It’s over shoot, the 1972 study, Limits to growth. Proving horribly accurate it forecast economic decline to begin around 2020 leading to civilisation collapse. The worlds population reaching a point it consumes resources at an unsustainable rate. It was 1.5 billion in 1900. 2.5 billion in 1950 - and thereafter, it entered over shoot. 6 billion in 2000. 8 plus billion today. It forecast it. Not just UK, America, Canada, Australia, Europe, all Governments around or over 100% of GDP in debt. All built on cheap oil. The study has been revisited. Still to start in 2020 but the later studies, using more up to date data revealed the collapse would be a lot faster, by 2050 not 2100. Look at a population graph, humans numbered 2-250 million people for thousands of years until 1600 then technology saw it rise to 1.5 billion by 1900. Oil really kicks in around 1950. It rockets but it’s like deer on an island, they got there by ice freezing, but trapped by no ice for years. Ok, initially plenty of grass the population boomed but eventually they consumed grass faster than it could grow. Hungry, they started eating the roots too. The population collapsed. That’s over shoot. And we’re not immune.

It is always the poor who build a country. They are the ones who work in the mines, lay the railroad, work in the factories, fix the machines, build the skyscrapers, build the ships, farm the land, fish the seas and wholesale the goods to the big companies for the international corporation retail market. The poor working class are the heartbeat of any nation. Without them there would be nothing, including the "royal" or ruling class, because we would all live in caves weaving straw baskets. The royal class or ruling class got there on the backs of slave labor and low paid military to protect them. Endless blessings to the working poor, volunteers and slave labor, who have made all nations what they are.
