I make pretty good money. I would love a Submariner, but I chose the Seiko Mod similar to the one presented here. I've had the chance to hold both in my hand and other than obvious features, the only way you can tell them apart is one says Rolex, and one says Seiko. In my opinion the mod is worth the $300 to $700.. Seiko makes great watches and there movement is really decent for the price. 7 to 10K on a Submariner? or 3 to 7 Hundred for a Seiko Diver?

Yes, it is water resistant. The steel is fine.
