Yes, its sympathetic resonance. The kick drum is causing the ring as they had very similar tuning. That was fixed before we started tracking... usually moving the pitch up or down a little on the floor tom will fix this problem. One could also change the tuning on the kick drum with the same affect. Joe M
No, I did not use Slate Samples. That is the sound of his snare with good compression on the top and bottom snare mics, a slight gate on the bottom snare to maintain even decay, and finally... great playing of course! Hayden hits very consistant which is why he is an easy drummer to record. Joe M
Hayden Scott is a BEAST!
This drummer deserves to be in an elevated drum stage all the time
He is, with ghost
@@keironrose2653 Since 2017 right ?!

He is a nameless ghoul. He doesnt speak. Ha-ha Ghost
He's got an awesome gig. Nameless Ghoul
That drummer's head bobbing is the best thing about this video.
Really intense drumming, that's sick. Love it.

Great video, cheers. C:
Nice mix sound!
Did you use some Slate samples within the mix (on the snare, for example)?
he was mouthing "I'm the man, I'm the man" and guess what? He, is the man, is the man, is the man...
haha... I would have thought the same without hearing the 'Full Mix'! Thanks for listening,
Joe M

What configuration do you have the AKG 414's in? Thanks
I've heard it said both ways fromdifferent people and would you say that drums should be panned from the drummer's or audience's perspective?
Just pay attention to the face of the drummer when the engineer explains the setup
that was also my first impression
Which drum heads you used for toms ?
+Drum Tidum I'm guessing Remo Emperor coated
Nevermind, heard the full mix LOL
Not bad! But not impresed either! I loved the snare drum and the floor tom the way it sounds.
how to record drums, step 1: get a good drummer :)
