Happy valentine's day sweetheart. From Edmonton Alberta canada. From my heart to yours I wish you the best of times thanks for your videos. I love them! Yours truly justin..
I would be very happy to do so.
I have watched this many times. I use it as backgroundsounds while I´m studying. Its perfect asmr for studies.
Vanessa, you are, I think, the only CZcamsr who allows us to experience the outdoors without all the talking and noise...Thank you so much. 🙏🖖
Rune Bertram does this in his Bushcraft videos too. I agree, it’s a better experience.
@@yankeeblaq7121 Thanks I'll check that out.
@@yankeeblaq7121 Wow, his photo looks like a crazy guy, but the videos are actually really good! Thanks for the tip👍.
@@rooramblingon895 Most welcome
A woman of action. Badazz lil lady.
Well, that was beautiful ... and the scenery wasn't too shabby either! My paternal grandfather was born in the Black Forest in 1888 (probably in a town or city), immigrated to Chicago with my great grandparents in 1890. He quit school after the eighth grade to go to work, started his own business in his late teens or early twenties, married my grandmother at 32, sold his business to his brothers and went to work for my grandmother's family business, raised five children, and had twenty-one grandchildren. He was seventy years old when I was born (my dad was his youngest child), so I didn't get to know him well.
The best thing about winter camping: No ticks. 🥶💙
No ticks, no people! Perfect!
Once it warms up above freezing during the day, they are out. Had multiple run ins with ticks while snow was still on the ground in UP of Michigan at the end of April.
Why did you remind me of that✌🏻
Laura yes last year in Michigan was very bad
I've watched a lot of your videos, and this one was one of the best ever. Good quality sound of the forest in the background, beautiful cinematography with the 3 cameras used, and of course your knowledge and experience of survival bushcraft style. Thank you
I love waking to the sound of the early morning in the forest. It's more intense than the morning chorus in the garden
I like the videography and the mood in the video. No over-dramatic music, just the sounds of the wood and the fire. (nice job avoiding any drone sounds, btw!)
The woods invites you. Welcome back Vanessa.
Glad to see you doing well. I loved all the technical aspects of the film and especially liked the music. We just saw several inches of snowfall here in Pennsylvania, USA and this video makes me long for the nearby Pocono Mountains. Nice work! All the best to you and yours.
Incredible !!! Bavaria is one part of Germany I have always wanted to visit and seeing the Black Forest so beautifully documented makes me want to go even more. Thank you, may your future travels be safe and blessed Vanessa !!!
I am currently playing this music to assist a little young person go to sleep. This young person has been through so much trauma as a child and night time is a trigger. This music has helped her so much and really helps her see there are safe adults in this world. Thank you for such beautiful music. You are helping so many without even realising. Blessings, love and light to everyone who comes across this text
Seeing a forest with scant undergrowth is surreal. Compared to my area in Florida, this is heaven.
hi! I also had my first survival in the forest. I built a shelter and spent the night. It was great. Thank you for your motivation!
This was beautifully done Vanessa! It was the perfect video. I liked the music and the entire production. Thank you. It is good to see you are doing well. Well done from Portland, Oregon USA
Everything is done with typical German efficiency, preparations, planning;the whole gamut😅, simply awesome, she is literally the perfect epitome of being well prepared & equipped for any bushcraft. Hats off.
Great job Vanessa! Beautiful place to camp! Thank you for the scenery views!!!
Great video Vanessa! Like good old times! Thanks you so much!
Keep up the good work!
Such wonderful camera work and editing. The drone stuff is fantastic. You deserve an award for excellent video production.
Alone huh ????
Solo ? Haha
@@markcarter3797 of course she was not alone. Someone was controlling that drone. And they were setting up the shots. Looks pretty professional. On top of that she cooked up two large pieces of chicken and only ate one of them. My guess is the cameraman turned off her Lantern after she went to bed and got in their tent out of camera shot
Vanessa, simply beautiful!!! As a side note, your smile is back and both your eyes are blinking together... Beautiful beautiful progress! God has blessed you my sweet friend.
Much love to you,
Kathy
Your videography skills have taken a huge leap forward! The camera work is so much better than in the past.
But the audio is far superior to what you’ve done previously. Wow! Extraordinary sound.
Not only are you obviously a highly skilled woodsman, but you are a wonderful cinematographer as well. 9 out of 10 feature films aren’t photographed this well.
Also I always take note when a CZcamsr is confident enough NOT to talk during a substantial video. To me it means you trust your subject--in this case, THE WOODS and your at-homeness in it.
What a beautiful setting. Thank you for this video.
How do you come to the conclusion that she is a woodsman? A highly skilled one at that. She didnt build anything in this Video, she uses the skeleton of an already existing shelter. She didnt chop a tree not even split wood for the fire. All she did was collecting Branches already laying on the ground. Oh and of course stones from this ultra convinient pile of stones only 10 meters away from the shelter. And she used the saw 2-3 times. Every child can do that absolutly no skill is needed. She didnt even put her gloves in sticks to put them near the fire to dry them. She hold them in her hands.
I guess you believe anything. She was entertaining though. Not to burst your bubble, but she was running alone. Who do you think they'd be other chicken? Who do you think was doing all that drone flying when she was putting branches on the Fire? My guess is she has a friend that knows what they're doing or she hired someone. It's a lot of work to set up a camera the way they would have needed to be set up. And drones will do some stuff. But not all of the things this one was doing like repositioning its camera in flight to stay on her when it was in Hover mode. Or the little flybys. It was a pretty good production. But she was not alone.
@@rangi001 these people believe what they want to believe. At the end of the day it was entertaining. We know she didn't do the camera work. We know another person was there because of the extra chicken leg and the way the Drone was being operated. But if you want to put on a good quality video sometimes it's worth the money for effort to have someone help you out. I imagine a lot of these bushcrafting videos have outside help. Also she's a girl so you really don't expect her to cut down a large tree in the snow. I'm not even sure she cut the limbs for her shelter cover or browse bed. But that's okay. You can tell by the looks on her face she was acting. And a very attractive woman doing stuff is completely walkable
What a wonderful way to put Gods handwriting on display. So beautiful! Love you Vanessa! Blessings!
Absolute the perfect video for me, dark forest like a fantasy movie!! Congratulation beautiful Vanessa for this incredible amazing fantasy dark nature video💚💙❤️🧡💛🌴🌳🌲🏞️🌱
It's amazing how much a drone can improve the cinematography! Excellent ambience with the music too! Very relaxing :)
The cinematography is incredible, just beautiful and relaxing, you should look into directing film and this could be part of your portfolio
What a fantastic video, the quiet, just natural sounds a tonic. Most enjoyable your drone film, you make it much more interesting and it really sets you apart.
The beautiful part about winter camping, the snow reflects and it doesn't get totally dark. I've only done it a couple times.
You are living a dream, Vanessa! How I would love to spend the rest of my life in the forests such as the ones you visit! Great video!
Eating what exactly?
@@whynottalklikeapirat mushrooms, deervanison, Schweinebraten ;) :p and drinking spruce tea haha
@@koenvandam1281 Being a bit literalist here, mushrooms are in season for a fairly short time, there is not a lot of energy in them but they usually take a fair amount of energy to find and gather and as you empty the immediate vicinity, you’ll have to trek further to find any, hunting is hit and miss, requires practice knowledge, tools and its own set of resources and again it tends to be a fairly high betting of calories on the outcome, and preserving any of what you catch for extended periods of time is rather a challenge unto itself unless it’s freezing, in which case exposure and calory loss are more immediate concerns. While sortin all that out other sources would be needed for sustenance. But most people “living a dream” would pretty quickly run out of ANY resources if they did not grow up living off the land to begin with. In most northern places you can’t really survive at all in the long run unless you spent late spring, summer and early fall gathering and preserving resources for the rest of the year. To most, the dream would pretty much become a nightmare within a few days. Lets face it - unless a person has knowledge, honed skills, experience, proper tools and equipment, the right psychological attitude and self-knowledge and ample time to prepare and maintain food and resource stores on top of avoiding exposure and keeping a fire going - I’d say they’d be pretty much fucked … but hey - there is always the spruce tea. Nothing like a bit of evergreens vitamin shot, to boost morale as you slowly starve and freeze to death :D
Personally - I could maaaaybe manage a summer in arctic conditions if I had a tarp, a sleeping system and my spearfishing gear and I was in the right location. There’d be mostly white fish of the general cod or flounder variety, without much fat, perhaps the occasional salmon or trout or halibut as the season progresses. Best bet would be to find ways to max out on fishing for mackerel when the water heats up enough that they come around, because they’re so fatty, but at the same time they chase away the cod and pollock and they’re fast and more difficult to catch with a speargun - and you gotta be where the school passes. A fishing rod would be more efficient for that. And then the rest of it would be crab, mussles and seaweed and mushrooms and berries. But even under those circumstances I’d be loosing several kilos a week so it’s not at all viable, and once the autumns storms start moving in and the water cool further - things would begin to get REALLY difficult to sustain. But hey - with a bit of luck there would still be a spruce tree somewhere close …
@@whynottalklikeapirat haha I didnt think somebody would take my reaction serious because it obvious want ment to be. Bambi lives to see another day ;)
@@koenvandam1281 YEah it’s obvious, hence “being a bit literalist”. So you can relax - noone took you seriously after all.
It seems so easy, when you build your shelter, a fireplace and endure in the cold. I suppose this is a result from years of training and practice. Very impressive and educational! Thank you for charing this with us!
Vanessa , Drone video of the campfire might be the best video I have seen on CZcams. This is your your best video ever.
Nice to see you out again vanessa. So your in the black forest. You did alot of hiking . I admire that in a person. You are getting stronger ,my. Dear. Hope you stsy warm tonight. We are getting snow tomorrow and monday. Calling for 24 inches of snow

Thank you for your efforts
that was a great adventure..i liked the drone you had over the fire..and the pine trees you used as a shelter..nice quite woods it seems like you used this adventure to gather your thoughts and stress release valve..all due to the tick bite you had some months back..i hope and pray that things are better now for you...just keep up all the hard work you do and keep the faith ,,and things will be awsome for you as they always are.....god bless you and lots of family love....gary
Hi Vanessa. Your productions just get better and better. Some fantastic shots in this one and it's great to see you looking so well.
Those lanterns are amazing. I had one hung up when a terrible storm blew through, wind so strong it flattened the tarp I was under...lantern burned all night long, nary a flicker. Love that thing! You're looking amazing as well, great trip.
I can't express how much I love your videos. They make me feel so warm and peaceful, especially in these turbulent unpredictable times. Danke schon :) Also, looks like your blinking is getting back to somewhere near normal, that's really good to see :)

Thank you so much for this nice comment!
It's interesting how you placed the pine bows - essentially right-side-up. That way they capture snow to add to the structure's insulation. (Of course, you do the opposite in other seasons so as to shed rain.)
Glad I read your comment before I made a dumb comment. Never too old to learn.

That was a wonderful relaxing video. Perfect for a cold day here on the shore of Lake Erie. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
That forest has a completely different mood after it snows. It went from gloomy and gray to bright and crisp. Loved the drone footage. 🙂
I think the same James 🙂
That's some really awesome video work you have done. As always I'm looking forward to following your many adventures.. stay safe ❤️
If all women were like you Vanessa, what a wonderful world this would be. You're such an inspiration.
Someone already made a shelter for her? That’s very nice !
Yeah I was wondering about that, the vid is great but she just walked up to an already made shelter? Perhaps Bigfoot was out there looking after her and wanted to help a beautiful Mädel….
Your running the tranquility of the video - focus on the quietness of the woods and her craftsmanship lol
@Carcroven perhaps it was the cameraman. Not only were they controlling the Drone and getting a bunch of cool footage. Apparently they also got a piece of chicken out of the deal. Of course they had to turn her Lantern off after she went to sleep.🤣🤣🤣
But what the hell it's entertainment.
Simplicity does not preclude mood. I enjoyed this very much. Thank you.
I'm no outdoor person such as your level, but that was not only well presented, but showed your range of skills you have. ( as a photographer I loved how it was shot ). Must admit I've not seen your other videos ( yet but I will ) so it took mea few minutes to realise there was no talking/explaining 'merely' the sounds of the forest and you working. Very, very well done.
What did you really want her to say? The shelter support was already in place. We didn't actually see her cut the limbs for her shelters cover or her brows bed. She did a good job lighting the fire. Although I've never seen anyone drill a hole in a piece of fatwood to carry it on a cord. Not a terrible idea, just never saw it done like that. Like it was made for her. People need to learn that you can't believe everything you see. This was entertainment. I guess you can't even sing a song on here without it being a copyright infringement. So what can she really do if she's not actually teaching a skill. Everything was pretty self-explanatory.
I’m so elated watching this episode! So relaxing indeed! Peaceful! Can I come with you please 😊
Your videos are so professional. Your camera man (or woman) does a great job of making you look alone.

It's interesting how after watching 100's of outdoor camping and bush craft videos, all
over the planet, I have never seen 1 of the people run into Big Foot.

That’s because as all these folks head to the countryside / forests etc...the towns and cities are empty, so Big Foot is probably chilling in some studio apartment right now watching Sky
You don’t just “see” big foot, he’s very blurry especially on film
And how many grizzlys or cougars have you seen in all these videos?
Great video. I especially liked the location. My heritage is german. Dad's side came from Bavaria and Mom's side from the Black Forest area. And through you I've now seen both. Thank you.

Like Your Long Hair , who’s flying the drone? Love your videos God bless you,😍🙏😇👍🇺🇸
Vanessa, I look forward to seeing the equipment and techniques you use for this video. You are a sweet, beautiful, very talented lady-and a very tough, capable woman. Stay warm. :) Pete in frigid(-25C) NW Montana
PS Happy Valentine's Day to the most beautiful bushcrafter on CZcams :) :)
I fo this for work on a regular basis. Camp in the forest, hiking tracking people. Its just the perfect way to find yourself.
I love winter camping. No bugs !!!
I miss your voice. Stunning footage
Yes, a little of her lovely voice would be good :)
I wish I could find a woman who likes to be in the woods and injoy nature such as myself
I have the same issue... all my friends and family just think I’m crazy. I always hear “what’s wrong with your nice warm house”? 🙄
Well, nothing... my house is great (and warm) but I also love my nice warm sleeping bag, and a camp fire, and the woods, and nature and just feeling ALIVE!! ❤
I love being in the woods and building shelters. Camping at all
I' live in the woods was married been there I love being alone and doing every thing sort of silo - I always have dog's with me lol
Same here same here I'd like that alot
Thanks for having us along Vanessa. I really felt I was out there with you. I couldn't stop watching for even a moment with all your camera work, amazing work.I wait for your vlogs every week now with anticipation. Danke, ich mag die augen machen und neue haarfarbe auch.
Beautiful video. Great job with the camera and capturing the atmosphere. Thumbs up.
you're not alone isn't it?
I love women who let their "bushcraft" go wild!!
First time viewing ur outdoor journey's and love the camera angles n drone work. Sound really pulled me in as it felt like we were all watching from a distance. Lol.
Great video Vanessa. Love the camera - drone - footage.
Well done. You're looking fully recovered. Beautiful.
Thank you so much Walter!
There's the perfect women I like so much. You are so wonderfull to watch.
She is my wife.
I missed your commentary with the video. You mentioned being alone but someone had to have been doing the camera work.
@AlaskaBushratJohn i understand but when she was walking the camera followed her plus the drone was overhead as she worked with the fire. Nothing wrong with that but she couldn't have been alone.
The drone and the camera following you at ground level certainly indicates that you were not alone unless there is some type of magical drone that can follow you on it own?
Understand i truly enjoy Vanessa's videos. I just made a comment, not a criticism.
Yeah you can't get some of these shots using drone by your owb
First time i saw your video, i go straight to hit the subscribe button. Very calming and mesmerizing videos. 👍
Really lovely photography and music. I enjoyed watching this! I enjoy silence. I've spent most of my adult life working in the woods and forests of the wexter US. I've been out in the woods in all seasons and all types of weather. I loved my work and that's honestly what motivated me. I can't speak for Venessa but for me living in the woods was never fun, exciting, or romantic. There's nothing fun about being cold, dirty, and wet, and if you spend days, weeks, even a few months living around a fire, even with proper gear, these situations will inevitably occur. I think the worst parts for me are being wet and cold, and that's happened more times than I can count. Regardless, I really loved the life. It builds self-reliance and confidence. Theodore Roosevelt called it 'the strenuous life.' Living outdoors isn't for everyone but I can't imagine working in an office or indoors except intermittently. I don't know Vanessa's personal life but she sure seems comfortable with aloneness and roughing it. After living out of a tent at 6,500 ft 90 minutes by truck from the nearest anything from mid-July to late October, I confess being home, clean, and in a comfortable bed was really quite welcome but for me it has always been a mixed blessing. I wonder if she feels that way when she returns home?
Be better if you did your own filming, instead of someone else taking a video of you dramatically walkin through the countryside...
While playing weird music in the background...
Lose the Garmin...
And do you speak?...
That Garmin might save her life!
No Problem, I cant make a Video that everyone like. Maybe you like the next one more 😉
This Forrest is absolutely beautiful very calm and peaceful :)
I'm amazed that you do all these great filming by yourself...
That's a lot of walking!! It's beautiful ❤️
