Yes, that is how you would do it. Give it 20 turns or so and then just wear it.

What is the base Seiko model? Or it's all submariner parts with seiko movement, dial and so on?
NH35 movement and everything else is sourced aftermarket parts as it is a modified watch, not original like a Seiko 5.

Bob - all my pieces are modded Seikos so it’s aftermarket.
They look like the best choice I've seen. The clasp is usually the weakest link in the chain- not yours!

is this waterproof?
The gaskets are greased and case sealed up. These are modified pieces and I’ve only used them in hand washing and pool environment. Haven’t personally done diving with them. Should be in good shape though.

I really don't get these watches. They seem to be very popular with modders these days. I just don't understand the Seiko branding on something that's built to look exactly like a Rolex. Seiko never made that dial. Why is their logo on it. You could put on your own logo or leave it sterile. The Seiko branding just makes it a fake. And it makes it illegal to build and sell in the US. Why not just put a Rolex logo on it?
These are easy to mod and great for people who want something classic but don’t have $10K for a Rolex. These are all Seiko NH35 movement and reliable and fun pieces. Thank you for the comment.
This always comes up. Is a Rolex a fake because it uses a valjoux movement? Is the Omega Speedmaster fake because it looks almost identical to the Rodania Geometer that preceded it by 3 years?
This is a mod, the actual Seiko Marine Master 300 cost around $3K. This is a homage to a watch that is popular. Seiko sells the parts, and they are used in all levels of watches from mods to major micro brands.
I don't know if you noticed but there are very few distinct watch designs within the thousands and thousands of watch makers, unless their ethos the watch design is to make something distinct from all others.
Seiko itself has embraced the modding community and has had collaborations, and built their own collection of mod watches.
I have plenty of "original" expensive watches, but also plenty of beautiful homage watches, of which some are considered micro-brands, and others I have done myself, I like them all and enjoy them all.
