by St. James Park tube station. It was completely inside the building - no window. That was fine until the lights started turning off after just a few minutes, leaving me in total blackness. So I called the reception desk and a guy came up, checked out the problem, and then uttered the immortal words: "I'm going to reboot the room", and (using a special management command) he turned off all the tech and let it reboot. Sadly, that didn't work, and I was moved to a different (and larger) room. A fun experience, however.
Well done Premier Inn another great product.
Been to the Westminster one recently and the room has the same configuration. The only difference is instead of street view, I got a room that there is corridor-like space outside the window, then there's window to outside.
Also, the USB charging port, as well as audio/video/HDMI socket for the TV, as allocated at the wall on bed side. I like this room in video better though because it have *one* USB charger port among the sockets under TV that I could use.
And I got 2 sets of towels instead of just one.
Regarding breakfast, seems the King's Cross one have sausage and bacon, which is not supplied at Westminster one. We can order cocktails at the Westminster one at night though, not sure if it's the same at the King's Cross one.
And what is not demonstrated in the video is that, the power of the room is controlled by motion sensor instead of keycard slot. When I was sitting still in front of my laptop for a while, the light suddenly goes off. I have to wave my hand a bit to get the power back.
I always stay in Premier Inn's Tim when The Malmaison and Radisson Blu hotels are not available , ( The Radisson Blu at Manchester Airport is magnificent by the way ) Premier inn is a creation of Whitbread PLC when they bought out tbe Premier Lodge group in 2004 and merged two hotel chains together to form the Premier Inn , somebody once told me from Whitbread that they originally created tbe hotel chain to avoid paying too much tax on tbe huge beer profits they were making , maybe a victim of its own success as its now makes up 70 percent of Whitbread's earnings.
I stayed in the rose street one in Edinbrugh and cant rate it enough! Loved itâ€
Liked the video Tim I have never heard of these before so glad you showed us was impressed with your room very nice I would stay in one of those I have not seen those advertised before
I stayed at this exact location back in December and definitely think with these micro hotels it can be luck of the draw. Room ended up still being quite expensive due to London pricing and we were down in the basement - your standard room was certainly much nicer than ours so I think it just depends on availablity. Overall though I do still like the concept of these hotels a lot, I've stayed at a Point A location in London which is a super similar chain and think they're worth the money.
Agree Hub often charging around 200 a night and now with cheap shower gel. Better places to stay.
In fairness to Hub, when I've been put in the basement, the rooms are bigger even if you buy a standard size room.
I know you are telling me. Yet if you travel about half an hour by train out of London, the Premier Inns are over half the price. I was pretty lucky, I managed to book in their newest one (Marylebone) for ÂŁ116 with breakfast. But if you booked it now, it's ÂŁ196 (without breakfast.)
This was such a nice room small but so clean and new.Loved it Tim. High tech . Great look around Tim. Thanks đđ»
Stayed for one night in the one on Brick Lane, very handy for the curry houses and bagel shops, although my room was subterranean, so no need for the blind to shut out any light. Not sure I could cope with two nights or more, as the cabin fever would definitely start to kick in. Space is really limited if you need to do anything more than sleep, shower or watch TV, although bed, shower and TV/broadband *were* all excellent. I had to iron a shirt for work the next day, which proved challenging as the room wasn't wide enough to put the ironing board across. So it had to go lengthways, with me squeezed between the board and wall.
Overall, fine for a night or two as a base for a city break, or one night when travelling for work.
Not bad...not bad at, all. Thanks for the video Tim!
I stayed in the Hub just off Westminster. Was great, would recommend. Breakfast was a bit scaled back but aside from that, nothing to complain about.
Wow, I've just stayed at this same hotel in Kings Cross. I recommend it and the breakfast too.
That looked amazing and I will stay there one day soon.
You should!
I've stayed in this one and Brick Lane. Both were great!
This room looks lovely! The bed looks very comfy!
That is very much like the easy hotel! There is another budget type hotel which is the YotelAir at Gatwick Airport if you would like to check it out. Great Video Tim!
Coming soon
@@WalkWithMeTim Oooh looking forward to it
Also the Bloc Hotel at Gatwick, another good one similar to Hub
Travel to London regularly for work and absolutely love Hub's.
There's a lot of hotels trying to grab this market in London now. I feel a lot of them have cool lobby areas but then the rooms are really basic.
Hub rooms are small but they have everything you need as a solo traveller.
I love premier Inn Hub Hotel concept... another great episode
I always stay at that exact hotel whenever I go to visit my friends in London. Good transport links nearby, a lot of restaurants and I just love the overall feel of the hotel and room.
Loved your Premier Inn Hub video Tim,it looked very nice and such great value for money.Thankypu for another interesting vlog.
My pleasure!
When travelling for short business trips, Iâve stayed in similar hotels to this in Sweden for years. Everything you need, reasonable pricing, great idea
Thanks for sharing!
@@WalkWithMeTim It was the Scandic Rubinen. Always worked for me
I've used the hubs in Edinburgh a lot, and I think they are fantastic. Would definitely pick the bigger room option if more than one person is in the room, or if you have a lot of luggage. You also get a full size desk, similar layout to the regular premier Inn rooms but with all the new tech of the hubs. I've not had a bad experience yet!
I've stayed at the Rose Street one a couple of times, and am due to stay there in May. For my first stay, back in 2019, to check it out, I was very impressed, and I only paid around ÂŁ120 for four nights. In some respects, I actually prefer them to a normal Premier Inn. Shame their prices have risen astronomically though, and they seemed to have forgotten what their USP was.
Do you get a king sized bed?
@@jasonantigua6825 yes you do đ
@@Bungle2010 yeah it is a shame. Rose street is worth it considering the location, and having a Travelodge directly across the road that is almost the same price and definitely no where near as clean or comfortable. Haymarket is always a little cheaper and not really that far out of the way if you are looking to save a bit of money too đ
@@Misslittlelouder I ended up not going in May in the end, and postponing until September due to the rail disruption. I did check out the reviews for the nearby Travelodge a while ago and they didn't look that great. Everyone was saying the Hub is superior. The Haymarket site is a little out of the way for me. One of the main things I like about Rose Street is its central location and easy access to everything. It's only a short walk from the station, and from the Royal Mile. I also know a couple of nice pubs a short walk away, which I frequent for meals. Previously I've stayed at the Best Western Bruntsfield, which is also out of the way. It's a very nice hotel, but a long way from everthing.
A very interesting video, Tim. Well done again đđđ
Many thanks!
A lot of tech , very fancy , the room was really cool đđ» impressed.
we stayed at one in Edinborgh and was very impressed too
They are super to use, brilliant for travelling, regularly use KX, so handy, usual high Premier Inn standards and for me great value
I really like these rooms, well presented & functional
I stopped at the Covent Garden hub last night. I didnât get a pull out desk and neither did my sister in her room, which was a real nuisance! No where to put anything other than a narrow ledge on the back wall. It was very clean and served its purpose, but wouldnât rush to use another any time soon
We love the hubs and stayed at Kings Cross recently. Big tip is fetch your own mini travel kettle - it can save the early morning (or late night) walk down to the lobby for a complimentary cuppa.
Like it !! Always had good stays at Premier Inns, never any complaints from me. xx
Iâve stayed in the Edinburgh Hub off The Royal Mile a few times and itâs great for what I need and theyâre compact but not claustrophobic and have everything you need in the room. Great service from the guys working there too. Definitely going again.
Brilliant,Iâd definitely stay there,canât fault any thing,.i loved the carpet..thanks tim đ
Glad you enjoyed it
