I'm sorry, but I don't really think EVERY teen turns rebellious or submissive in their teenage years. You could be a bit of both, or non at all. If the mother had treated her children equally, it wouldn't have sparked the anger and resentment in her daughter, which in turn wouldn't have caused all these problems. I think most of the problems were caused by the mother's treatment of her daughter, and which parent in their right mind would call the cops on their own child?

After they are adults they can be responsible to fix their own behavior. But even as adults, fixing our parents mistakes it's hard and some mistakes should have never happened cause we didn't deserve a lifetime of therapy and misery.

These mothers play favorites and damage their children for a lifetime. How awful! The mother has unresolved feelings toward girls because of her sister, which is also sad.

I feel her, we're the same but kinda in a different way. Whenever my brother and i fight my parents would always pick his side saying that he's more older than me that's why i should respect him even tho we're fighting because of how my brother treats me, like everything he wants me to do a chore he would pinch and pull out my hair. And the sad part is, they don't even let me explain. And if i managed to, they wouldn't understand it. And everytime i make jokes they wouldn't laugh, but when my brother makes one?they would even if its cringey. My father would always tell me that there's nothing going to happen to my life when i grow up, im just gonna get married with no job and get abused by my FuTUre husband. AND AS IF I WOULD LIKE TO GET MARRIED?

my parents did both sometimes theyed show clear bias and say "we have always been equal" it was so frustrating theyd lie to ur face, and some times they be like "his clearly our favorite" i dnt know which is worse, parents should learn that although its natural to love one child a little more this should never be felt by the children.

If I was her I would suggest to just leave the house and to somewhere else because they don't deserve a daughter like her. Life really is like that sometime though 😬

This same thing happened to me, my mom favored my brother over me. It even carried into our adulthood. Finally at age 37 I had enough. I just walked away and moved on with my life. Not one person in my immediate family ever reached out to me. I lived 30 miles away from them, go figure!
