We actually have a pending trip to Japan with them. We'll see how it goes. Like we mentioned in another comment, we've been impressed about how they've handled the pandemic. The leg room is not great, but OK for shorter flights. We've had good experienced in person, not so great over the phone though. This is great information guys. Nicely done.
We just flew them during the pandemic and they've handled everything pretty well but it's disappointing they crowd their flights. So unsafe.
The new united quest card would fit you guys perfect. FYI I do work for them but seeing how much you fly us imo the value would fit you perfect.

Comment by Carmencita: Most European airlines, offer the kind of service we would really love to enjoy from the US airlines. On most European airlines flying economy is actually nice, in terms of what they are willing to provide to the passenger, like real food, snacks, and well-deserved courtesy.
There are US airlines that we've experienced that compare well to international airlines too.

Today I went through George Bush intercontinental Airport. It's been 40 years since I've flown ,I expected the worst ,but the United airlines employees were awesome kind friendly and helpful. The TSA was very good. They made what could be a stressful situation a pleasure. I understand this is not everyone's experience, but it was mine, if united reads this? Your employees are awesome

Hey guys! We have used United a couple of times but living near La Guardia we always try to fly with them plus we love the airline. We travel differently so there are things that would make me travel with united if we were traveling like you. As you know we always check in. I have anxieties so I have to pick my seat and it has to be as close to an exit as possible and to the front, so all that carries more expenses. Hope you get to travel with United to other international destinations so you can share your thoughts as well then. We will be waiting for your reviews
Totally makes sense. And when traveling internationally we've always found other airlines to have more inexpensive prices than United. We are actually flying with United next week but didn't want to wait to do the review lol. We'll likely talk about flying with them during covid. Can't wait to fly overseas again 🥺

I also flew first class on the smaller plane for an El Paso trip. I'm ready to try a larger plane for the full experience.
This put my mind at ease for my EWR-SFO trip - luckily this one will be on a Boeing 777, so hopefully a bit more room. I’m too used to Southwest personally. I haven’t flown on a United plane in 26 years - at that time, it was on a 747 between SFO and Sydney.
More room is definitely helpful for cross country. We are about to drop a new video where we do the same trip (EWR to SFO) on Alaska Airlines.

Thank you for your review! We're about to fly United from the east coast to Hawaii the first week of May..This helped calm my nerves a bit. It's almost an 11hr flight but I think it'll be ok. Do you know if we're allowed to have a carry on bag and personal item bag? Or is it one or the other..? Were flying regular economy, where you pick your seat.

LUGGAGE TIPS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Tie three or four colored ribbons around the handle to your luggage to warn others that this is not their luggage. People grab luggage at the turnstile and take it home before you ever see it.
Anywhere you put your bag, it could be grabbed in error. Example: overhead compartment, unloaded from the bus, at the hotel lobby, at the airport turnstile...
These ribbons make your luggage different and EASY TO SPOT when the piece is surrounded by 35 other cases unloaded from the bus. Using 4 ribbons make it immediately different than other cases with 1 ribbon.
Use 1” wide ribbons 14” long and not longer. Cut the ends at 45 degrees.
Tie the ribbons as a sandwich, as if they were one ribbon. Use a man’s tie, a half Windsor knot for the best look. After it is tied on, the total length of the ribbons will be about 5 inches from the handle. This is too short to catch on anything such as rollers.
Scissor cut trim the ribbons to cascading different lengths after they are tied. Put a drop of Super Glue at the end.
If each ribbon is slightly a different length by 1/4” the color layers will all show up no matter how they drape.
You can see these ribbons from 40 feet away.
Perhaps tie TWO handles or RINGS top and side of the case.
Tie using a HALF WINDSOR KNOT to the metal buckle ring of the handle.

Put your phone number on one ribbon using a fine point permanent Sharpie.
Example: “Owner 454-333-7878”
No personal name necessary.
No address necessary on the ribbon.
Choose one ribbon with an unusual pattern or fabric to really make it unique. The 4th ribbon could be black color.
Stand by the output port of the turnstile to reduce the chance of someone else grabbing your piece.
Tie your skiies, duffel bag, backpack and what ever else with matching ribbons-even your computer case.
If you are a Travel Agent, you could hot gold stamp one ribbon with your name and phone number. Send them a set of ribbons, red and blue and BLACK to your customer as a gift. Record this gift in your database so you don’t duplicate yourself.
Buy a gold hot embossing machine. Gold emboss your business name on the BLACK ribbon. Put the customer’s name on it if possible.
Pleasant color combinations:
Red, white and blue
Chartreuse and purple and orange
Orange and light blue
Orange and yellow
Gray and pink
Green and yellow
Red and Green
Red and Gold
Light blue and light green and white
The 4th ribbon could be white, gray, black, tan
Tip #2 Take a cell phone picture of the ribbon tied on. Then another picture of the full luggage piece. You now have a way to communicate “what it looks like” if someone is tasked with searching for it. Take this picture outside in direct sun not under neon lights.
Tip #3 Place a strip of colored duct tape on the inside lining to your case. Put TWO pieces in DIFFERENT places such as INSIDE a pocket to the case. If you dare, put your phone number DIRECTLY ON THE FABRIC Liner of the case WITHOUT USING TAPE. Or, put your name and phone number on this tape. If all identity is stripped from your case, you have this to show. If someone steals it and rips off identity tags, you can show the police officer the inside tape...
To be sneaky about the tape, put your phone number on the STICKY side of the tape. Nothing is on the surface side of this tape.
Tip #4
Put your phone number on a 2” x 1/2” piece of fabric or plastic sheet. Use colored Duct tape, such as black or red or neon, to tape this message to the top side of the handle. This message is under the tape hidden from view. The lettering does not touch the sticky part. Wrap it 2-3 times. Also include Tips 1,2,3 above. If you need to prove identity of the case, just unwrap it and show.
Tip #5 ADDING UNIQUENESS
4 ribbons
1 designer ribbon
colored taped handle
stencil spray paint a 2” stencil letter or number or word to the suit case surface in addition to using all the ideas here.
Stencil spray paint a letter to the top ribbon.
Use ribbons that are wider or more narrow than 1”.
Put a travel sticker on the case.
Tip #6 WEIGH YOUR OWN
Scales may vary at different airports. If you are even 1 pound over, you pay. So, regulate yourself. Found on Ebay, buy a
HAND HELD DIGITAL SCALE
It is less than $15.

You arrive approximately 1/1000 of a second after the business class passengers. Should ask if the first and business class seats are worth it. You pay up to 10 times as much. If cost is no factor pay up.
Hello I love your video I'm flying on United and Jet Blue very soon im concerned about my bag it may be 2 to 3 inches off the allowed size if its not jammed packed can I use it or will they charge me..its a Adidas duffel bag..

So I watched this video because it’ll be my first time flying with United & I’m also confused about their carry-on/sizing policy. Will I be able to have my LV Keepall 55 as my carry-on .. I have a regular economy ticket (it doesn’t say basic so I’m not sure)
If you don't have basic economy, a regular carry on size is fine.

I booked to fly United for the first time this coming July to London from LAX and hearing you guys say they have delays often makes me nervous because of my layover in between 😬😓 How long are their delays on average?
I don't remember us saying they have delays but It really just depends on the weather where you're departing and where you're arriving. Outside of that it's pretty rare. With that in mind the delays (and their duration) are again dependent on the weather mostly. Leaving from LAX I'm sure you'll be in the clear. I can only think of a couple of times we've been delayed and it was during a downpour, 9.5/10 it's smooth sailing.

Is this a 4 out of 5? I haven't flown United yet. I have to say Delta is my overall favorite airline. I think they get a 5 out of 5 in almost every area of service. Jet Blue would be my second fav because of the super wide leg room (I always get Blue, not Blue Basic). For the worst I've ever taken, goes to Virgin Airlines. It's horrible, horribly cramped. American Airlines felt the same way. I've luckily never flown Spirit tho, and never will lol
Yup out of 5. Blue and Blue Basic have the same seating. You just have less privileges like not choosing your seat. In a video we just filmed to review JetBlue, we realized the width of the seats may be slightly cramped but your legs do have room. We like JetBlue too.

But yes the reason why I like JetBlue is because of the wide legroom, but the reason why I always get Blue and not Blue Basic is specifically because I want to be able to bring a carry on and choose my own seat. Over the summer we just had our first international flight with them. The good was okay. Not as good as the international airlines we've been on.
I have a question, I'll be travelling from Houston to Lisbon and I'm so confused. I have a basic economy ticket, so I could only bring a personal bag. But it stays that trans Atlantic flights are an exception. Then I'm hearing people say I could only bring a personal bag. Please help!
This hasn't happened to us yet but to my understanding, you can bring a carry on as well. When you booked this flight and on your receipt should explain your bag allowances. If not reach out them via social media for an answer.

This is on their site. If you're traveling on a Basic Economy ticket and bring a carry-on bag to the gate, your bag will need to be checked and you'll be required to pay the applicable checked bag fee plus a $25 gate handling charge (payment by credit card only).

We are flying to Canada in the next few months. I'm not sure what our food options will be since it's a 6 hour international flight, but we'll have snacks. What are the options for entertainment? I checked out their website, but it was unclear whether you have to pay for it or not.
Usually there is backseat entertainment on United. It would be free.

After you check in 24 hours before your flight, you can access your boarding pass through the app or print the boarding pass at the airport at a kiosk.

1. Flights bought together are often sat together, but with that said, if it's a very full flight, this may be unavoidable. Some airlines have recently said they will promise to keep all families together but we're not sure this is one.
2. Your kid's bag just needs to be the appropriate required measurements and they should be fine to put it underneath their seat.

Likely they will but often it's dependent on the aircraft you end up with.

Not completely sure if we're understanding your question but you can also stop in your nearest airport and bring the bag to put in the bag sizer. This is how they check dimensions.

Not really but if it doesn't fit in the overhead they'll take it and check it in.

But I have a question, I'm a overseas student and I will take a United's economy flight this month, and I intend to carry my guitar so can I do that, it's important for me to bring it with me because It's my mom's gift. It's less than 158LCM with a thin bag and about 165LCM with a thick bag

i have a 15 hr flight on united omg !!
Okay so I watched this before take off when my kiddo and I went to Arkansas, we flew Economy Plus (Economy), and Basic Economy. I'm 6'1" 365lbs, with being about 60% leg. Flying down was nice, it was not so much of a pain either way. Snug but not uncomfortable in Economy Plus/Economy. Except on the Embrar (however its spelled aka the puddle jumper of doom), and the leg room sucked. The 737 for Economy Plus was great on the leg room. Now coming back, oh eff all that noise. No legroom on either of the planes (we got rescheduled onto a different plane and got refunded for paying for that extra happiness of Economy Plus), at one point I actually had to ask the person in front of me to not lean back. She got huffy, so when I stood up to stretch, she completely understood and apologized. So lesson here - get the Plus. Because you get to board earlier, you have some extra legroom. Basic Economy is a nightmare through and through, and I will be buying Economy Plus from now on. Do NOT be afraid to ask for a seatbelt extender. They won't guilt trip you about it. Hell I had one handed to me before I even got to our seats which was neat. But that Embrar, for the love of goddess, catch the bulk head if you can, or pray that you don't have someone inconsiderate in front of you.
Funny that you mention Economy Plus. The main perk is legroom which clearly helped in this case. Ohhhhhh yes we've been on dinner tiny United planes. Never fun.
No. If you are travelling internationally do not use any major US airline if there is an alternative. I only us major US airlines when travelling in the US.

People say that United is bad. They are WRONG
United gets a bad wrap in reviews for reasons I have no idea why-- I've flown on Alaska recently and it was truly awful yet it's rated highly. United flights are basic flights but at least they offer basic amenities and flights everywhere. Alaska no wifi in economy and no tv screen and no food on a 7 hour flight? Garbage. United on the other hand offers all of that. Alaska also was late.
United is an unfairly bashed airline that actually does a good job and offers affordable flights anywhere.
I guess if you have NEVER flown on a plane??? Otherwise?

Just flew UA from Sfo to Fra roundtrip. The service was mediocre on business and a waste of money. I returned on premium plus and it was not much worse than business. Service in either class is bad. United Business lounge at SFO is a joke. Nothing changed…UA is horrible. The staff seems not to care…Look at other Airlines, like Turkish Air, Lufthansa or Quatar. They are worlds better.

United used to be better. My last flight- hard seat, cramped, crap screen to look at with no good entertainment, stuffy, and this was economy plus. Horrible flight, they need to work on the quality for customers. Also the food was super overpriced and not good. 👎
The worst airline in terms of comfort and service , i have been travelling for 20 yrs and by far the worst airline for international economy flight.
How tall is your husband? I’m 6ft but idk if That’s still short enough to have leg room
6' 2". In economy this leaves very little legroom depending on the plane.
