    Giannis is one of only 13 players in NBA history who has won back-to-back regular season MVP awards.
    He's made five straight 1st Team All-NBA appearances and is well on his way to a 6th.
    You can’t deny how dominant of an offensive force the Greek Freak is in the paint, how incredible of a defender he’s worked to become, and how inspiring his journey from a skinny kid in Athens to NBA superstar is to millions of basketball fans.

    Love or hate him- what Giannis is doing is SO overlooked. In the past 4+ years there’s a handful of guys getting better at everything putting up a solid 30+ pts , w double doubles and triple doubles falling out of their pockets no matter what happens. Despite the most intense changes these guys have ever known, despite the struggles, or the literal walls built to defend him the difference Giannis makes no matter the challenge - offense AND defense EVERY night. You got Giannis, - embiid (who is now out but likely started the strongest) and Jokic (reigning champ and mvp by no means going downwards)- and they are the best in the nba right now. Luka super close but not as defensively insane so I I see him one step behind (but the scary thing is he’s SO young) but lacking in the department of he’s had some rapid ups and downs when it comes to wins. SGA barely behind statistically.
    If Giannis keeps this upward trend and really figures it out I watched the guy drop insane numbers on terrible nights, hit from 3 without missing, hit from midrange, do whatever it takes to win.
    If he takes it to the finals you can’t deny it anymore. I really believe this year whoever proves themselves should get it and the journey does matter.
    Idk when I look at everyone’s journey this year and the way they deal with their challenges I think it’s crazy he’s not in the conversation. With the bucks you’re watching teams build walls around Giannis and blitz dame and no matter what Giannis drops numbers.

    One thing this year with Boston vs Bucks is in the past Celtics played small and forced Lopez off the court. Some playoff games vs Boston he played under 20 minutes. He was the key to Bucks drop D. With Porzingus Lopez will play more

    • @chiefnakoma
      @chiefnakoma Před měsícem

      @@tyriantaylor711 Of course that's a downside of playing drop that KP can help exploit, but the advantage of drop with Lopez is lots of times it forces tough mid range 2s from guys like Tatum and Brown or it forces as JJ said these guys driving and being contested by Lopez who is holding players to the 3rd lowest finishing FG percentage at the rim in the NBA. There's a reason Boston went small in past playoffs series and constantly brought guys like Portis, Pat or Khris into pick and roll actions to then attack those guys at the rim with way higher success than Lopez guarding the rim. With all the other guys the Bucks switch. Their other bigs aren't good at drop. Lopez off the court allows teams to get a more favorable switch onto the defender they wish to attack

    • @tyriantaylor711
      @tyriantaylor711 Před měsícem

      @@chiefnakomaBoston can get into favor matchups even with Lopez on the court , cause we all know Lopez has to respect Porzingis as a shooter, teams are gonna continue to go after Beasley and Dame it just teams without Shooting Bigs or can’t go small is when Lopez can overhelp without any consequences, like against the Timberwolves, Brook can help off Gobert or against Denver can help off Gordon, but against teams like Miami and Boston have Centers that can force bigs out the paint, Boston can literally have Porzingis at the 3 pt line and attack matchups elsewhere and force Brook to stick to Porzingis or give up a open a three trying to overhelping

    • @chiefnakoma
      @chiefnakoma Před měsícem

      @@tyriantaylor711 Can say the same for Lopez. Camp out on the 3pt line and pull KP away from protecting the paint. My main point was in the past with Rob Williams, Boston would choose to not play him to keep the Bucks best defender off the floor in Lopez. Milwaukee under Bud rarely took advantage of having a smaller guy on Lopez on the offensive end and he was a liability trying to guard a faster big like Grant Williams, so he didn't play a ton in their series 2 years ago. Boston is clearly a match problem for everyone, which is why they are #1 in the NBA

    Brook under Doc is staying mostly inside the paint in which he shines on defense , Giannis is defending high on screens and help defends inside the rim and the guards switch more on the periphery and stay away from the rim because its covered.
    Thats why their defense improved so much.
    On offense they move the ball way more under Doc .
    So Doc made them a team. Facts !!!
    Are they title contenders ? Not yet.
    Dame is not 100% yet , Middleton is not a part of the equasion yet. If those two circumastances add up then the Bucks will not just be title contenders but favourites. Its a big if though.
    You cant rely on Portis and Beasley during the play offs to be main guns on offense.
    Play off time you need KMid from mid range and Dame driving and from 3 point line so Giannis wont get doubled or 3pled as much and of course then the Greek Freak will take no prisoners.

    Historically, the Celtics' strategy of stacking the team with all-stars, most of whom fill the same or a similar role, destroys in the regular season and flops in the postseason. But the defensive talent on this team is insane, especially for the modern era. Teams that try this strategy are usually middling or outright bad on D, so it'll be interesting to see if this works this time. Then again, the Celtics themselves have been trying this strategy for years with Tatum and Brown. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they finish with the league's best record. I would be surprised if they win a chip.
    The Celtics' playoff chances seem to hinge on the health of Porzingis, White, and Holiday. People don't talk about Derrick White enough. He's like Ginobili or Kawhi in that his numbers aren't always flashy, but very quietly he is one of the best players in the game.

    Imagine if the Warriors had traded for Porzingis instead of CP3. Finally would've had a shot blocking big who can shoot 3s and score around 20pts on offense. Pair that alongside Draymond, Wiggins/Kuminga, Klay, Curry. It's not like the Warriors couldn't beat the package the Celtics gave them. Especially since the Wizards ended up wanting Poole for CP3. We could've added some picks and/or Moody.
    Chris Paul is great for the young guys and when Curry isn't on the court but he's also much older than Porzingis and injury prone. Also, the Warriors who are already small just added a guy who would make your team much smaller if you ever wanted to end with him on the court.
    We also didn't take Dwight Howard when we could've...
    Anyways, props to the Celtics. They've been on the brink of winning it all and just might finally do it this year.

    The Bucks have the stars, shooting, interior scoring, and potential on defense. Championship teams usually have an outstanding "glue guy" to bring it all together. The Bucks don't have anyone like that. They also don't really have anyone who moves the ball and sets up plays particularly well, either. That's usually death in the playoffs as the game slows down and half court offense becomes more important. If healthy, Giannis can put this team on his back and drag them to the Finals. He's done it before. But it seems highly unlikely. That team was maybe less talented, but the balance was extraordinary. @@danielthompson3928 I mean every player on Boston can probably force Dame to take tough shots , I didn't plan on him scoring much he will just need to hit big shots to try and draw as much attention as he can.
      I haven't watched many Boston games and AL was out like all I watched , he is still going to be able to last a series? Or he hasn't lost a step? If not then if he can play heavy minutes then Giannis will still get his but it will be tough.
      I really think because Tatum and Brown will get there's , Giannis will as well and everything said it's going to come down to If AL plays better or Lopez , I do not know why but I think Porzingis is going to be a non factor basically. I think there is a legit chance but as I said I haven't watched many games but what you said is a solid plan with Boston having just more overall.

    It literally doesn’t matter how well they do now. The lower the stakes, the better Doc is, and historically, he’s good up to the 2nd round and 3-0. His problem has always been his terrible performance as stakes get lighter. Giving his flowers now is just wasting time because we’ve already known he’s good when it doesn’t matter.
