I remember as a kid(circa1970) there was a store that had hundreds of these in their toy Dept in the box. Were cheap but as a kid I was impressed with the dog! Lol. Thank for the memories
Lovely. I owned a slightly later model with the 1500 engine. And my Sister owned an Austin 1800 which was the big brother of these. I love these cars so much. Thank you.
Really liked this one. Also appreciate the tip of polishing the wheels. I've been polishing the bases, grills and bumpers as I'm not a fan of painting them silver but hadn't thought to polish the wheels. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing your hobby.
Wasn't sure I liked your choice of color until the final finished shot. Outstanding! The candy-lemon color brings out all the tones and curves of the body that the previous white paint hid. Wouldn't change a thing!
Turned out perfect!!! I have a couple of these in need of restoration. Just need a airbrush now. These simple videos are what keeps me going with restoring my own cars 🍻
Very nice restore/custom, I will agree with some of the other commenters that a video showing the fail would be highly instructive. A bloopers video of sorts. Give it a thought, I'm sure your followers would like to see what can lead to fails as much as the success you have. Great video, look forward to the next. Thank you!
It looks great. I love the yellow color you have. I am biased though. Yellow is my favorite color. I think painting up the interior of this car would be a fun challenge. Especially the little dog in the back.
I think it looks great. I would be very happy to watch a video like this every week, or even every couple of days, as I really enjoy your work. Have a good weekend.
Didn't get a Marty's Matchbox Makeover for Saturday so I guess a Zac's Matchbox Makeover will have to suffice. Quite enjoyed this restoration/custom and really have to admire the fine details Lesney put into this casting right down to the number plates. For some reason the overall look of this car reminds me of Mr. Bean's Mini, minus the black hood.
That custom restoration was a breath of fresh air after seeing so many bad restorations lately. The big name customizers have been taking long breaks (hint, hint...) so I've been forced to settle for mediocrity. This one was simple, yet the result was above and beyond. Keep up the great work!
Very nice colour indeed. A lot of British cars started sporting unpleasant colours towards the end of the 1960's. Shades of brown, beige, earthy tones of dun, and unfortunate shades of 'baby's first crap' were often seen, as well as travel-sickness agitating bright greens and purples. Your colour is beautiful, though. Nice one.
For the yellowed interior. Try saloncare40 is like $5 for 20oz or more and you brush it on like paint stripper. Wrap it up is clear good wrap and let it sit in the sun. It will come up white and won’t destroy the plastic.
My sister had one of these but the Austin 1300 automatic version. Two main problems were the automatic transmission used the engine oil as fluid. They also had a side mounted radiator and a distributor on the side of the block, exposed directly to rain. When you drove in a storm you had to be careful of other cars throwing up moisture as the car would often stall when the ignition very commonly got wet. Used to carry a can of water dispersant and some rags and we would usually be back up and running in a couple of minutes.
Nice job my man! The real car was the best selling car in the UK for several years, under six different badges, yes six! Austin, Morris, Riley, Wolsley, MG and Vanden Plas . My mum had the Morris version in Old English White. It's an odd little car though. It's a saloon with a small boot (trunk), even though it looks like a hatchback. Austin and Morris had different style grilles, and the others, being more expensive, had different shape grilles, different number plate shrouds, maybe different body trim and definitely better interiors probably with more gadgets.
You say at the start of the video that you never see painted rivets, then soon after you show the green "base donor" car and it has a painted rivet. Is it another customized car?
Is it good to see a video from you sir, you are the first person that I started watching that restored diecast. This one turned out beautiful, you are awesome at what you do.
I would love to see the failed proyect. From that people can learn too
I remember as a kid(circa1970) there was a store that had hundreds of these in their toy Dept in the box. Were cheap but as a kid I was impressed with the dog! Lol. Thank for the memories
The interior calls out for a detailed paint job...
hire someone who does Warhammer figures
It looks great! I am just glad to see another restoration from you. Thanks for sharing this neat tutorial.
Lovely little car i pass my driving test in 1972 in one. Excellent job thanks .George in England uk 👍

He's back, folks! I’ve been binge watching your older videos waiting for a new one.
I love the lil pup in the back seat! Cool restoration.
Missed you man! I’m glad you’re back!
Another rescued car. Thanks for your work. The silver metallic looked pretty good as well. Could do that as a second.
The paint is brilliant. As usual the best available video on hotwheels on CZcams. Thanks for your great work
Wasn't sure I liked your choice of color until the final finished shot. Outstanding! The candy-lemon color brings out all the tones and curves of the body that the previous white paint hid. Wouldn't change a thing!
Fantastic job on this restoration! Looks great! Thanks for posting! 🙂
Great restoration and awesome color choice for the finished product! Another great restoration!

Awesome job! This is one hobby I would like to pick up when I retire.
Great work! Boyhood days all over again!
Welcome back! Very nice restoration. Slick tip on polishing the wheels. Thank you.
I missed you a lot, I love your voice, very relaxing. Awesome restoration
I really like the yellow paint job. It gives the car an almost Vegas gold-like appearance to it. :)
Love the color I didn't get notified of this video glad I was looking. Thanks for the new video
Great job, very impressed with the quality of the plastic glass, 50 plus years old.👍
Great to see you back!
Loved this restoration I didn’t think the colour would work but seeing it finished it looks great!
I think it looks great. I would be very happy to watch a video like this every week, or even every couple of days, as I really enjoy your work. Have a good weekend.
I like that the grill and headlamps were cast with the base and man they look great in front of that shiny new paint
Welcome back, love the taxi style finished looked!

When I saw the final car right side up finished the first time I was taken aback a little. Like, "whoa, that looks great." Fun video. Thanks.
Dang Bo! you got that windshield looking GOOOOD!
Awesome as always. Love the color!
Great work! Awesome color choice
Awesome job! Thats a beautiful color.
First time I've seen a driver and a dog in a tiny diecast car. Bravo to Lesney! Nice restoration.
Many more videos please. We have been missing them so much. I agree with Un, show us the failed project that melted too. Nothing wrong with that.
Looks great! Love the yellow paintjob!
That paint job came out very nice for not having clear coat on it. Nice not to have to take off the tires and wheels.
That custom restoration was a breath of fresh air after seeing so many bad restorations lately. The big name customizers have been taking long breaks (hint, hint...) so I've been forced to settle for mediocrity. This one was simple, yet the result was above and beyond. Keep up the great work!
An excellent looking restoration!!.. I'll be anxious to see what you do with other one of these you have..
I like the way it has turned out. That’s a particularly nice hue!
Great job!
My Parents had a real Morris 1100 and I had an MG 1100 like yours which is one of my favourite Matchbox models.
Great job. It looks wonderfully new. 👍👍👍
Beautiful restoration, looks showroom fresh
The yellow looks awesome, very nice finish 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘🦘
I’m glad you’re not dead
He might be dead. He hasn’t posted in a long time
Missed your videos, and so pleased to see this pop up!
What a beautiful model, and an even more beautiful restoration.
This came out really good. Glass and tires look New.
Hard not to be a HotWheels fan and a Matchbox fan, at least, a little. Nice work bHW! Thank you.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Great job. I restored one just like that but I painted it blue.
The paint turned out real nice on this one! Looks great! :)
Always enjoy your vids mate.
Looks great! Love the color.

Love the color. It's very fitting!!!
Turned out really nice! Well done.

....beautiful work meng thankx for sharing...
Looks awesome! Since you did custom paint would love to see the driver and doggie detailed, too!
Glad to see you back , cool work as always.
Mike Espo .
Hey hey old friend! Welcome back. Happy new decade!
Very nice and warm color! I like that you go far beyond. Really, obsession only in Red Green Blue colors are kind of limited.
Beautiful job. I love the colour!
Very good job!
Well done.
The MG 1100 was of course the sports version of the Austin 1100 and
as with all MGs had got quite a bit of 'poke' to it.
Looks great!
I understand that they took some time but the windows look fantastic. Great work yet again.
kool ... thanks for your time .. awesome vid like always .. †
Nice restoration it looks 100% better😊
I like the color on that body style. Looks good!
Nice restoration and paint!
Awesome job as always. 👍👍👍👍
Great work and the restoration love matchbox
The new color looks great. It also came in metallic blue w/ Superfast wheels. Your yellow seems like a close cousin of that metallic blue.
For the yellowed interior. Try saloncare40 is like $5 for 20oz or more and you brush it on like paint stripper. Wrap it up is clear good wrap and let it sit in the sun. It will come up white and won’t destroy the plastic.
One of my favourite castings.
Love the colour.
Two tone paint works well on this one too.
Yes the real MG 1100 often had two tone paint jobs
My sister had one of these but the Austin 1300 automatic version. Two main problems were the automatic transmission used the engine oil as fluid. A really lovely little project! All diecasts should be done with Spectra flame! Just beautiful!
That color looks great!
Awesome restoration !!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome restoration, it turned out perfect 👍👍😊
Nice job my man!

Nice to have you back! Good job as always. 👍
A few weeks ago I found this model on Craigslist (with other vintage die cast's) and it was in mint condition.
Lovely job, great colour 👍👍
Very nice paint. Of course now we need a video of what melted and why it melted. 😀
Supreme result, one of your best in my opinion.
Your videos are always brilliant,
Turned out great. Nice to see å restoration that is not to advanced. Good collour choose
Hurray!! I love this channel so much ❤️
Welcome back.
Gorgeous. Would love to have seen this one in brown. Some detailing of the headlights and taillights might be nice to experiment with too.
Finally the best customiser is back!! Can't wait to see the results of your 18 mustangs project.
Great video as always, cheers from Montreal!
