Having been born in Maine, fishing, hunting, and a private pilot, I have seen , and enjoyed the Maine outdoors, on many occasions, and in many ways, I so appreciate what I see you do. I am now 78, live in Washington State, and DO miss Maine a lot. Keep up the great videos, as it reminds me of what a beautiful state Maine is, and how much I still appreciate the Maine wilderness, and miss camping in the wilds of Northern Maine....:-)
One trick my brother taught me, before you pitch the tent, stomp the snow down with your snowshoes, let it sit for awhile, 15 minutes or so, then put up your tent. The snow will firm up and you won't have sticks poking you all night.
Personally I carry a snow blower with me . I'll remove all the snow and lay down a rubberized tarp first. But that's me ...
I suppose it depends on what kind os snow you have, looked a bit crusty to pack with snowshoes to me.

I use a blow dryer till the ground is dry and then use my lawnmower to keep grass down. 😅

She makes it look easy. The reality is my hands stop functioning without gloves at about 20° which is not uncommon in Maine, and it's impossible to just walk around in the woods in many places in winter. Even with snow shoes. So she's got a good snow pack there and judging by the consistency of the snow it looks like it's about 30° which really isn't bad. For walking. But most importantly she makes it look like she's really enjoying it and that's what's the key here. I'm surprised how quick and easy it is to set up a hot tent like that

Well done! Thats how ya winter camp. I have two Smokehouse hammock hot tents and just picked up the Pomoly dome x4. Hot tip for ya, always use big burley pegs. A little snow and ice, some frozen duff, and a six inch stake is only in the ground an inch or two. Once the stove starts thawing things, pegs can come out. Keep gettin out!

That looked like fun. Thanks for taking us along. My brother and I got lost snowmobiling from KI to Millinocket and back. We thought we were going to have to camp way out there but we eventually found our way back. It is a good thing to do just in case you ever have todo it, it won't be so bad since you have already done it before.

The hat may be too big but looks cute on ya. Waterproof pants are the trick. Love the little stove. Nice tent. What more could you want. Junie seems to be OK long as you got some feed. Warm cozy place. Chicken and veggie stew. Oatmeal and bacon can't go wrong. Coffee to warm the insides. True camper you are. Nice to get away and have some peace and quite!

Wow what a great video. I learned a bunch just watching. The only negative I see is you have to take a wet tent home and then find a way to dry it before you put it away. Oh and by the way that bacon you fried up smelled good!! Thanks for sharing your adventures

In the winter and using a hot tent a cot is the best just getting up a little puts you in the stoves heat. You would be pulling it in so it’s not that much more to carry. Have fun stay safe.

Hello from Newfoundland! What a fun trip! I've found that it's better to go at least two nights in hot tent to make it worth while. Was that ginger oatmeal?!?! Never seen that before. I love fjallraven pants, I have 3 pairs. I like your sweater, the pattern is really cool. I always wear breathable layers too and haven't used a proper winter coat in years. I recommend a thermarest sleeping pad for underneath you but there are also lots of cheaper options. Thick yoga mats, tinfoil blankets, vehicle window shields are reflective as well and have some cushion to them. Pieces of packing foam make good sitting pads and you can lay on several of them. Looking forward to watching again!

I have the same stove and tent, but got a Tegiman and gave my daughter the teepee. The inside stayed wet and I didn't like rubbing it with my back especially reaching for the zipper .
Just found you page, loved it...first yt channel where they dont have an accent, LOL....noting like our New England accents they say.....be safe and cannot wait for the next posting
Great little tent and I'm sure it was only because it was the first time you set it up next time be a flick LOL. I need to get myself a teepee type tent that's easy to set up my prospector style tent needs poles cut every time or a location with pole already set up especially if I'm doing it alone , which I usually am. I can totally relate to the dog stealing my bed happens to me every time , actually your dog looks just like mine LOL.
