Nothing like a crossbow that’s accurate up to 10 feet
For something that was made in a week, it ain't bad
Cross bows aren't meant for long distance its mid range like a pistol

lottaray keener... you could hit a target from 200 feet away if you’re good with a crossbow. If you don’t care about hitting a target the bolt could fly for at least 1000 feet.
I was expecting the strength test to be bashing the bow against a steel plate, they surprised me
crayhack it would have made more sense if you said using the bolt because you are not supposed to smack people with the crossbow itself

Alex Darmanjian the arrowhead is still technically a blade because it is a hard object that is gradually flattened toa edge that is meant for cutting

and its the edge that is for cutting while the tip/point for penetration

As a lifelong Archer and hunter I always test my arrows sharpness on balloons. Balloons are notoriously impervious to arrows.
I was ready for the strength test to be them smashing the bows against steel armor, I was disappointed

Major design flaw on the second crossbow. Having that curve at the end pretty much ruins it's primary function.
Always make absolutely sure the flight deck is straight and true.

It's to protect them from flying wooden splinters and small metal shards... they're not firing the crossbow at them lol

I made my first blade with a home fire pit, an electric air mattress blower, a 2 pound sledge and a railroad tie. All within 6 weeks of first seeing the show. I'd always wanted to try it, but the show was the biggest motivator.

fun fact: historically bolt heads were not typically hardened much at all and shafts would shatter all the time on impact. Really stupid to test the integrity of something designed to be disposable.
not only that, tempered glass is not easy to break with something smashing into it. I deal with lots of tempered glass daily and it can take a beating, while sometimes it isnt as strong and can break quite easily.

Interesting change of pace from just normal melee weapons
I have seen this for the crossbows and bows on this show and all have been shockingly underpowered, going 20ft limply isn't a functional projectile. Plus they seem to have no concept of hardening the arrow tips

standard tempered glass is harder than steel. It just isn't tough, sharper point takes advantage of that introducing stress. That is why you can score a peice of glass and then cleanly break it across the scoring.

They shot against the same piece of glass so it's a big advantage to go 2nd
It's not about what the bolts do to the glass but what the glass does to your bolts. Even if the first glass was weakened, he still penetrated the second glass easily.

@@keselekbakiak creator. Before he was famous he did quite a bit of blades. Mostly basic outdoor hunting types. Then he took the jack frost route and became a designer. Aka come up with a design then the company just manufactured molds and u get the idea

First time I have seen someone make a weapon that will NOT keeeel
I once built a crossbow out of a bicycle flag pole, some hanger wire, a 2x4, a pair of .22 caliber LR cases, bicycle brake cable and some sheet metal. It would send a 9" hanger wire dart completely through a 12"-thick pine tree.
Later, I built a ballista out of a truck leaf spring and sent a flaming broomstick across the York River (east of the bridge) on the 4th of July (I really should have picked a day with smaller police presence but whatever).
