Their first comment completely slapped me in the face because i have a habit of trying to help those i love to avoid the pitfalls of their negative self talk. I somehow think that because I've listened to a few (more than a few) Abraham Hicks workshops i can teach them about creating what they don't want (which is totally B.S.). My spouse who was months away from death, (with stage three cancer) was ruminating angrily about some trifle and here i come "to her rescue" warning her about how miraculous recoveries don't happen inside an anger-filled tensed up body/mind! All it did was make our last months together full of resentment and acrimony. Talk about making the grieving process harder! But what do you do?! You don't want to chime in and make their bitterness bigger but you also have to know when to bite your tongue and let them stew in their own hot soup. What good is it to have knowledge and not be able to share it with those closest to you!!
I'm sorry for loss. I completely feel you. I still go through this thought process as well here and there. Less often now. Because the one thing that keeps coming to me is the idea that we all have our own journey, according to our soul.
It's so loving of you to want to spread what has helped you, yet not all are ready for it. So at the end of the day, all we have left is love. Love them anyway! That's the bottom line; LOVE ❤️ hope this helps even a little 😊

I’ve learned so much about what I would have done differently since my dad died a year and a half ago too. So much. I play that game too. But we did the best we could and their death makes these lessons we are learning about how to give so much more space to the other person and still just love them anyway stick that much better. Remembering to give grace to those I love who are still here is the best way I can honor my relationship with my Dad I think. I hope. All the best to you on your journey. ❤
Life's a freaking paradox
@blakemoore8063 The problem with these self-help, make your own destiny, choose your probabilities etc., is that they can't help a person deal with loss. Everyone will in some way hit a wall of resistance, a suffering that defines you, an internal limit in your incarnation. For instance, for me it was homosexuality and general dislike of my appearance. No matter how I try to redefine or affirm it will never be for me more then a person limitation and I have to learn to live with. It doesn't help to know that I supposedly chose this life. For some people, the limit will be a parent they've lost, a limb that is deformed, a partnership they ruined, lost years and opportunities, talents they've never had etc. It will manifest as a haunted feeling of unrealised potential, things unsaid and opportunities missed. You can't manifest yourself out such trouble. Your wife must have felt even more resistance and resentment because as many when we first learn about Law of Attraction and similar concepts, there can arise great deal of anger and guilt, as though the person is at fault for not making the best out of life. You did the best you could.
On a deeper level we telepathically communicate soul to soul an she knew it was said out of desire to help and love. In my opinion there's no book or teaching that satisfactorily solves the question of suffering and I have read many, from Seth, Steiner, Buddhism, New Thought movements etc. Each person must move in his own suffering and explore new meaning.
Thank you, Melissa, for creating this conversation! I love how Armand & Kosta bring us invaluable wisdom and insights through levity and playful humor.... Humor is a high vibratory state. Their example and embodiment of joy is as nourishing as the wisdom in their stories and experiences.
