- During Jon Stewart's return to "The Daily Show" Monday evening, he ripped apart Tucker Carlson's interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Carlson, the first American to interview Putin since Russia invaded Ukraine two years ago, failed to push back on the Russian president's ridiculous claims, including when Putin suggested that World War II was Poland's fault for not returning land to Hitler.

They say "Poo-tin" and it's not like we've ever heard him pronounce it so, if that's wrong, we don't have any way of knowing. What Jon said is not what was shown in the clip. In the clip Putin is saying that the germans asked poland for the region and they refused. Tucker agreed with that historical fact.

It's not like Putin made a compelling argument that persuaded millions that he was right. It is however, very interesting to hear his reasoning why. And who knows he may have made up everything he said in the interview. Regardless, it is very interesting to hear from the opposite side instead of constantly listening to "Our" side.

But i am fairly certain that Hitler would have found another reason to invade Poland even if they surrendered Danzig.
And another note, the invasion of Poland may be considered the start of ww2. But it did not turn into the international conflict it was until Germany decided to take a shortcut through the Belgium to bypass the Maginot line.

Danzig literally belonged to Germany, its population, culture and language were German, but the area was taken from Germany after the First World War. It is a fact that after refusing to return the Danzig, Hitler conspired with the Soviets to divide Poland between both, however before the German-Soviet pact, Germany proposed to Poland a pact between the two against the Soviet Union, which Poland also rejected, thus remaining between two hostile nations. Call me a fascist but what I'm telling you is a historical fact.
