Minor compression. No gates whatsoever. The session goal wasn't to create the "World's Best Drum Sound", but to generate something that served the band, and more importantly, the song. It's an art, and while there's also a good amount of science and physics involved, ultimately a successful drum sound is the one that pleases the artist, excites the fans, and improves upon an already great song. Based on that definition, I have not problem confidently saying taht I believe we were successful. :)
thats because the drum doesn't sound natural, it sounds like a Vdrum. its so gated/compressed that you don't hear any of the natural overtones. crap.. imho.
