Magical winter wall tent camping- with a WOOF and a MOOSE!

- Sometimes all you need is some down time outside around a fire. Good food, doggos, some silence and solid sleep. The wall tent is a pretty good delivery system for winter camping!
This tent has been up year-round for 4 years. Keep a rain fly on it (helps protect from UV and forest debris), keep the critters out (squirrels, mice, etc), and keep the snow off it. Build it on a platform the exact size of the tent- so when it rains it won't collect water on the platform and drain into the tent.
When you're not using it, remove the chimney stack and cover the hole with the flap. You've not truly enjoyed winter camping until you've camped in a wall tent!

Don't worry about Moose- he doesn't like being by the fire- what a weirdy!! (He doesn't like woodstoves either- sheesh.) And he's hard to get to settle in so I leave the tent zipped half way- he's in and out as he pleases. Oftentimes he's hanging out on the trail just out of sight of the camera. He wasn't in any danger folks... Just being a dog. Also, I had extra supplies (warm boots/coat) in my cedar chests in the tent and fed the dogs off camera. I actually went back out and sat by the fire a bit after I turned the camera off. Remember- you don't see every moment of my life in these videos! Thanks for watching~

Coyotes are a real problem here in the suburbs. They lurk in the bush around parks and playgrounds. They dash out and grab puppies and small dogs, leashed or unleashed. Of course at night, they are amongst houses and apartment buildings grabbing cats. I guess they're easier to catch than all these damn rats.... Is your little dog safe because Wolves are hunted up there and therefore avoid people, and their tasty pets? 🤔. I really enjoy you and your husband's channels, and the collabs you've done with other CZcamsrs! 👃✌️🥰🇨🇦
You are a great doggo mama! Maisy was so happy to be out camping. She’s older now, maybe some arthritis, it feels better in the cold. Moose is a Corgi so he’s out in the perimeter keeping an eye on his herd. Maisy is by her herd. Both living their genes and dreams.

I can't wait to visit the campground in my area and build a soothing fire and just fall asleep by it. The camp hosts laughed last year how I would just fall asleep in my chair by my fire...they were so kind and protective I felt extremely safe there as a solo female camper

Some of us on this planet are definitely over-governed. "Up here" you have to go on-line in February to reserve, IF you're lucky(!), a campsite in the summer....! 🤣🤣😱. How sad!! 👃✌️🥰🇨🇦

I’m so very sorry about your fur baby…I lost mine a year ago….year before that I lost my husband. My doggie had a stroke and my husband back to back heart attacks….about 5-7 mins apart. Still not over it….never will be….but you learn to cope each day. I hope you can enjoy the memories of you and your precious pup……hope your days get easier to deal with. I’m sure you brought much love and happiness to your doggie….he’ll be watching you from that Rainbow Bridge….playing with and making new friends…..and saying “let me tell you about how great my mom is”……😇😌

After watching your videos for many months, I finally did it. I went solo camping in a tent. I am a 59 year old, out of shape woman with very little outdoor experience. I went to a beautiful state park about an hour from my home and reserved a hike in tent site. I recently lost my younger sister to cancer and she loved the outdoors. Today is her birthday and I just got home. I had a beautiful secluded site and a fire pit. It was great to be in the quiet of nature and remember her. Thanks for inspiring me to get out there and get happy!

Suggestion, before you put butter in your pan to fix mushrooms, let the mushrooms cook in a dry pan until the moisture renders out and then add the butter. See if you like the taste better. Just a thought.

A pickup truck camper, a trailer, a wall tent and multiple cabins give you so many options for a weekend getaway, but it also reminds us all of how much work and love you and Dave have to put in to maintain them all❤

❤️ the opening music, it's so 70's 👩 I've gone hiking in the dead of winter and we slept in a lean2, there was a full moon, and with the snow on the ground, the whole forest floor was lit up, I could see off in the distance, thru the trees, several deer, a small herd walking silently thru the forest, they seemed like a family, it was absolutely magical, a full moon really lights up the forest at night, especially with snow on the ground 👩 from: Scranton, Pennsylvania

I love the tent. It looks so cozy. We had an army tent on our land on Lake Ontario as kids. It looked similar to yours, but no stove, which would have been nice! We slept on bed springs 😄 No air mattresses. I guess my Dad was being frugal 😊 Love following your adventures ❤

Hi Brook, love all your videos and all you have accomplished. I found you and also Dave/ Bushradical a few years ago. I lived at Ft Wainwright 2011-2013, while my son-in-law was deployed. I love Fairbanks and went back there 2019 for about a year to stay with friends I made the 1st visit. I'd be there today if any of my kids were there. I'm 75 yrs young, but can't do what I see you accomplish these days. So, watching you & Dave brings me joy, happiness and vicarious living. 😅 Keep doing all your doing. It brings me great joy. That music in the beginning wigged me out! It was very different. As soon as I saw those mushrooms go in the cast iron, I knew a steak was on the way and there was, a big beautiful fat steak LOL.
