Quick response to your complain about magic and Beatrice (idk if it was answered in your last video so sorry in advance if that's the case): Beatrice is a spirit and formed a contract with Subaru at the end of season 2, meaning essentialy she became Subaru's weapon. Of course because of the contract, Betty can't get mana from anything other than Subaru, and he can't make contract with any other spirit because of Betty. The huge attack she used to send away the rabbit depleted all the mana she had stored during her time in the library so she will be weaker in season 3.

I think Re:Zero is at its most interesting when, as you said, it focuses on the characters dealing with their flaws and mistakes, the politics and connections to the lore of this world. With Season 2 being about confronting the past, healing from trauma and moving forward through the trials of the Sanctuary.. I loved how the focus on the other characters really emphasised how human they are and not so different from Subaru in their own ways. Roswaal, Beatrice, Garfiel, Emilia and Petelgeuse being highlight characters who mirror some of Subaru's personal struggles and consistent mental issues that he still has to deal with even now. I actually am quite excited in getting some more insight on the candidates and other characters to be able to dissect them and reveal them as the flawed people they are. As humans capable of making mistakes and having biases based on their own personal experiences that dictate how they react to the situations they face.

Fun fact is yesterday s3 ep 1 was released in Anime Expo event. I'm so jealous . My brain trembles

The other trailers released (there are a couple now) for season 3 give you a much better idea of what this season is about. Also, the first episode of season 3 just premiered at Anime Expo yesterday and it's getting a lot of positive reception. It's 90 minutes long and is very character/dialogue/politic focused which should hopefully be up your alley. We will have to wait until October to see it unfortunately, but the wait will be worth it!

I've never seen anyone defend Roswaal before. He's a terrible person, and his relationship with Ram is toxic and an unhealthy dependance. At least from Ram's side. Ram's dependance on Roswaal being heightened due to the disappearance of Rem.. is definitely a problem that needs to be addressed. Lets hope future arcs do this. Roswaal is super lucky he has been given a second chance to live and be better. But his actions, even if its overwritten from the loops, cannot be understated. He's definitely a manipulator. Now.. he can grow and change, sure. But I hope future arcs tackle consequences for Roswaal's past actions. Consequences that he cannot undo and will have to live with. If he's truly changed even if its just to uphold his contract, I hope he overcomes that. This is the world of Re:Zero after all. Its been WELL ESTABLISHED its a cruel and unfair place lol. Even Subaru and Emilia. They've grown abit and have gained a better understanding of each other a little more. But yeeah, there's still alot of growth to do. Emilia's maturity being stunted to the point of her views of relationships and reproduction being sooo childish... there's still a massive gap there that's definitely a problem. Again, I hope future arcs address this and give Emilia more growth and development.

IMPORTANT CUT CONTENT from the light novel: 1. They cut a part of the carriage scene with Priscilla (royal candidate in the red dress) and Al (guy with the knight helmet) in S1. Turns out Subaru is not the only person from Japan. Al (Aldebaran), Priscilla's retainer is also from Japan. He's been in the Re:Zero world for 18 years. 2. Arc 4 (S2) had an epilogue. In the epilogue one of the Ryuzu clones is leaving the sanctuary and it's revealed she has Echidna's mind/soul/memories. That's right, the Witch of Greed Echidna is roaming around again in one of the Ryuzu Meyer clones. They'll probably have scenes that cover those in S3 but in case they don't here you go! There's other cut content but these are the most important for sure.

Glad you finished the series! I wish you the best in whatever show you pick up next :) My two cents for the Roswaal thing (if anyone cares) is that, at least as far as I know, grooming is usually sexual in nature. Roswaal has absolutely no sexual interest in Ram whatsoever. If there is a form of grooming that isn't sexual but more based on power than I would maybe agree. Roswaal thinks of Ram as a tool for his ultimate goal of reviving Echidna and slaying the dragon. Based on the advice of the gospel, Ros knows that Ram is critical for the success of this plan and has given her aid (healing her horn) and has gained her respect. Ros is the biggest Echidna simp around and his only interest in Ram is how he can use her to reach his goals. That is one of the reasons why he was able to so easily kill Ram in one of the loops, and had no emotional qualms about doing so. That's probably not something he would have done if he loved her in any sort of romantic way. But I think the major point for me is this: Does it matter? Roswaal is an antagonist in season 2. Antagonists do things that we consider to be bad. Does him doing a bad thing make him a poorly written character? I can understand not liking him, even hating him, but certain characters are intentionally written to be despicable. Just about every show or book you look at has people as bad or worse than him. In my opinion what matters is that his actions are consistent with his goals. He is written consistently, has many layers, and is super entertaining to watch.

Puck, Betty and toska astrea involved in SS event . After some days of that event puck started his journey to find Emilia . 4) after some years .Echidna met roswal A mathers . Then relocated the sanctuary and events of sanctuary happened during at that time. 5) (important point) there is high change Echidna left betty only to keep betty from satella rampage or any other major incident by making betty contract with library. After library contract echidna collected all the souls of other witches and bury her self by making barrier in sanctuary 6) After the events of satella rampage. Around 300 years before main story. Toska met Roswal B Mathers and find out what happened to betty then he volunteer by "That Person" but betty rejected Toska Proposal. 7) 7 years before betty reunited with puck but she found puck lose his all memories bcoz of contract btw puck and Emilia 8) finally Betty make spirit contract between subaru and betty. What I find extremely toxic about the Tokyo Ghoul Fandom is the controversy of Kaneki and Touka getting together in Chapter 125 of Re:. They make up excuses that Touka is abusive towards Kaneki and that she uses sex in order to keep Kaneki from leaving her. They don’t even realize that Touka suffers from abandonment issues. Kaneki wasn’t any better as he kept shutting her out and leaving her, making her abandonment issues even worse. Most fans even went so far as to burn their entire Tokyo Ghoul Manga Collection because “they wanted Kaneki to end up with Hide.” And I say to that, they’re friends, not lovers. Kaneki has been straight since the being as he had a crush on Rize. And besides, both Kaneki and Touka have a happy marriage at the end of the series as they are raising their daughter and have a son on the way.

???? I thought this was a very good episode myself. The fight scene, the trial, the emotional impact, it became a very memorable moment for me. Ram is 18 so that doesnt make Roswaal a child pred in any way, not to mention he has no liking to her and only sees her as a pawn for his plan, only rams likes him which made oswaal disgusted by her. Im pretty sure it was made clear at this point that roswaal only loved echidna which is the entire reason this arc even happened because of his actions following his book of wisdom and wishing to revive her.

Not trying to justify Ram feelings for that freak, but remember that this version of Ram doesn't have memories of her sister. For all she knows she grew up alone in that mansion with Roswall, so probably all that emocional attachment got transferred to him when Rem was erased from the timeline. That or she just has the most f*ckdup kind o Stockholm syndrome 💀

ram is an adult. ros never groomed ram. he literally made a deal with her that she helps him kill the dragon and then he will let her kill him as revenge. all those scenes (night scenes) in the present or when she was young were just ros giving her missing horn mana. if you paid attention then we wouldn't have t o explain it to you. without it she is in excrutiating pain and can die. In the snow OVA we saw ram extremely grumpy because roswaal was busy because of the freezing and couldn't attend to ram. In arc 6 (season 3 content) subaru is able to feel ram's pain and it was unbelievable. The fact that roswaal provided her relief from pain for years and rem's name being eaten made all of ram's love be directed towards the only person she knew. the only reason roswaal even went to her in the first place is because he needs ram (second coming of the oni god) help to kill the dragon. Also, there have been no romantic moments between ram and roswaal even in the current novel. I am currently up to date and do not recall any romantic scenes between them.

So earlier I wrote some comments about childhood schemas and trauma and how they shape our interpretation of future events and perspectives. I wanted to make this about yours because it has been coming into play with how you've interpreted lots of the "romantic" interactions throughout this series. You might not like some of the things I say here but I want to empower you, and understanding yourself and where your deep rooted perspectives originated is empowering and can help people move forward. You almost certainly have trauma involving unhealthy attachments/abuse within the context of romantic relationships, and given your background, there's a chance this came from your parents (probably no shockers here). Specifically: woman (mom) has unhealthy romantic attachment to toxic man (dad). This is the "pattern" where trauma occurred. It may have occurred early in life and it's possible you don't remember all the details. Now, as for how this has impacted how you interpret the show as opposed to most viewers: 1. Hypervigilance (sort of) - You exhibit something akin to hypervigilance when it comes to unhealthy romantic attachments (the "trauma pattern"), and have a tendency to blame the target of said attachment for the attachment, whether or not foul play was actually involved. You're on the watch for anything that starts to approach the trauma pattern, anything that does will trigger you, and can lead to mis-categorization if the circumstances are similar but not the same. This would be similar to if a woman experienced sexual trauma, and then was put in a scenario where men were approaching her on the street. Say she decides they're looking at her too much and she threatens to call the police because "they're going to gr*pe her." That doesn't mean they had any malicious intentions, but her nervous system remembers and is on high alert due to associated trauma. Re:Zero is full of unhealthy attachments, and so it's kind of a land mine for you. E.g. Rem & Subaru = unhealthy attachment from Rem, Ram & Roswaal = unhealthy attachment from Ram, Subaru & Emelia = unhealthy attachment from Subaru (Subaru & Emilia does not fit your pattern as much because the person with an unhealthy romantic attachment in this case is a man rather than a woman). It's not necessarily toxic/abusive behavior that seems to bug you the most, but the presence of an unhealthy attachment itself, which is probably most strongly associated with instances of trauma you experienced. If you think about your background, it makes a lot of sense. Unhealthy attachment from mom may have played a role in a lot of your negative experiences (not just in staying in an abusive relationship, but in the proceeding poverty and struggle as well). 2. Black/white thinking regarding people approaching the "trauma pattern" - there is some black/white thinking where people come closer to resembling the pattern where trauma occurred. They are either good, or bad. You might say, "well no there's a spectrum," and yes that's true but my guess is in your mind there's a kind of line in the middle, where once people cross that line they are either in the "bad" section, or the "good" section, which may be why Subaru has been stuck in the "bad" section this whole time. There's a good chance you're going to want to deny what I've said here and rationalize: "no I know somethings wrong, no I know somethings off." Yes, there's a good chance that's a trauma response. Your reaction to Ram/Roswaal in this episode specifically seemed like a trauma response. How do I know this? Most viewers are kind of disgusted by that interaction only. You were mad. That didn't seem like just disgust, where anger is involved it is almost certainly a reaction to a perceived threat. If you want to work on this I would recommend getting in touch with a therapist that specializes in trauma. If you don't work on it it could cause issues for you in the future. I'm not saying it will, but it could blind side you in weird ways in your relationships with others moving forward (the misunderstandings with other viewers being a minor example of this, since other viewers don't have the same trauma associated with unhealthy attachments). I'm sorry these things happened to you, it's not fair and it's hard. I'm not trying to gaslight you, and I'm not saying you're broken in any way this is just advice from a stranger. Ultimately, you're free to do whatever you want with it. If you want to completely disregard it that's fine, if you want to take steps and work with a therapist that's cool too. My only goal here is to empower you and hopefully shed light on why these translation errors with other viewers are occurring, not just in a general sense but with you specifically. As far as the show goes, without a perspective shift my guess is there's a good chance you're not going to like how this season ends. If you want to keep watching, great, if not, also great, just take that for what it's worth. Now, to those making hateful comments, you're not helping. Please give this man some grace and understand that people are going to have a multitude of perspectives and sometimes they are rooted in a lot of hurt. He's not dumb, and he's not "smooth brained." If he's jumping to the most negative interpretation of things sometimes it's because it's likely his body is trying to keep him from experiencing similar trauma again.
