Sidra, as a non-hijabi, I can confidently say that you have some of the best fashion sense on the internet! I know it's not about beauty for you, but your choice to wear the hijab and niqab definitely did not take away your beauty and self-expression. Isn't it interesting how when we find ourselves in life, we often glow up in the most unexpected ways?

I learned last year that hijab is mandatory. Wearing a hijab felt restricting to my fashion identity. I only wore the hijab in Ramadan 2020 and 2021. After Ramadan in 2021, I got a new job. When Ramadan was approaching in 2022, I got worried about wearing my hijab to work. Why? Because I was afraid of how others would view me at work. Through my contemplation, I came across your hijab encouragement video as Ramadan was approaching in 2022. Luckily, I felt that video gave me some courage. I was so nervous going to work with my hijab. After Ramadan 2022, I went back to no hijab, but I think I prayed to Allah about my hijab. I even thought of finding a new job where I could cover my hair and start fresh. Before Ramadan 2023, I would feel this uncomfortable feeling. In Ramadan 2023, I wore my hijab and since then, I’ve been a hijabi. It's not always 100% easy, but I can’t go back to what was weighing me down when I looked in the mirror.
I pray that Allah makes it easy for us all.

Go for it! We are Christians who lived in Saudi Arabia for 15 years where my daughters grew up and were schooled until university. They and my Nigerian wife conformed to Islamic dress, wearing hijab, abaya and niqab. That was over 20 years ago and as adults living in Florida they still wear hijab, abaya and niqab, as does my wife. My daughters are fluent in Arabic since it was the language they learned in school starting at age 5 or 6, so they tend to socialise with similar Arab speakers. As a family we love Islamic dress and we blend in perfectly with our Muslim friends. I really do think serious Christian women would do well by emulating our Muslim brothers and sisters. God bless you!

Since I didn’t consider myself beautiful, it was no problem with hijab… my problem is heat in summer, hijab makes it worse. It’s so disgusting when the cloth around the face becomes wet from sweat.

    • @norbertfleck812
      @norbertfleck812 Před rokem +2

Actually the hijab once was developed to protect your head from sun and heat.
If it feels uncomfortable, you very likely chose the wrong fabric.
Yes it gets a little bit dull from sweat, but then it provides cooling.
Cotton or linen is the material to choose.
The male Arabic headdress works exactly the same way. That's why I know.

As a white woman raised in Christianity I have always found women who wear the hijab beautiful. I'm sorry you had that negative feeling. To me, it pulls away all the ways you have to hide yourself, I have often hidden myself behind my hair when nervous, just pulling it forward to make my face less noticeable, so to be able to take that away & face life proud, is strong & beautiful to me! I started going grey at 9 & for the next 30 years I colored my hair as it got more & more grey because my mother told me "you're too young for Grey hair, you look old w Grey hair, let's go get your hair colored" even though all the color did was make those Grey hairs stand out more. 2016/2017 I stopped coloring it. All the color has grown out & I LOVE my hair. It's still not 100% Grey, but I ❤ it, & I get SOO many compliments on it. All these years I hid what was truly beautiful. A hijab accents your face, and covering your face the way you do, I can't spell the term, sorry, it certainly draws all attention to your eyes which, & I believe you said you wear contacts, but the soul is found in your eyes, & I can see you are a beautiful woman inside & out. We have to teach our daughters to see strength in their differences, see the beauty. I ❤ that you are here talking about these things so people- Muslim or not- can learn and grow in what your faith & customs mean to you!

Have you ever considered to add a piece of wire to the upper rim of the Niqab (like in the medical face masks). This allows to shape it around your nose and makes it fit far better, not limiting your sight downwards anymore.
Just sew a lengthy pocket along the upoer rim where you push in the wire - and pull it out before laundering.
A thin (< 1 mm), insulated piece of copper wire will perfectly do the job.

I would argue that it’s possible that Sidra doesn’t think that Allah demanded it, but the problem is that even in that case, there’s still this underlying fear that women might go to hell if they don’t wear it. With that fear in the back of someone’s mind in addition to the overall fear of questioning and disagreeing with the religion’s teachings due to that same fear that they might go to hell, it makes a lot of sense that they would try to convince themselves and others that they made that choice for themselves when in reality they did it out of fear.

@@chiararomano1818the comment appears to have been left to hate on those who love and embrace hijab. So if "ppl" want to love and embrace hijab, let "ppl" do what they want. That was what i said in response yet you clearly missed my point.
I understand not everyone has a "choice" in wearing it. (Though I believe hijab is obligatory whether it's the girl putting it on herself or whether she is forced into it.)
It is the "force" being used to place the hijab on a woman's head that should be questioned.
Rape and murder are definitely inexcusable and we condemn such acts. Or making women wear hijab bc "the men can't handle it" is another belief I find very problematic
Allah told muslims to oblige women to wear their hijab as if they don't, they are disobeying Allah's command. And Allah punishes those who disobey his commands.
(Ofc I'm a human and I'm not allowed to say who and who cannot be punished. Only Allah knows if so and so will be punished for not wearing hijab)
At the end of the day nothing that islam permits as a form of 'force' can be worse than the punishment of God. However, islam does not permit all kinds of "force" and there are better kinds of "force" than others. Those rulers in Iran and Afghanistan should ensure that they aren't being too extreme or doing what Allah did not permit in order to enforce the hijab.
In my opinion, just educating about hijab and why it's important and obligatory can do more than threatening with capital punishment. So yeah I'm not happy with how hijab is being enforced in certain muslim states today. I do pray that things change for the better.

I have been watching your CZcams channel for over a year now and I really admire the work you are doing for all Muslims out there.
Your youtube shorts and videos about Islam, hijab and niqab are very informative, motivative and obliging .
We all know that Salah is one of the significant pillars of Islam.
But I have some doubts regarding praying.
    As demonstrated
Could you please make a video on How to pray Salah (women's edition)
I highly request you to make a video on this topic.
It will be really helpful for all Muslim women out there.
Besides, in India some people say that, both men and women and have same procedure to pray Salah. However some say that, men and women have different ways to perform Salah.
Furthermore your husband is an Islamic Scholar .
Thus I kindly request you to make a detailed video on CZcams about praying salah.
I hope that you will respond to me soon

Because they only believe in equality when it involves uncovering
They can respect a woman’s choice to uncover and even fight for it
But when a woman willingly covers herself, the “ideology” becomes misogynistic and talks of equality goes out the window

    • @themoonster5682
      @themoonster5682 Před rokem

@misbahailia3345 lslam's own sources tell us that women are below men. The Quran divinely sanctions wife beating (verse 4.34) and prepubescent sex (65.4) for example! Surely women deserve better than that!
Women in lran have no choice, whether they like it or not, but now we're seeing some willing to die for the freedom of others.
The uprising in Iran has come as no surprise. Secret surveys showed that up to a third of people no longer followed the faith but, as you know, they couldn't announce it publicly because they'd be punished for apostasy.

Please be careful about you words. Do not go here and there saying you hated the hijab as hating something Allah has prescribed is an act of kufr, and to go telling people you hated it is extremely wrong. I hope you see this and are now careful for next time. You were probably ignorant of this but just don’t go spreading it around again and saying you hated it. Regret what you have done and never do it again. InshaAllah Allah forgives if we err or make a mistake.

    🙏🌻🍀
    4:116 (The Women)
Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray
    5:72 (The Table Spread)
They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord" Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers
    4:171 (The Women)
O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion1 or say about Allah except the truth The Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him So believe in Allah and His messengers And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you Indeed, Allah is but one God Exalted is He above having a son To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs
    2:164 (Family of Imran)
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and earth are signs for a people who use reason
    18:29 (The Cave)
And say, "The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve" Indeed, We have prepared for the wrongdoers a fire whose walls will surround them And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like murky oil, which scalds [their] faces Wretched is the drink, and evil is the resting place
'Adi bin Hatim (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,] said, "Guard yourselves against the Fire (of Hell) even if it be only with half a date-fruit (given in charity); and if you cannot afford even that, you should at least say a good word"
    [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,] as saying that a person committed sin beyond measure and when he was going to die, he left this will:
(When I die), bum my dead body and then cast them (the ashes) to the wind and in the ocean By Allah, if my Lord takes hold of me, He would torment me as He has not tormented anyone else They did as he had asked them to do He (the Lord) said to the earth: Return what you have taken And he was thus restored to his (original form) He (Allah) said to him: What prompted you to do this? He said: My Lord, it was Thine fear or Thine awe, and Allah pardoned him because of this Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,] as saying that a woman was thrown into Hell-Fire because of a cat whom she had tied and did not provide it with food nor did she set it free to eat vermin of the earth until it died emaciated Az-Zuhri said: (These two ahadith) show that a person should neither feel confident (of getting into Paradise) because of his deeds, nor should he lose (all hopes) of getting into Paradise
