im a full time niqabi. as for whether i believe niqab is obligatory or not, i lean more into that it is obligatory. regardless of your stance, i think we can all agree that wearing niqab is mustahabb (highly recommended). may الله make it easy for the sisters who wear niqab in real life even if part time. that being said, those who wear niqab (and it’s usually just a half niqab) ONLY on social media should be very careful. if you don’t want to show yourself online, that’s understandable. however, using the niqab as a tool for that while participating in things that are strictly forbidden (like tabarujj, dancing, exposing one’s self), cheapens the niqab and as a niqabi, i do find that a bit offensive. i am in no way judging such sisters, nor have i ever commented under anyone’s post being rude or nasty to them, but they should definitely take into consideration the pillars of niqab while wearing it online. i also feel this way about the jilbab. may الله make it easy up on us all ‏آمين

    • @mrsr7954
      @mrsr7954 Před 2 lety +12

@@Sunny-yl4rm there are many reasons, it’s a protection for us in some cases but people argue that it gives out more attention because of how less clothing people wear nowadays and because our faces some scholars have said it’s part of our awrah like sheikh assim al hakeem because of our beauty. i’m pretty sure all schools of thought say niqab is highly recommended and hanafi school of thought even says if you wear makeup outside the house it’s not allowed.. you’d have to wear niqab. let’s be realistic here, what makes a man’s head turn to do zina of the eyes (yes even though they should be lowering their gaze) it’s a woman’s beauty or figure and that’s the cause of making them give a second glace or stare and even try to approach them and ik this cause there’s many sisters who talk about getting beeped at by cars and men approaching them. In the Quran allah revealed surah ahzab verse 59: “O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.”
There are so many interpretations to this one verse and one that even says leave one eye or two un covered to see the way but it’s evident that in common the translations all come to the conclusion that when a woman goes outside that they should cover themselves so they’re not recognised. Maybe it’s different for the different sects in islam but the quran is very simple for us to understand taking in consideration of the time each ayah was revealed and why.

      What is the evidence?
You must present the evidence if you claim something about Islam .
I don’t know any evidence suggesting that it is only “recommended” and not Fardh for Muslimaat to cover their faces in the presence of non Mahrams.
I don’t know if it is Wajib but I don’t confidently claim whether it is Wajib or recommended.
From all of the evidence I came across it indicates to me that covering the face for women is in fact Fardh.
But I won’t confidently claim so because I still need to learn more about the topic ,

Beautiful, masha'Allah. On the topic of the niqab, I want to say one thing. Unless you (whoever is reading this) are a scholar of Islam and have studied the issue of niqab extensively, you have no right to go around judging sisters and passive-aggressively making them submit to wearing a niqab. While you may worry for her security, it is wrong to make them feel like they are committing a major sin! As I said, you have no authority to superimpose what you want on the sister. If you are reading this comment and you do that, I urge you to stop because it does more damage than good. And maybe that's a sign you should check the condition of your heart because arrogance is not befitting of any believing Muslim.

Although it is recommended in Islam, I am of the opinion it is not obligatory, and hijab is enough. When we pray salat, we are only supposed to show face and hands and it’s not even accepted with face covered. This same word is used in the Quran ‘Khimar’. The prophet saw or Allah did not command any women to cover their face(according to my research I have not found) but the mothers of the believers did wear it because it was specific to them. Some people do it because men stare at their face but the prophet saw turned his cousins face away when he was staring at a woman. It puts more of the burden on the women when it’s not. I think the right way would be if someone wants to earn more rewards they can go out and wear one but saying it’s obligatory, there is a difference of opinion. You know there is also a Hadith of the prophet saw telling men to wear a kuffi or turban, but no one says anything about that? But there are hadiths about (not the prophet saw) but the mothers of believers covering their faces…but none sayings from the prophet saw, what? Idk to me maybe I need to research more but. If someone follows the opinion of hijab, because it is easier for their lifestyle especially going out, then there shouldn’t be a problem either!! Just my thoughts.

Asalaamu aleikum my beloved sister in deen🌷 hope all is well with you. There's two opinions regarding the hijab, that covering the face is obligatory and that its sunnah and highly recommended. The scholars that say it is highly recommended also say it is obligatory in times of fitnah.
Many people have different opinions of the hijab, some people even interpret that you should only cover your hair and chest. So how do we know the correct hijab?
We know that we can not interpret the quran solely on its own without the sunnah. And if we look at the sunnah we can find sahih evendences on how the women and the wives of the prophet s.a.w understood the ayah of the hijab. And also, if they interpreted it wrong or if it was only legislated or obligatory upon the prophet s.a.w's wives, then he s.a.w would inform the ummah or correct them before his death, because everything that was needed to know about islam was clear before his s.a.w's death.
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e. screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [al-Ahzab 33:59]
It was narrated from Safiyyah bint Shaybah that ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) used to say: When these words were revealed - “and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms)” - they took their izars (a kind of garment) and tore them from the edges and covered their faces with them. Narrated by al-Bukhari, 4481.
After the ayah of the hijab was revealed
, the women would put garments over their heads and let it drape down.
Regarding what you said about prayer, yes, a women should not cover her face in prayer when shes alone or in a place without non mehrams. But if she believes that the niqab is obligatory, then she has to pray with the niqab on (only when there are none mehrams present tho) that means that when she's praying alone or at a place where no non mehrams can see her she can pray without her niqab.
      And Allah knows best
Alhamdulillah our deen is very clear, theres a lot of knowledge out there for us to seek but always take knowledge from the quran and sunnah, these two sources cannot be changed and by following the sunnah of the prophet s.a.w we can understand many different rulings and legislations from the qur'an. I hope my answer was relevant and understandable, if not feel free to let me know dear sister and i apologize for writing such a long text but i hope it was beneficial in shaa Allah..
If i said anything wrong it is from myself or shaytaan, and if i said anything good it is from Allah and His messenger s.a.w.
أشهد أن لا إله إلا أنت، أستغفرك وأتوب إليك
(O Allah, You are free from every imperfection; praise be to You. I testify that there is no true god except You; I ask Your Pardon and turn to You in repentance)

Answer: “If a woman is praying in her house or in a place where no men can see her except for her mahaarim, then she exposes her face and her hands in order for her forehead and nose to touch directly in prostration. Likewise, her two hands.
As for if she is praying in a place and there a men who are not her mahaarim, then it is necessary for her to cover her face because covering her face from men who are not her mahaarim is obligatory. It is not allowed for her to uncover her face in front of them as is that is proven in the Book of Allah, the Exalted and the Sunnah of Messenger (ﷺ) and according to the correct opinion of one who is intelligent, let alone a believer.

I have heard of it before.

But I won’t confidently claim so because I still need to learn more about the topic ,
      ‎إن شآء الله
      ‎الله أَعْلَم
The noble wives of Rasul صلى الله عليه وسلم who are the Ummahaatul Mu’mineen
      ‎رضي الله عنهن
whom no man from the Ummah could marry because ALLAH Declared them to be our “Mothers,” used to cover their faces in the presence of men (apart from their fathers ,brothers etc) then how about us common women?
What is one of the main beauty traits of a woman?
      Her beautiful face.
      ‎الحَمدُ لله
Do you like random men looking at your face(even if they don’t do it intentionally)?

Assalaamu Alaikum. Thank you for your review. It's getting more and more difficult to find affordable, quality, truly modest clothing. And as for niqab, I've never worn it as a daily habit, but the COVID mask thing has really taught me some surprising joys of having my face covered!! For instance, i've come to relish being able to do constant adkhar and qur'an recitation without anyone wondering whether i'm talking to myself (as i ride public transport). And, as a somewhat withdrawn person by nature anyway, masking has provided a level of comfort & anonymity. In fact, i feel uneasily willing to surrender my mask as Covid rules are relaxed for this reason. There are other benefits i've enjoyed too. There are even occasions where i've accidentally caught a glimpse of my reflection and thought-- you look like a niqabi. So, i find myself wondering whether all this means i'm ready to wear niqab full time.

"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." John 8:58
Trust in Jesus, Hell is real and eternal! This is what the Bible says about it..
"The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 13: 41-42
Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven "I am the way, the truth, and the life no one comes to the father but by me." John 14:6 Ask God to reveal this to you- He will!
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 ADMIT THAT YOU'RE A SINNER. We've all broken God's laws and ten commandments.. "Thou shalt not lie, steal, covet, dishonor parents, take God's name in vain.."(Exodus 20) We do not have righteousness on our own to get to heaven, "God made him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Cor. 5:21 Godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against the righteous God and there is a change of heart, we change our mind and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out. God is deadly serious about sin, when we genuinely repent we hate sin just as God hates it, and we turn away from it.
"But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS, WAS BURIED, AND THAT GOD RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he was. He saves us from sin and hell and brings us into a relationship with him. We become God's children. We are saved from hell, eternal death.
"For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13 CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD. Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
Read the Bible, Walk with the Lord and give your life to Him!

REGARDING COVERING THE FACE WHILE IN HAJJ/UMRAH/BEING IN A STATE OF IHRAM:
Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
What is meant by “women should not wear the niqab or gloves” is that they should not wear something that is made to fit the face, such as the niqab, or to fit the hands, such as gloves. It does not mean that a woman should not cover her face and hands, as some people imagine. It is obligatory to cover them, but with something other than the niqab and gloves.
End quote from Majmoo‘ Fataawa Ibn Baaz (5/223)
Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said in ash-Sharh al-Mumti‘ (7/165):
There is no report from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that forbids the woman to cover her face; rather it is narrated that it is not allowed to wear the niqab [when in ihram], which is more specific than covering the face, because the niqab is a garment made to fit the face. It is as if women were forbidden to wear garments made to fit the face, as men were forbidden to wear garments made to fit the body. End quote.
Thus it is clear that the reason why the woman in ihram is forbidden to wear the niqab is because it has been made to fit the face. Therefore the scholars said that the woman’s face in ihram is like the man’s body.
      And Allah knows best.

Although I am Christian, I veil, including niqab, when going outside, because Lady Miriyam,, the Virgin Mary, is the model for Christian ladies who love modesty. In Eastern Orthodoxy, she is never depicted with hair showing (so far as I'm aware), but is shown wearing abaya, hijab underscarf, and hijab. True, she is never shown wearing niqab, but I wear it because I am a recluse by nature and a Schema nun and veiling completely allows me to maintain purdah.
Those are lovely niqabs. My personal favorite is a 4-layer Yemeni niqab which allows maximum coverage, however the flap niqab is very nice, too. Sunnah Style has separate niqab flaps, so I have a couple of those to wear with niqab if it's not the flap variety.
I've worn abaya/jilbab and hijab for many years but about four years ago, I began to feel led to increase my modesty, so after much thought and prayer, I began to veil completely. For me, it is a blessing and a protection.

That's a great color - yes..Lol - yes, I do agree on Navy Blue, it's because I thought I was wearing black! It is true; that the Niquab is optional and the womans choice 100% but I find it to be the "status of modesty" for the Muslima. I would ONLY marry a Niquabi, because of her modesty and acknowledgement of Islam, though I respect all Muslima's and their choices. Women make their choices, Men make their choices. My future wife will be Niquabi Insha Allah.
