Looks like someone raided a TK Maxx and stuck it into a hotel
ha ha agree
Agreed, finished off with a quick B&M visit. I don't like that "It's a London thing" script on the wall, like people have "Eat" in their kitchens & "Sleep" in their bedrooms but never "Poo" in the bathrooms. It's well manky, l wouldn't be able to sleep just because of that script.
@@WalkWithMeTim why donât you stay at rugby central Travelodge
@@sexynisi1 the one next to tesco express?
Congratulations on the most British comment everđđ
Imagine working here... Calls and emails every day from 'influencers' wanting a free room in return for a post on their Instagram đ
Yes .. and I had to pay for mine
@@WalkWithMeTim quality content as always đ
I think the âinstagrammable spotsâ in this hotel are actually really dated and unimaginative. Does it really make for that interesting of a photo to see someone stood in front of a generic, meaningless neon signâŠ? Itâs trying so hard to be trendy that itâs everything but.
@@V-13579 and i mean there's not even a gated entrance to a Chelsea townhouse that you don't own to pose in front of either for the OOTD instagram post.
That would be a nightmare...'influencers' another word for entitled.
Hotel room prices throughout the UK are at silly levels now, they took advantage once CV restrictions were lifted and ramped up prices to claw back profits and the prices just seem to have stayed the same, its often cheaper to go abroad for a week than stay at a half decent UK hotel for 5 nights.......
@@TheVocitus rather be with those "people" than with stuck up pretentious, arrogant well off folk.
â@@TheVocitus Exactly the same people you go on holiday to escape from.
I would definitely expect breakfast to be included at that room rate! Decor is too over the top for my taste. That eighth floor corridor looked downright creepy too! The PIR lighting is a bit impractical when people are juggling luggage and mastering using door key cards - suddenly being plunged into darkness isn't helpful!đ
One could have themselves quite the "Royal Flush" in that bathroomđ
Despite the potential sensory overload of the whole thing I kinda like it for a one-time only experience... but not for that absurd price.
Thanks Tim, entertaining as ever.
I donât think itâs at all worth staying in for. I mean, this is London weâre talking about. The options are endless. Iâd rather stay somewhere where I have my own choice of pillows, since I prefer harder ones too and somewhere i donât have Henry VIII looking at me taking a shower.
Not the best hotel to go with a hangover...
Tim has talent and something to say, a proper content creator. I really don't like the idea of Instaram hotels. The whole influencer scene usually makes me want to vomit.
Do you not think Tim would be considered and influencer himself though?!
@@harrietpalmann8450 No I think he's a creator of interesting content, rather than just going around promoting brands for cash and doing very little themselves in terms of creativity.
To be honest, Tim is, in my humble opinion, a travel journalist. He's filling a void that used to be filled partly by BBC "Holiday" and the "Watchdog" programme (before it was condensed into a 10 minute blurp on the Oneshow.)
@@harrietpalmann8450 On reflection, the difference is he is creating content about travel. Influencers are often creating other content and seeking brands to promote for financial gain, rather than for content.
â@@james-5560 Fair enough. I don't know anything about the revenue he generates from it and how many free stays he gets offered. But on the whole I'd presume anyone reviewing something (products or otherwise) with a decent enough following on YT could be considered an "influencer" of sorts. I bet people have visited some of the hotels off the back of his reviews!
i'd want to be paid ÂŁ255 to stay there......
lol
@@WalkWithMeTim Come back to cromer again soon :) Hopefully I won't be working that day
đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
ÂŁ4.44 to put a teabag in hot water? ÂŁ25 for breakfast? Those are shocking prices even for London. I usually stay in the hotel indigo in Kensington can usually get a double room with breakfast for about ÂŁ100-ÂŁ150 and it's a great hotel in a fantastic location
Thanks for the tips!
I think this is one of the first 'nice' hotels I've seen you do where I have just thought "yeah, this isn't for me." The faux-Brit stuff isn't my cup of tea, and the price is eye-watering for a decor based mostly in dodgy graffiti art. I feel far too old to be able to stay there, but then again, I'm not from the IG generation, so could see how the young'uns would think it's cool. đ
We are the young ones and we don't think it's good at all.
Definitely agree with 'yeah, it isn't for me!'
A Walk With Me Tim video on a Sunday. What a treat! đđ»
lol
ÂŁ254 a night!!!...ÂŁ25 for breakfast!!...ÂŁ4.44 for a cup of tea...not so much Alice in Wonderland...more the owners were on acid in cuckoo land when they built the place and set the price menu
so true! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Definitely agree with you about it being Instagram friendly, but a bit tacky for my liking unfortunately! Great video as always though đ
Thanks for watching!
The toilet roll between Henryâs legs made me chuckle đ€
Gotta say, your hotel reviews are very thorough. Impressive.
I think I would feel like I was on a bad trip if I stayed in that hotel. I'm sure there are better hotels than that in the same price range and you would probably get breakfast included.
Mate:, my experience is that itâs rare to find breakfast included in 4 star hotels unless itâs a special offer and in most cases itâs hidden in the price anyway.
I seriously think breakfast should be included with your room, itâs definitely aimed at the younger generation with all boutique furniture and decor. I donât think itâs worth the price đź
I suppose that depends if youâre an instagram sort or not?
For people like you and I we certainly wouldnât benefit I imagine but I guess these instagram people that get paid to do what they do might be able to make money from using a location like this to snap the shots they want for instagram?
No idea how instagram works really but this hotel certainly seems like an instagrammers wet dream đ
@@rusty5078 maybe Iâm just a fuddy duddy in my old age đ I never used to think like that .
@@tiggiegillespie4356 Iâm the same lol this instagram thing is really bizarre to me. I donât understand the hype over it. Much like TikTok itâs for a generation Iâm not part of đ

@@tiggiegillespie4356 I downloaded TikTok once deleted it after about 30 seconds đ
ÂŁ255 a night to stay in that LSD induced Nightmare? The second you stepped through the front door I knew it was a hotel I would never even countenance staying in and at that price its cemented it as such. It reminds me of one of my favourite sayings: Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!
I am with you. I hate to think of people like myself that suffer from horrid migraines đą
Im with you both. This place would give m a migraine or a.nightmare Iâm not sure which.
I am so glad I like the simple things in life. I have just come back from Langkawi. I had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the bay. It was silent in the evenings apart from frogs and occasional thunder. The room was clean and it was a pleasure to stay there. I paid ÂŁ27 per night for 5 nights. This is just one anecdotal example of how I have travelled for years. If I had been the type of person into this sort of travel, then I would have seen less than 2% of what I have been lucky to have seen over the years. Each to their own though.
ÂŁ27 per night, plus the ÂŁ1,000 to actually get there. Iâm glad you liked your time but please donât pretend that Malaysia is a budget holiday locationâŠ
@@philiptaylor2366 Who said I paid ÂŁ1000? Not me. My flight was ÂŁ570 and ÂŁ30 both ways to Langkawi from KL.
A walk with me Tim series from Orlando Florida would really hit the spot. Daily trips to the different Disney/ Universal spots. Plus loads of different hotels to sample.
You'd have to pay me to stay there Tim! I hated the vulgar tackiness of the decor. They just seemed to have thrown every random item they could find into it. I also disliked the horrible dark corridor - the stuff of nightmares. As you may have guessed, it's a no from me.
Are you familiar with the Instagram app?
Whatever floats your boat!
@@shayfinnighan6311 That's exactly my point, the hotel ironically or not aligns perfectly with instagram and the majority of its users i.e. dreadful, tacky, tasteless, self indulgent
It's the UK, vulgar tackiness is what we do best.
On my countless trips to the UK over the last 50 years I have stayed at huge range of hotels: from cheaper ones like Premier Inns up to The Ritz and Claridges. Not one would fit the definition of vulgar tackiness. @@simonh6371
4.44 for a cup of tea? Tell them they're kidding themselves! I also agree with your point about one armchair in hotel rooms, maybe there are too many single hotel room designers!
I actually feel a bit too old for this sort of hotel đ. That dartboard reminded me of that bit in the film "Videodrome" - really showing my age nowđ! Some of the things were nice but altogether it was a bit much...and so was the price! Still an enjoyable watch - Cheers Tim!
Hi Tim! I really recommend a hotel called the harbour hotel in Anglesey, Cemaes bay! Itâs 2-star but definitely does not feel like it. Iâd recommend booking a balcony too because the sea view is just amazing. Me and my boyfriend went last year. Cemaes bay alone is so beautiful!â€
I actually gasped out loud when I heard the price of that room. OMG is all I can say! And breakfast at over 20 quid? Jeez are they serving it on gold plates? Wow. Really taking the you know what tbh. And why? Because they can...... and because it's London of course....x J x
Boy, I wouldnt be keen on walking down that hall by myself lol! I don`t think I`d want to stay there, the novelty would wear off pretty quickly I think! Another great vlog Tim!
Tim, when you asked about other suggestions, could be interesting to pre-book a few rooms at random hotels, like booked well in advance, and the cost, what's included etc, and then contact the same hotel to try and book a room last minute, and compare and contrast? How much is the price difference, quality and type of room, etc?
For this place, do I think it was worth the price, no not really, especially not if it was booked well in advance.
The reason for my suggestion is that I have paid over the usual price for hotels before a couple of times, somewhat begrudgingly, but they have been more of the necessity and at short notice type accommodation, rather than choosing a place for a city break or something.
And also still both were still cheaper than this place! (one inc Breakfast, other room only)
But it would be interesting to see, considering you know what you're looking at/for etc in a hotel
Theyâre living on another planet. Iâve worked in a Forbes 5* hotel in a superb area and the breakfast wasnât that much. And yes. That was in an expensive area of London, something that the hotel you stayed in does not share.
Insane.
That's ridiculous for a cuppa and very expensive for 1 night!! Good video as always tim x
Sharing the bed with someone! đ I think you need to rephrase that and say sharing it with Gabby đ
Noted lol
no he wants to share with 4 people since he said its big enough for four people
and I would be worried about him not saying that he wanted to be in bed with Gabby. hehe
Tim you have to visit northern Ireland were I'm from and do the causeway coast, the scenery is one of the best in the world
Had a work function there last year. Loved the unique quirkiness of the place.
Curious place â€
Great video thanks Tim. Maximalist I believe interior designers call chucking loads of clashing stuff in a room these days! London prices are stupidly greedy
Very true
It sort of looks like a King-size bed, Tim. That man on the wall kind of looks like he's about to clean the Queen's nose for her, or buff it up a little.
The hallway is creepy.
I am staying at the Hub by Premier Inn Westminster Abbey. The Abbey is half a block away from me! The other way down the street on Tothill Street, on the corner, is the Blue Boar pub. Very good food and the host and the wait-people are so nice.
I did feel like someone could hide behind the curtains
@@WalkWithMeTim Your reply to my comment is funny, Tim! Did you check in the closets, too?
Gwen (moonwalk), normally I'm watching your videos from my home 60 miles south of Seattle.
I was glad you like the Premier Inns ... I do, too! Perfect for me for eight nights!
Take care .....
WOW! That bed looks amazing, pretty sure it's a king size based on the nearly square dimensions...and that tea pot kettle, so cute, I want one! Overall I found the aesthetics very weird yet it all seems to work (like you said, so many unique details)...all the things they do with lighting is very cool; I like that they have motion sensors to save electricity (despite the difficulty seeing in the dimness). Even the retro telephone is nicer than the ones you had in your "7 star" Dubai suite (those phones stuck out like sore thumbs HAHA)! Thanks for the video!
"Don't forget your camera, or you'll miss out on 'Instagram opportunities'" made me throw up in my mouth a little haha.
A spy-hole in the toilet??!!! What the heck???
You should stay at The Hex hotel based at the hive which is the retail section of Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster South Yorkshire. I believe you can get rooms with balconies facing the animals. Love the videos!
Loving the videos !!! Thank you đ
Glad you like them!
I really like the quirkiness of this hotel. I love the Britishness of it, from the Kings guard chair to the street signs. Iâm going to have to find that ceramic teapot kettle.. I LOVE it.
I was amazed, very arty. Very expensive and Breakfast should be included. Next Hotel to stay would be good to see what you think is The Mermaid Inn, Rye, East Sussex. Never stayed their, Very Good food and a very popular. Famous and full of history.
yesss!! was hoping for a new 'walk'! Thanks! Keep 'em coming!
Biggest fan from the Netherlands
Awesome! Thank you!
Oh my gosh I think that would give me a headache. As for the corridor scary.
Maybe try Stanley House Hotel in Clitheroe. It would be a nice one for you and Gaby x
Great video again Tim. I think the hotel is very tacky and will look really bad when it gets scuffed up a bit and stuff breaks. I almost feel angry at the price of the tea and breakfast. Price of room is heaps as well.
Totally agree
The things in the drawer are called drawer organisers. It keeps things neat and tidy in otherwise messy drawers.
That's why London although expensive is such a great city. Beautiful when you have money. Wow so different to your place in Bournemouth like a town gone downhill to a city that's great. Nice stuff Tim
Amazing show. I think this hotel TMI is a understatement. At least the elevator is ckill.đ
Trearddur bay hotel, Anglesey. Would love to see what that's like. Looks beautiful zxx
I was surprised by the price. I expected it would be far more than that! Hotel prices are insane at the moment, especially in the capital. Some Premier Inn rooms can be that expensive. It looks a very quirky hotel, I quite like it. Maybe not enough to stay there but at least itâs a bit different to your normal chain hotels.
Great video Tim thank you for posting, this hotel looks like something in the future, love your room đ
when you opened the lift door onto floor 7 it gave me tower of terror vibes. i was waiting for the ghosts to appear and then the drop to start

Very funky and patriotic. Like the big bed . Thank you for sharing. Will check it out in future . Cheers Tim đ.

Hi Tim, I would love to see you visit the Brewdog Hotel. Thanks.
Living not to far from Islington (closer to Shoreditch), I can tell you that prices like that are the norm for the area. What used to be a predominately working class population has now become rather gentrified (don't you know đ€Ł) and everything aimed at well to do middle class locals and tourists. The poor old natives like me, are gradually being pushed out and priced out. BTW, the Henry VIII theming in the bathroom is due to the Toilet being called a Throne in some quarters. Great vlog as usual.
This place is nuts! Just the sort of mad place I like, not too keen on the spooky corridor đźand what about Henry in the bog đđ OMG that ventilation noiseâčïž yes, too pricey đł
Love your videos Tim. If you're ever up north, would love to see you stay in Lumley Castle in Durham or The Rookery Nook in Haworth is beautiful x

"Well you can get at least four people in it"...We have all accepted Tim's jokes about the size of the showers, but now he's using the same for the beds ... Far too many jokes there... We love you.
225 quid, without breakfast that's insanely expensive, when paying 225 quid you expect more. and a good night's sleep. A place I would love to see you're reaction, and review is a place called Gateway Apartments located in Leeds. Your content always makes my day. thanks Tim
I agree
Even worse, it's ÂŁ255 with a discount.
