Ah yeah I think what Otto is getting at with the “brave front” comment is that Subaru is keeping the problems he’s dealing with to himself and masking everything instead of reaching out for help. No Subaru definitely wears his heart on his sleeve a lot of times. Keep in mind too a lot of the other characters haven’t seen all of Subaru’s crying, failures, or breakdowns. To them he seems like some kind of “lucky guy” or genius who always has the right answer when it counts. “Brave front” was probably just the best way they could figure out how to translate what Otto was saying into English.
Lol bro I just finished watching the next episode, and yeah, I'm an Otto fan now XD Although, I still disagree with him saying Subaru is putting up a brave front.
I don’t know that there’s a solid explanation for why the white whale went after Otto instead of Subaru other than it’s an animal and is kind of unpredictable, or it just didn’t notice the Witch’s miasma on Subaru at the moment it was chasing them (remember he had to try to talk about RBD to produce more miasma to get the whales attention during the whale battle. It wasn’t just following him by default). If anyone does know one feel free to correct me. There is this though, iirc I think in the book the whale refrained from killing Subaru in that loop because it figured he was so pathetic he wasn’t even worth the effort.
Yeap this episode and 15,16 are just calm before Strom episodes. That's why it's so calm and slow .
From ep 17 every episode are masterpiece.
What do you mean? Imo only this ep was a bit slower from s2 part 2. Ep 16 for example is one of my fav eps. top 5 from s1-2 for me
I half agree with you on this! The first half of this episode had me hella cheering on Otto! And then...the "kiss" happened...

My brother, I am TRULY HOPING Re:Zero saves Beatrice's character. They did her so dirty this arc. She was my favorite character when I first started watching Re:Zero, so I was very disspaointed to see whzt they did with her. I'll trust you when you say they do Beatrice justice. Unfortunately, at this point, I'm still leaning towards Anastasia being my favorite character.
Don't lose hope , Otto , Satella and betty are MVP characters of these season
