- Let's go shopping for cactus and other desert plants!
It's that time of year again when desert plant lovers go nuts at the Desert Botanical Garden fall plant sale. I've been coming here since 2020 when I first became a cactus addict. This was where I saw my first Ariocarpus and had no idea what I was looking at and why the odd little plant was so expensive... little did I know it was foreshadowing. I have purchased a number of plants from this sale from over the years and they are still doing well today! By the way, I didn't cover all the cactus and succulents that they have for sale. They also have bare-rooted plants, the garden's own propagations, and cuttings available that are super affordable .
I hope you enjoy the shopping trip. Apologies that I do go through the plants quickly as there were other shoppers and I didn't want to get in the way. Also, I dragged my parents with me and they were patiently waiting for me while I ogled the plants and recorded. I came home with a handful of plants, so stay tuned for a future plant haul video.

I'd have been there too long...trying to decide what not to bring home!🤣 I saw some especially nice plants I would definitely have chosen... such a great sale, we don't have this kind of opportunity where I am I the UK, so lovely to see the tour, thanks for sharing! 😃😁😃😁👌🎃🌟👍🏻🎃🌟🌵🌟
Which plants caught your eye, Claire? It's so much fun to treasure hunt at these sales and to see other like minded people also having a great time. I've been trying very hard to keep my desire to buy tons of plans under control, it's so difficult! But space considerations definitely help for sure.
Excellent video showing many plants and the great variety they had at the sale. I really enjoyed the video. Thanks for moving quickly but still showing the plants clearly. Your parents are awesome, so patient, speaks for their character and how much they support your channel. I loved the Agave and Aloes as that is what I recently have started collecting, in addition to my cacti.

I was afraid I moved too quickly, but there just wasn't much I could do, so thank you so much for the feedback. Agave and Aloes are what got me started! The first time I went to the sale in fall of 2020, those were the only plants I was focused on. They're still a favorite of mine, especially when planted in the ground, they're just so gorgeous!

LOL! Thank you for sticking with me! I wish I could have gone slower - I still feel really awkward recording when there are other people shopping and I feel like I'm getting in the way, plus my parents were waiting for me. Hopefully, I'll get more comfortable with just doing my thing as time goes on regardless of the environment!

You're very welcome, Tatiana! The plant availability seems to change with every sale - it's always a surprise and makes it all the more thrilling. You have to come check out one of these sales, you'll have an absolute blast! I wish I could go on opening day, maybe I'll take a vacation day from work next time hehehe.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Well, all the plants shown are for sale but they don't usually have an "on sale" section. I have seen plants on discount here only a few times, usually smaller pots, but it's not often that they have plants on discount.
your video moved so fast made me dizzy. And also you don't show the names of the plants. Disappointing
Reading this makes my heart sink. I was very new to making videos at this time and this was the best I could do as a total beginner who was learning by doing. Others have commented with similar feedback, so you're not alone. Hopefully I've gotten a little better with time but I'm still really limited in resources so I do the best that I can. Hopefully you'll check out my newer shopping videos where I gained more experience holding my camera and moving slower and that you'll give me another chance. My video on B&B cactus farm in Tucson probably is the best that I could do. I'm trying, my friend! I'm an amateur to say the least.
