- It's time for the 2024 Spring Plant Sale at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ! Come wander around the sale with me as we see how the event did this year and spot the various plants that Kenny showed us during the DBG nursery tour we did a few weeks ago. I hope you enjoy listening to me agonize over plant purchase decisions.
We also check out the amazing handmade pottery by Bill Lindsey of spines.n.clay. This is my first time meeting Bill in person after having bought several pots from him through Instagram. Bill shares how he got started with this art form and more as I conduct my second interview ever (this time with proper microphones).
I just realized before publishing this video that this is our 100th video on CZcams!! Omg!! Thank you to all my subscribers and viewers for sticking with me and my cactus shenanigans for almost 2 years (our 2nd anniversary will be at the end of May). I know several of you comment on my videos just for the sake of helping my channel and the analytics that go with it - you know who you are. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

32:19 Correction: The "Cousin It" plant my friend Judy has chatted with me about in the past was not Denmoza rhodacantha, it was Soehrensia formosa. Both plants are now classified as Echinopsis and rhodacantha can also achieve the "Cousin It"-like look, but this proves how terrible my memory can be!
Great video, Jenny! It was such a pleasure meeting you at the DBG Spring Plant Sale. Thanks for featuring me in your interview and for the support! Keep the great videos coming. 😁
It was so nice to get a chance to meet you in person, Bill! Thank you being willing to be in my video annnnnddddd.... for helping me test my new microphones 😁
My favorite cacti channel, and cute too 😍Best regards from Denmark 😘
Awwwwww this is the nicest message to read! Hello from Arizona, my friend!
Thanks for the tour, amazing things out there in Phoenix! Seeing Bill and all those awesome pots was a highlight!
You're so very welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video, it was so cool getting to meet Bill and getting to know how he got into pottery.
wow! incredible. this makes me want to make another vacation out to Arizona from Illinois. Looks like it was a huge success - for the garden and those that got there early. Still a wonderful video and well presented. Thank you!
I am so happy for the garden that the sale went so well this year. During the last sale in fall hot weather turned up out of nowhere which really hurt attendance. For this sale, I heard that the members-only day on Thursday cleared out a lot of the inventory! Luckily there was still enough for us to shop anyway! I hope you make it out here again soon!
Woohoo!! I’ve been looking forward to this!
😁😁😁 I hope you enjoyed this one, Mrs. Peachi!
Followed…. Thanks for sharing 😊 and great pot choices!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this one! It was a fun one to share with you all!
Thanks for sharing another fantastic tour !! Happy Easter 🐣🌵
Happy Easter to you too! I'm so glad you enjoyed this shopping video!
The electronics work great. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for joining me on this shopping trip, Bill! It's also great to have some modern equipment to help out LOL
YES YOU SHOULD GET THAT ALOE.
Great video, thank you for sharing, we share a love of cactus, thank you - Rich
That's the best part of this all - to share the cactus love with others who share the same cactus love 💚
Do it buy it!! ❤
🤣🤣🤣
I just found the ID for couple of my cactus collection 😂 thank you for showing the name 😄🙏🏻
Ha! This is so awesome!
Four years!!!
Four years???
wow so many beautiful plants
Isn't it wonderful? I keep coming back!
So many nice plants, i need the frosty nights to go away now
Oh my goodness, I can't imagine frost, but we have been getting quite a bit of rain this spring. It's nice to see the cactus around town getting a nice deep drink to be ready for whatever crazy summer that's coming up.
This time all the pottery is SPECTACULAR.
I hope that you rewarded yourself with some to celebrate a 100th video!
Woohooooo! 🎉🎉🎉 I'm so glad you appreciate Bill's pottery! He really does spectacular work, I love how much variety he has in his styles and price ranges - something for almost every one!
Just got to the Aloe peglerae part of the video... it's a 10/10 aloe. Absolutely gorgeous.
I still have a little bit of regret on passing up the Aloe peglerae... sigh those blue Aloe really get me.... but summer....
Love your content, that includes the Cookie installments.
I'm a cactus and agave collecter trying to keep them outdoors in Oregon. I should have my head examined.
🤣🤣🤣 You're in good company, Lynette. I also need my head examined. Cookie says "mew".
Lovely video, thanks so much! Also, audio was fine 👍🏻
I'm so glad you like dthis one, Kimmy! Thank you for confirming the audio - it's nice to have some more modern tools 😀
Very nice addition, the screen in screen showing off how good they look doing their job
This makes the bit of extra editing effort worth it 😀
Thankyou for your videos
Thank you so much for watching them! It's the only reason I keep making videos!
CZcams knows what I’m here for. You’re always at the top Jenny!
Thank you, Joshua! I always appreciate your support!
Awesome video! I bought one of their spikey pots 😁 love it!
Ohhhh!! Were you at the sale??
@@cookiescacti yes! I went on that Sunday. Bought a few plants and a pot. It was a lot of fun 😁
@@ES-mm9oi That's so awesome! You've got to come to the show & mini-sale in May!
@@cookiescacti yes I'm going to definitely try to go 😁
Totally grossed me out😮 hope you are able to resolve soon
😂😂😂 I think they're starting to wane now. Omg at the height of their numbers it was almost biblical plague status... Thank goodness they don't bite...
I hope you got that aloe because they're easy to grow in Arizona
I've been severely traumatized by last summer where many of my Aloe died because I didn't separate them from the rest of my plants so they still got water on them when they shouldn't have. Ahhhhhhh!!!!!! I need time to heal 😁

I couldn't quite understand this message, but I'll take it!
How can I clean up my cacti after a very windy day causes leaves and tiny twigs stick to their spines. They looK so messy!
I wish I had a good answer to this! Is it a large amount of cactus? Otherwise, a good pair of tweezers and some spare time might do the trick. Or if they're in the ground, maybe taking a leaf blower to them? I have the hardest time keeping debris off my grounded plants - my laziness usually means I end up never doing anything about it or occasionally picking out the debris.
The prices there are WAAAAY too high!!
Oh really? I thought they were pretty reasonable. Do you have some examples you can share on price comparisons?
You were right not to buy the Oroya Peruviana. They're incredibly beautiful, but use the wrong tone of voice around them, or look at them strangely, and they melt into slush to spite you. Buy a Monadenium if you see another, they're resilient and rewarding.
Omg I'm literally laughing out loud at this incredibly invaluable observation about Oroya. I have one Monadenium that is still alive. I don't know how it's still alive, but it is!
@@cookiescacti I love Monadenia. They just persist, throwing off leaves and growing away, no matter how much they're neglected: almost like a normal plant!
