I never go anywhere without a 10 by 10 foot waterproof tarp. Unexpected rain can cause too many problems without it.
Believe it or not. I will soon be adding this to my survival emergency kit. After seeing it used so many times on so many survival programs.

For the dry wood box I have made something a fireplace using two bags of concrete and clay I find in my woods I build frame out of wood and then mix clay with concrete let dry it has three levels and I make a wooden door for it. Hope this helps

Hi there Vanessa i am happy to see you with Ika working at the camp your doing a good job, i think what you had for dinner was chuck steak very tasty, I like the way you care and respect the space for the animals, it's hard to keep the wood dry without a tarp,🤔 you might have to build a third wall and a small door where you can leave it open when you're not there. For me the best part of camping was evening watching the fire die down, and the coldness of the night coming in. I enjoy watching your camping experience as it reminds me of mine, years ago. I'm also glad you have a loyal friend by your side. Night creatures like to explore!

I am glad to see an English Vanessa Blank video again. I assume you don't want to leave plastic in the forest, but if your coming back for sure, and since water is very heavy, you could leave a rain catch funneled into a jar for you and Aika or even animals and birds. Maybe go camping when it's sunny out, you can bring your tarps with you to cover your roof and fire wood supply so you and Aika can be warm, dry, and cozy at night. I didn't think there were bears in Germany, but I'm sure you could find bear spray in camping stores to feel more protected. Great video 👍

I've been watching you since you first started your channel and I've tried to comment on them all. Your looking good.
You need the tarp over the fire pit. A raised bed to sleep on. Some big stones (Flat rock) to cook on, a kaffeepot, and a rain poncho for when it rains.
Now this is the Vanessa I miss the most. A bushcraft video is not a bushcraft video without you. A campsite is never ever fully complete. Always improving whether it be expanding the outer wind walls or a place to put your equipment or build a better fire place. Well done Vanessa. Ich Liebe Dich Soooo !!!!

Great video. :) You asked for suggestions for storing your reserved firewood stash. If it were me, I would pile it between two trees and find loose bark to cover it to keep the majority of precipitation off of it. Love your videos. btw, using that saw chain is an interesting concept. Wish I could have seen the teeth a little closer to see how the cutting teeth were positioned.

The forest camp roof needs a water 💧 proof canvas or tarpaulin then be covered in foliage , the forest camp opening maybe make a swing gate , it nice to see you smiling in the rain 🌧.

For your firewood shelf, if you brace it with sticks in an X pattern, it should be much more stable against tipping over.
One solution for the extra wall is a barrier which is placed away from the gap. Place it outside and in front, with space at each end to walk through. Make the wall a little longer than the gap to give you wind protection.
Perhaps make a roof for your fire, to help you in bad rain.
A hot shower and a cold beer....restores one's sense of equanimity.

Good to see you back in the woods, Vanessa. Your wall problem - Make one longer than the other while leaving a gap to walk through or build a third wall at the entrance with gaps at each side.
More rain protection without plastic - Bark shingles. I noticed a tree behind the cut pine branches that looked like it was hit by lightning. Is it dying? If so, You could use bark from that to start.
Firewood protection instead of A-frame rack. Assemble rails over far wall for a roof to hold bark shingles.
Need a ladder? Build one starting with 2 logs crossed at the top, just like you did for your firewood stand. Tie steps down the two logs. Make sure you wrap tight between the horizontal step and the vertical support. Less slipping with bank line vs paracord. Sharpen bottom of verticals to get secure grip on the ground. After assembly, place the top V against the tree. It will keep the ladder from shifting. One that also uses notches, but I've made one very secure without. - czcams.com/video/mo_kxZHyxPQ/video.html

Hey princess my beautiful spirit guide. When using the chained saw you have stay away from the lean of the tree. Start at the lean of the tree and then rotate at a 45 degree angle. This takes the weight of the blade and hopefully you can cut enough to just push it over like you did the silky saw. Those pull saws can bind p-r-e-t-t-y badly. But you still as beautiful as ever and the baby wolf there is learning to be stubborn (again) 😂. But glad your up and about have been watching your other channel. But have to find a good translation apt again for some reason mine is not acting right. Be safe and keep the knowledge you share coming.

For the door make it like a swinging gate love your videos for your roof take off the moss and put a tarp on then go with the moss but you stay safe out there love from America ❤
I suggest you throw a tarp over the roof as a barrier and then put the moss over the tarp, but leave enough tarp at the entrance so you can bring it down at night for privacy/security.
