On this episode I head back to my favorite auction yard to dream about more truck I can’t afford. Actually, I was there to help a friend try and find a 379 Pete but it never hurts to see what else is selling. Lots of minty Pete’s, though I couldn’t figure out why all the grill logos were missing, some beautiful Kenworths, Macks, Internationals, Western Stars and of course tons of the streamlined and aerodynamic Freightliners and Volvos. As usual, I poke fun at the automatics and share my thoughts on DEF. Finally, as I was covering the back corners of the yard, I discovered a blue 362 big cab Peterbilt cabover truck that sure looked familiar. Sure enough, it was the very truck I found for sale on the side of the highway during my summer vacation last year. As I always say, wish I had made my shop with 4 stalls to bring this beauty home. Will be very interested to see what it sells for on auction day…
Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and support!
Keep in mind, I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts

Correction to my comment in the video about this Pete maybe being a 362H … there is no “362H” only a 352H that was developed as an interim model between the 352 and the 362 platform when the truck sales weren’t supporting the costs of full development of the 362.
The 352H was built for the bigger engines and cooling needs of the large Cats like the 3408, Detroit 8v92 and the KT Cummins. The 1st 352H was built as a '76 model year - last in 1980. The build numbers for the 352H and the 352 are merged together.
352H stands 4 inches taller than 352, the cosmetic differences being the cab panels below the headlamps, wider step pockets, lower mounted turn signals, taller grille and unique bumper (center mounted fog lamps vs. wide spread on 352). 352H required a unique cab tilting system, a wider doghouse and a 1510 square inch radiator.
If you have a 352H that you don’t want anymore, please let me know 😉
Fascinating!!!!
Sold for 18,500, should have bought it for the 12K. Lol
I live in Nova Scotia, I'll have to keep an eye out for it.
The 352H was developed in the mid-70’s expressly to fit the Cummins K-series engines and Caterpillar 3408, and facilitate the much larger radiator required to keep them cool. Everything learned from the 352H went into the design of the succeeding 362…wouldn’t necessarily call the 352H an “interim model”.
Not sure if you heard this song but it's a badass tune you should check it out czcams.com/video/etNXU9zeZ1k/video.html
I know you don't like Automatic trucks but believe me they have there place. I am a truck driver that now has a disability with my left leg and cant do the gear jamming no more. My boss went out and got me an automatic so I can still do my trucking
Yeahhh! On the HUNT! Sad that you cut out the Kenny start "ohh yeah" in the intro. Keep it up, greets from Germany.
That was the K100 Kenworth
@@albertjones6176 Dang it! Mixed it up. :D
Yeah that was the best part of the intro.
@@The_Bears_Tracks agreed
The “Hard No” line killed me lol
Hard no on the automatics and DEF... HahaHAHA!.. love this channel, and I especially look forward to the "on the hunt: series. Cheers Mark..
I've got both and it has been good so far with the Mack MDrive automatic and 505 hp mp8 same thing as the D13 Volvo and I shift from what I've read I was scared of the Def system but so far it's good at 96000 miles and about a year of driving it .
many props for the Canadian Truckers stating their beliefs in a peaceful way, and then to be treated like shite by the PM/Govt..and the donors who supported these truckers being betrayed by the press...may we see better times thru long memories and elections
I’m with you on the “better times” we could all use some of that 👍
@@TwinStix heading to DC RIGHT now
Praying for all of you truckers in Canada 🇨🇦 from USA 🇺🇸
Awesome Twinsticks , all your videos are great and really like the on the hunt ! The cab over Pete coming to Nova Scotia, I’ll keep an eye out for it , east to spot that one . The new intro is really good 👍, what a way to spend a day ! Truck auction! Keep er up Twinsticks! 👍🇨🇦
Mack today is a mere shell of its former self. They’re now just a Volvo with a bulldog…Volvo engines painted Mack red and the automatics are also of Volvo design.
I have a 2022 pinnacle with the mp8 505 hp and the MDrive automatic transmission hauling logs and it has done well so far I have 96000 miles on it and have had 90,000 lbs plus weight and it does pretty well it doesn't hesitate to shift and has manual mode for off-road , performance mode for when you need it starting off and performance + when your really heavy and in a bad spot , it is my first automatic and I was skeptical at first but it is good so far they've really brought the Mack a long way on technology in the cab as well .
Letterkenny sayings in every episode
That's what's I appreciates. Lol
The cabover was the cream of the crop in that auction.
I enjoyed the Letterkenny clips you threw in there very nice touch. I love that show super funny.
I think these, on the hunt shows are great stuff. Being a retired driver I enjoy the old-school 3 pedal rigs. Thank you Marc.
That 362 may look goofy, but it probably turns like an absolute dream!
Small world indeed! You must have gotten too warm inside that nice new shop of yours and needed to spend a day out in the cold. 😁
Another good on the hunt episode! Thanks for taking us along with you.
Another great "On the Hunt" video Mark. Good to see something fun and good today. Crazy to see that Pete cabover again, I'm sure that was surreal for you to see.
"Hard, to the f-ckin' no." LMFAO 😆😆😆😆
Hey mate love watching your videos keep up the hella of work 😄
Thank God there is something good to see this morning. Really needed this Mark - thanks!
Your videos are the highlight of my Thursday.
Yes...a On the hunt Twinsticks garage edition....love it 👊🇨🇦🇺🇸👊👍👍...thanks Mark 🤘
Thanks Mark I love seeing all the trucks thanks again
Thank you for bringing us along on your 'old skool' trucking odyssey! I find your videos very enjoyable, and quite informative as well! 👍🙂
really enjoy ur videos like the fact u do it yourself I learn something new each video can't wait till the tribute truck gets finished as well as little by little and iron duke!!
I really like the purple Peterbilt & the Cabover Peterbilt
them headlights on the international lonestar remind me of when you pull the ears back on a dog lmao. great vid👍
Great Vid Twin. Your love for the way it was is sure evident. I also like the old Iron. Boy that 362 would have looked nice in your fleet. Once again thanks for posting your vids, you bring a smile to many...
Happy Thursday Twinsticks!!!
Volvo's, great ride, good for the first two years, after that the electrical system/sensors and resale hit the trash can.
Talking about that slippery step reminded me of the day when I cought myself trying to talk a young green fellow mechanic out o
Another great video, man! Love this series.
I like the Canadian auction report. It’s fun, and you post the prices which is a bonus.
Awesome to see the cabover Pete again. Love the channel and I'll have to send you pics of the neighbors restored 50's Mack when he brings it out again
Good to see you Wayne good luck
That black tri-drive T8 with the logging rack... *chefs kiss* 👌
Great video! The Yellowstone reference was awesome!
Best on the hunt trucks I have seen. Great video and love your restored trucks
God I love the letter Kenny clips, and you channel! Keep up the good work!
I love Thursday morning 😎
I don’t believe 362 ever had a H , there were 352H for 3408 cat and KT Cummins. They require a bigger cooling package.
A lot of nice trucks
Some really nice trucks in that lot, with regard to the Volvos, they use the exact same dash in the FM12 Cabovers here in the UK,
Thanks again for a great video
Love the new intro clips 🇬🇧🇬🇧
I love the on the hunt videos I drive a T800 Kenworth dump truck for years loved that truck. But a Pete is still my favorite
Love old Cabovers, and I’ve been seeing more of them lately on the Parkway (4-lane) near my house in KY
Where I live those Volvos are *everywhere*, the two biggest fleets of trucks around here (JB Hunt and Swift) are a mix of Volvos and Freightliners.
FRICK YEAH ANOTHER ON THE HUNT!
Hi twin sticks ! , greetings from the UK I know an auto isn’t a “man’s “ transmission but there is a good argument for they’re increasing popularity
They reduce wear through operator error and are more fuel efficient through in theory being in the correct gear at all times , Here in the uk where diesel is $7.90 a us gallon ,95% of all new semi trucks are automatic , they’re so advanced they use gps to even know where hills are and correct engine output accordingly !! ,
The Volvo unit you showed with I shift is regarded as one of the best available along with scanias opti cruise
But I look forward to getting back to the USA a playing with a 13 eaton again !!
Dang TwinStick that pete from quebec DAN transport is from my home town i was surprise to see it there! I really appreciate your videos Thanks you!
I have driven primarily manual trans four wheelers and what I’ve noticed is years ago when the expressway backed up you’d just slide into the right lane puttin along in first gear with trucks and now days they drive them like the idiots in cars. Stop and go every 30 feet.
I e also noticed with Volvo’s all the plastic on the sides is usually all beat up, cracked, and hanging all screwed up. Their head lights are also screwed up and google-eyed. Zero pride in ownership of those things.
Love the new intro brother!
hehe nice to see that cabover come here to Nova Scotia.......saaawwweeeet
10:04 every bull haulers interior should look like this lol
Those chrome steps are called ski jumps north a the line :-)
That 362 is the standard height. I drove a few if them and that had two steps like the one you have in this video.
Now a 352 with two steps is a "H" . Thay were higher to give the the room needed for the KTA cummings
Love this channel. I don’t have a CDL and have no business owning a Semi but I find myself checking online for used truck in the area. Just in case I need one, hahahah.
Raiders of the lost Peterbuilt. Pretty sure you'd rock that fedora, leather jacket and bullwhip Mark
Man whoever owned that mack liked chrome for sure
Best day of the week is Thursday👍
I like your explanation of def perfect
Haha..the diss to the Volvo..so funny! Especially for me who are from the country that makes them :)
The ol roo scoop:)
Well we do call them roo bars!
i bet you can see a foot print on the dash in the red Volvo 🤣🤣
Bahahaha love this channel. Might as well use the CZcams money to keep the ball rolling my friend. Guna need many more old projects to keep up us watching LETS GO 🙏🙏❤️❤️
its a fine line with the wheel bases on cab overs. Some people stretch them out and they look horrific, but too short does look funny. I'm some what used to seeing them short being from Australia I guess.
Lmao a LetterKenny clip..oh I love it
The Corvette dash was my favorite. Never cared for the wing dash.
Fun video Mark. I bought a Volvo worse than that for $1800 from a neighbour. Pumped the tanks nearly empty and then sold it within a week for $3600.
I appreciate posting those prices
Mark you might want to reconsider putting 7 inch stove pipes on the iron duke I have them on my 389 and I ABSOLUTELY HATE THEM every day when you crank it up it blows black sut all over you your truck and everything else I even put flappers on and drilled a hole in the bottom to drain any water out. Will NEVER PUT STOVE PIPES ON ANYTHING ELSE
I love that you text in the price and description on each truck you open.
The seat in the FLD was probably on the left side, and they switched it. That wear is consistent with getting in and out
Those Mercury sleepers are beautiful. Save one for your future builts.
The Volvo Automatics aren’t bad my buddy drives a 2021 Volvo and the 12spd automatic isn’t bad in his truck. It doesn’t jump like in the Kenworth’s or Peterbilt with the Eaton Ultrashift transmissions they have a tendency to jump. I rather have a manual myself at the end of the day.
Thursday morning 😎😎😃😃
One thing about those volvos. They have a big sleeper on em
Cool to see what trucks you guys have over there at auction and the prices they go for
Funny about the bullbar too, I’ve never heard anyone call it a roobar til now
And I’m a fan of the T600’s I have a 1998 kenworth T601 here I’m rebuilding from the ground up, similar to what you guys have as a T600B I think you guys call them
Absolutely LOVE these on the hunt videos! Look forward to your content every Thursday! Cheers from Massachusetts!
The Mack MDrive is actually a good transmission and it has manual , performance and performance + modes I have one in my 2022 pinnacle with the mp8 505 hp hauling logs it is my first automatic and it has been a good truck so far I have 95980 miles on it and have had it for about a year. It is also the only transmission available with the mp10 685 hp in Australia .
Peterbilt Mike needs that Cabover!! Its blue not white even better! lol
Ha Mark is letterkenny fan. Thats whats i appreciates about yous.
That’s Volvo ishift for ya mark it’s actually quite a good auto gear shift but I know what you mean can’t replace a regular shifter 😉
That white 389 with the mangle grill. Usually happens when you put too much tension on the moose rack when winching the truck. Top of the bar goes in as the bottom pulls out and it wreck the grill surround
Hello there bud ✌️👍😁
awsome video mark lots of god trucks but not to your likeing lol thumbs up and shared
Yeah Mate. Definitely called a bull bar in Australia. 😀
Bull Bar, Cattle Catcher, Moose Bumper, Roo Bar. An I’m sure plenty other names. They all do the same thing. Keep the truck pretty.
The truck with the red floor is a 379. 379 had a 127" and a 119" hood.
Mint
Hello 👋. That looked very cold .. 🥶. Loved seeing All them trucks... when will you bid on one? .... any luck with parts for iron Duke.. any chance of a meet up with peterbilt Mike in the future.. now that would be Cool
5:15 lmao im with you there Mark, if you cant drive stick you have no business driving truck.
That Volvo is actually a really nice truck, yeah its auto but that one would be nice.
They are nice rigs i will do a maximum drive with the Western star
The Pete from QC probably smells of Sawed Off Frenchman as Peg says.
I just picked up a 1993 peterbilt 372, I had no intention of buying one and I was definitely not in the market for a truck but it was cheap and I had to have it. Unfortunately my primary residence is in California so pre emissions trucks are next to worthless as they can't be registered. My plans are to register it as a rv to get around emissions requirements.
Good thinking Mike, good luck to you in getting a business started, especially in California, hey drive safe and God Bless.
@@stovebolt448 I have no intention of using it for business, I am going to convert it into a toter home or enclosed car hauler to haul my toys around.
Geez a freebie t600a, I'll take it 😆.
He got a good dollar for it !
My dad had an old 66KW with an old mercury sleeper
Peterbilt used to have the bed and breakfast sleeper as well
I get what your saying about the Volvo iShift gearbox Mark but when your driving a Volvo around the uk in stop start traffic in and out of the cities here they are a godsend to your left leg and arm lol.
Agreed. after nearly 20 years of driving manuals I protested when I got given an automatic, I wasn't long about changing my tune lol. Now I'd want extra cash to drive a manual. American trucks must get crap automatic gearboxes, Scania and Volvo here in euro have great automatic gearboxes
