Things I didn't expect to hear today.
It's been banned from Little Cup in both of the generations it's been in. Within the context of the metagame where you only have first stage evolutions, it actually is broken.
Cutiefly and it's evolved from, Rimbombee, are actually very good Pokemon. Fairy/bug is a unique type combination (plus being a fairy type pretty much already assures it'll be at least decent) in top of being the fastest user of sticky web as well as having access to quiver dance makes them Pokemon not to underestimate
@@matthewkuscienko4616 Ribombee not so much tbh... but at least it has a role as a sticky web setter on higher tiers and can try to win with quiver dance in PU.

@@Stoic_Revanchist Arbok is legit in gen 3 NU. Really really good, one of my favorite mons in the tier. Band set is fearsome, he also runs more defensive glare sets. Counters hitmonchan well, intimidate is great utility. Can even run shed skin and rest if it wants to, but dropping intimidate is usually not worth it at all. Base 80 is also a great speed tier when the majority of mons are base 65 or lower. In terms of offensive threats though, he's one of the slower ones. Most offensive threats in the tier are base 90-97 (no base 100's, raticate is the fastest at 97). His access to earthquake is a big deal when the majority of offensive threats have to settle with hidden power ground. He only really needs sludge bomb and earthquake to have adequate coverage, though maybe hidden power ghost as well to keep haunter from freely switching in. Super fun tier if you ever want to try it. Wailord is the universally agreed upon best mon, can't get more fun than that!

Farfetch is actually viable in Petit Cup in Pokemon Stadium and yea Peck was used mostly to hit Ghastly which it’s not like it’s gunna beat anyways with Gastly T-Bolt
Gen 1 had a ton of Pokemon with terrible move pools
I mean slash, mirror move and rock throw are used
Most flying moves in gen 1 had an effective power of 35, making peck as usable as any of you wanted a flying move and weren’t named Dodrio, Fearow, or Zapdos

I remember in my 1st playthru of Pokemon X, I got the traded Farfetch'd and because of how pointlessly, depressingly busted the EXP share has become and it still hasn't been downscaled or fixed in Gen 8, I got it all the way up to Lv 100 before I even made it to the Elite 4.
That's how pathetic the Kalos Elite 4 is. Embarrassing. Alola doesn't even have an official league and they still posed more challenge then the Kalos League ever did.

Sure, Farfetch'd wasn't good in the competitive scene, but it has the distinct honor of being a main pokemon in the XY speedrun. You can trade for one with a fixed nature in the first town and it's by far the most efficient way to demolish the first gym. It lasts all the way until after glittering cave where runners can first pick up the next main, a Hawlucha.

The one time a Sword based Pokemon isn't extremely powerful in it's debut Generation, unlike Kartana,Aegislash and Zacian.

That's just the thing: swords dance is an excellent boosting move, and there have been Pokemon every single generation that have been able to use it successfully as a result. But Farfetch'd having such horrible stats (seriously, it's highest stat only capped off at base 65, come on) as well as a not very useful typing defensively makes me pretty unsurprised that it was so bad for so many generations. I honestly wasn't expecting it to actually be good in gen2, even if it IS solely because of baton pass.

@@Nosretep Gallade was never amazing, but it has the attack power and type coverage to succeed (seriously, the sheer number of moves of various types it can choose from is staggering). However, it's base 80 speed (which it unfortunately has no way to boost) and lackluster physical defense were the main things holding ot back. I would say it's more flawed than actually bad or good
