God this is one of the best games I've ever seen. And one of the best devlogs. I was feeling stressed and tired, but then I saw this video, and I felt a wave of peace wash over me. Thanks for that. I'm in the middle of a test, so that really helped.
I saw that at the start of the tutorial level, there was some writing on a stone marker explaining what buttons to use. I think it would be cooler for the game to explain what keys or buttons you can use to play the game through the axolotl somehow. The axolotl could tell you what buttons you need to press in the tutorial, rather than relying on the stone marker.
Wow, this game looks so good, both visually and my imagined design of the ghosting mechanic! This devlog also gave me some ideas for the 2D PVP grappling hook game I'm making, so thanks a ton!
looking good, just want to note that your mountain layer's pixel size looks large then everything else, you may want to check if it was imported wrong or drawn wrong, I noticed it looked off. the grey mountains to be clear.
Holy moly this game looks so beautiful!!! But I wish you would add some kinda multiplayer... I know its unrelated, but I want to play this game soo bad but solo games get so boring when you left alone to your own thought. I feel like id buy it but never play. And I know theres a lot of people like me who (mostly) only play multiplayer games, because it adds a whole new layer of gameplay. Maybe somewhere way down the development road there could be a multiplayer mode/DLC/whatever that adds a new story/quests and lets you do group puzzles with friends. Idk.. id totally convince all my friends to buy the game and play it with me. Great devlog series so far btw, love all the updates and the game looks incredible.
For sure! Devlog 2 on our channel talks in more detail about our wire framing and play testing process. Honestly though, we’ve tested with some 30-40 more people since that video…
Awesome stuff! I suggest you consider removing the ordering number from the devlog episodes because new people are less likely to click on episode 5 if they haven't watched the previous few. Since each devlog seems to have it's own theme, I think the videos are pretty independent and the rest can be derived:)
I think you meant blockout instead of wireframes since wireframes have to do with 3D models but you may just be using a term for blockouts that i haven't heard before.
Second and third background is too clearly visible, because of this everything is in the same brightness and the player isn't stand out. Everything blends together.

I'm like 85% sure these super polished game dev videos are hidden advertisements put out by the engine's marketing teams, lol.
lol honestly I'll take that as a compliment! Maybe Opera/GMS2 could hire us as freelancers as a side gig lol...
Holy moly this game looks so beautiful!!!

Would like to hear more about about Wireframing especially in the context of game dev!
For sure! Devlog 2 on our channel talks in more detail about our wire framing and play testing process. Honestly though, we’ve tested with some 30-40 more people since that video…
Damn! The game is so beautiful and the movement is so smooth...
Wow ❤

👍
Do you guys have a soundtrack for the game jet?
It’s in the works!

Yeah I’m coming from the world of UX where anything quick and lo-fidelity is called a wireframe as well.
@@OandCoGamesAh understandable. Still though the art and gameplay looks fantastic. I can't wait to see more!
:)
celeste but dash is replaced with teleport
Lol you’re not wrong. Chapters 2-8 will have different movement systems as well.
Second and third background is too clearly visible, because of this everything is in the same brightness and the player isn't stand out. Everything blends together.
I wish I had artists for my games 😢😢, if any artist sees my comment and want to collab leave a comment 😂
