I do this all year with 3 different pizza places in town. I take their oil for free. (I personally know two of them) and it powers my Ford Excursion 6.0 powerstroke. Now there's some myths about biodiesel... Many people think it renders you completely independent from fossil fuels. It doesn't. You still need regular diesel to be in the engine and all fuel lines upon startup and shutoff. Otherwise: the oil, although filtered and cleaned of all impurities: can still gelatinize in the fuel lines and clog up the valves rendering your car useless. What I did was re-work the main fuel tank to hold 37 gallons of biodiesel.. and I have a smaller, 7.5 gallon tank of high-sulfer diesel. Upon startup: the truck uses the regular diesel. Then after a few minutes, an aftermarket red light on my dashboard shuts off... meaning the veggie oil in my main tank is warm enough to flow freely through the lines. So I activate a switch on the dash (also aftermarket) and switch from diesel to biodiesel. When I want to shut the engine off: I switch the fuel feed back to the regular diesel and wait about 5 minutes (it helps a lot if you know that you're 5 minutes away from your destination so you can just switch it then and there instead of having to idle for 5 minutes in the parking or your driveway) After 5 minutes: your fuel lines should be flushed of the biodiesel and you can shut it off. If your engine is off... so is the heating element in the veggie oil tank. So don't worry about it overheating and causing a fire. It doesn't get it anywhere near it's flash point anyways. Hope this helps anyone looking to convert a diesel to biodiesel!

B20 is already at what most manufactures classify as the safe sulfur to bio diesel ratio. Cooking oil and olive oil are not necessarily one in the same when we're talking about fuel as there's going to be different fat to oil ratios. I would suggest trying to find a bio diesel manufacturer in your area or even a trusted diesel mechanic that could help better answer your question.

What compressor? What is the processor, two pipe nipples and some elbows? Which heating element? I guess I'm left with an open mind, craving information.
Thats the thing. Biofuel is a name for all fuels made from biological materials. Vegetable oil is one of those. just like furniture is a group for tables, chairs, or desks.
no, diesel engines were designed to run on vegetable oils, as a matter of fact, when Diesel first showed his engine it was running on peanut oil, however if you have a recent vehicle (2008+) will have a DPF, if you have this I wouldn't use more of a B20 mix, unless you drive on the freeway a lot, but with Tijuana's traffic, I wouldn't recommend it if you have a new vehicle, but if you remove the DPF then you'll be able to run it on B100 (biodiesel 100%)

How can this be precise when nothing is mentioned about a catalyst for separation of glycerin from bio-diesel with methoxide? The glycerin settles to the bottom of the tank and bio-deisel rise to the top of the tank. The glycerin is then drained off with a value at the bottom of the reactor tank.
Yes in the long term it will save money, for example in 10 years time you will still be queing up at the gas station to fill your car! This Guy will still be brewing his own using the same cans and machine. You could down scale it to your own needs etc too. Food blender, coffee filter paper etc

Wicked! Just remember that this is not the whole process. If you want to go 100% bio diesel you need more chemicals and equipment. If you just want to help increase fuel economy by mixing with regular diesel then this video is all you need.
Wow
Brother been doing it for years. Makes for very cheap running.
That's it!
legitimately considering getting a turbodiesel as my first car right now
There are many simpler video that this on CZcams
is this part one?
This video should be titled "HOW TO FILTER COOKING OIL"
What compressor? What is the processor, two pipe nipples and some elbows? Which heating element? I guess I'm left with an open mind, craving information.
I saw a video on hos they do this with no machines or apparatus in the Philippines. They don't use it for cars, only generators and farm machines.
@bkellam That was actually a picture of a coal power plant. Do a google image search of coal power plants and you will see.
Should be called: How to waste your time with cooking oil.
Matt's Van Life Vegetable oil works in a diesel car. The vegetable oil he refines is the Biofuel. I'm not joking it actually works on a diesel car
how can we transfer the Vegetable oil or cooking oil to biofuel
Thats the thing. Biofuel is a name for all fuels made from biological materials. Vegetable oil is one of those. just like furniture is a group for tables, chairs, or desks.
This video is about filtering and heating used cooking oil.
We believe that petroleum after all is limited. biodiesel is production from waste cooking oil or vegetable oil + ethanol or methanol
Great info.
Love the tiny bit of cursing at the beginning about and i quote, " fucking up your pump." Rofl'd
why did you show a nuclear power station's cooling towers when you were talking about oil power stations?
Because that's what you do when you're a dumbass and you're making a video that you know nothing about
I live in Tijuana mex, need some kit for the truck use biodisel,?
no, diesel engines were designed to run on vegetable oils, as a matter of fact, when Diesel first showed his engine it was running on peanut oil, however if you have a recent vehicle (2008+) will have a DPF, if you have this I wouldn't use more of a B20 mix, unless you drive on the freeway a lot, but with Tijuana's traffic, I wouldn't recommend it if you have a new vehicle, but if you remove the DPF then you'll be able to run it on B100 (biodiesel 100%)
I have 97 2.5 turbo diesel Jeep. I drive it on 100% vegetable oil and it works great without any modifications. OK, temperature must be 10 Celsius or more.

What will this do to food prices if cars compete with mouths? Will water become a more valuable commodity as we need more and more land under the plow?
hi I want to setup ethanol manufacturing plant in my backyard for trial basis could you help me how can I get all machinery and setup plan... Please help me.
Waste of time money and effort to end up with a corrosive fuel and water build up problems
Guess I need to rewatch. I completely missed the part about making biodiesel from cooking oil.
Wow😍
theres alot more then just heating it up i mean if you aleast want it to be really good
guys how about a regular cooking oil will it work, coz I don't have veggie oil
How come the cooking oil didn't turn into biodiesel at the restaurant when they warned it up. Or did I nod off for a bit.
@coolakiIlen007 75% of polish taxi drivers do this for years now. but they only filter used oil. you can mix it with diesel but 300D runs fine on 100$ cooking oil.
Left a lot of unanswered questions.
u should explain what kind reaction involves whether it is transesterification or esterification, and how do these reactions works... This will help people to understand more :-)
Congratulations you have just properly filtered your used cooking oil and can begin your bio-diesel home brew process? I thought the video was about the process they stopped just before starting not on how to properly filter used cooking oil, or did I miss something?
Totally agree that they missed steps. Technically what they show can be used when being added to sulfur diesel to power a vehicle even the newest high compression diesel's.
You can decrease our dependence on foreign oil by NOT purchasing fuel.
may i have the consent to use this for my video speech?
