Tim Legler is 0 toxicity and tries to be 100% unbiased and fair. My favourite analyst
Not protecting relationships or anything just pure facts and passion
And the guy actually watches every single game every day. Listen to him is great
He did call Caitlin Clark one of his top five ALL TIME players to watch. Not sure if I buy that or espn pushed that into his lips.
@@willzsportscards i think she just for the fact they she could possibly change the landscape of the wnba
Love Legler as an analyst but he def has biases like every person ever. To say “No matter what LeBron does he can’t pass MJ as #1 GOAT he will always be #2” is the definition of biased.
By the way I’m in my 40s and been going to MANY games yearly since 1987 (pops great seats season tickets center court row 9/11/13 since Reggie Miller’s rookie year 87-88 while my mom who is from Chicago has had great seats in her fam for Bulls since 84 MJ’s rookie year).
I’ve seen MJ 51x live and LeBron 54x live! They’re BOTH Mount Rushmore ATHLETES imo! Both aliens and my CoGOAT. They’re by far the 2 best players I’ve seen live 10+ or studied (and I’m a student of the game + NBA/ABA history). Anyone acting like it’s not debatable either way of who is number 1 or number 2 is biased as both have great arguments and there are so many variables/uncontrollables that make it impossible to say for sure.
IMO
LeBron > MJ teen to 20
MJ > Bron 21-30
Bron > MJ 31-39+
MJ 87-88 to 92-93 > 7yr peak then LeBron but Bron 08-09 to 19-20 greater 13yr peak.
91-98 MJ vs 12-20 LeBron in playoffs very close analytically (WS/48 PER BPM VORP etc) just like 88-98 playoffs vs 2009-20 playoffs.
Imho BOTH MJ & LeBron are Mount Rushmore ATHLETES in any sport or at worst both Top5-10 somewhere!
The Tim Legler episodes are the best, great chemistry with JJ and fun listening to them talk basketball
All NBA is always first on my queue.
JJ already feels cooler than Tim so he doesnt feel the need to act cool, he chills and talks hoops
@@loganwagler7997 thats actually a really good point. jj is kind of annoying sometimes when he has players on, he seems a lot more chill when sitting with legs
They’re gay together didn’t you hear?

Get that BMW money JJ!!

We just got to hope he pays his staff fairly @@gnomechomsky2524

He does have some pretty decent calves
I am a simple man. I see Tim Legler, I hit the like button.
Always a pleasure to listen to him talking about basketball. Hope to see him even more over here!
He's Incredible. Gotta love the guy

Show some more love for MPJ.

Gonna enjoy these while they last, cuz JJ is gonna be an NBA coach within the next few years. 💔
I hope not, he would lose his sanity if he goes for coaching.
Zero chance. Media is more fun and pays better.
There was a rumor Hornests showd intrest in him.
@@HawgJawn he’s already had interviews the last two years and said on this podcast that he’d do it
Him and Legs would make a great combo lol
Tim Legler is starting to understand why the Minnesota fans really love ANT. First superstar that has no ego. Off shooting night, what does ANT do? Lock in on defense, make the right pass for 8 assists, loves to highlight the success of his teammates before anything, cheers hard on the bench. When your appointed superstar leader is a superstar in being all about team and only caring about the final score, sky is the limit for that team. I wish i was on that guy's team.
First Superstar with no Ego? Have you heard of 5 time Champion Tim Duncan?
@@kaianthony8077yeah but Tim Duncan didn’t have the energy that ant does. It’s a super rare combo to simultaneously have the confidence and bravado and showmanship and swag while having no ego about who’s cooking or how many points you average and supportive of teammate success.. Even Lebron is known for his passive aggressive shots at teammates. Ant doesn’t care, he wants to make it work with who’s there with him
My boy Ant Man definitely has an ego and I promise you that is not a bad thing. Kobe and MJ had huge egos and ant will probably be in that tier of SG’s by the time he retires. And this is coming from a suns fan who paid for league pass all season just to watch ant man because I’ve never enjoyed a players game more than his in my lifetime as a hoops fan. That game vs the Celtics early in the season when wolves won in OT was my favorite performance of any player this season when he put the clamps on Tatum and took over that gameb
@@zeus4885 A strong ego with discipline about how he lets the ego dictate his decisions. I'm not a fan of "alpha" mentality, but if I were to support that mindset I'd say Ant has it. A strong leader with self-awareness and trust in himself and above all those around him
No ego??? The dude literally said the other day that in two years he’s gonna be the best player in the league. If that’s not having an ego I don’t know what to tell you. Oh, just to be clear, I love that he has that ego. I think it’s awesome for the league.
JJ with new sponsor every episode 😂😂
Also if Jamal is not in All Star game next year, I'm boycotting the NBA
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ whoever pays the most :D
Unfortunately it'll be tough for him. There are so many great guards in West that are leaders on their team that always get the edge in all star voting.
Ja will be back next year too and I see him locking up a spot. Shai, Luka, Curry will likely all have slots too.
They need to expand the rosters, it'll be criminal to have an all time playoff performer not even make an all star team
SGA, Luka and Ant are probably sure bets for guard spots. And you still have Booker, Steph, Kyrie, Fox and Ja as more likely candidates for an All-Star spot than Jamal, because so far in their careers they have been way more productive than him in the regular season.
It's amazing how this guy can turn into a top 15-20 player in the league instantly in the playoffs. It also shows how Jokic allows his team to flourish around him, while still being able to take over games when needed to (like the Game 2 third quarter.)
He don’t do enough during the regular season to get it he nice af but Murray don’t become Jamal Murray until playoffs
JJ’s content on YT has totally changed the way I watch basketball…
I was never a huge fan of the NBA but after watching along with this channel the last month , I’ve found myself totally engaged in playoff basketball…
Tim Legler was an assassin from 3. Loved his days in Washington
Never did I think I’d enjoy Leggs so much. Months ago I used to think he was bad (out of ignorance) but now he’s one of the top dudes I wanna hear from. And JJ has surprised me since I first started hearing from him. Amazing bball content.
Definitely the most beloved Knicks team since Pat Riley era. No nonsense, just hard work.
We NEED JJ & Legs ATLEAST ONCE a week in the regular season !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tim Legler is a great guy! Love his love for the game and he is a basketball savant! He also gives the Nuggets love on National TV which they've been deserving! Great stuff JJ, Tommy, and Tim
Yeah I thought Ant had a mature game. Not shooting well so he created open buckets - 8 assists and more hockey assists. Still put in effort to defend - great ball pressure, 3 steals, 1 block. Did a great job in passing out of doubles and making the simple reads when blitzed. Didn’t force anything, just shifted his role to still impact winning
Love the show, but kinda disappointed that there is no NBA content left without betting ads, this is a dangerous development man
Embiid’s style of play is probably too dynamic for his body type. Wemby plays guard-like but the man does a ton of mobility strengthening with a lighter frame. I can’t imagine how taxing it is to move in an explosive manner for a big.
YESS I was waiting so much for this. JJ with Tim two of the best analysts in the game.
No magic / cavs? Smdh. How can you ignore this riveting series.
Minnesota fans FEED on good defensive execution. Energy in Target Center has been unreal and its due to the heart and hustle of our top 7 guys.
shup
If you end up being HC for Hornets pls don’t stop doing the podcasts!
Dude has a family - he can't be living the Stephen A lifestyle day in and day out. I love the podcast, but it makes sense for it to end when he's coaching, especially his first year.
He always says a major factpr in his retiring from the league is his not being able to spend time with his family. Coaching will consume as much or more time.
I selfishly hope je at least doesn’t go to the hornets if he’s to end the podcast unserious franchise, at least hope he goes to some type of contender. Him over Doc for the Bucks would feed families 😂
"Nah man, sometimes you gotta get real!"

Yea. Legs and JJ duo pod is what the world needed. 🙌
Tim Legler is one of the best
JJ, love what you re doing with LBJ, “mind the game”. Super insightful. However, the nerdy basketball talk started with Legler and I can’t wait to see you dissect basketball, matchups, def coverages.
Really enjoy the basketball dialogue between you two.
Love every episode with Legs! You guys have a great back n forth 🙂↕️
Legler was really a NBA player. That's why dude knows so much
As always it was a pleasure to see the great Tim Legler. Best analyst out there by a mile.
Im rather new to this podcast but now you're my go-to guy when it comes to the basketball and true knowledge of what's going on here. Love and respect JJ
Tim is so good on these
I appreciate you for the time stamps
Future Charlotte hornets coach J.J Redick
He wouldn’t have any time for the pods so I hope not but he would be a good head coach at some point
That would be a major mistake 😂
JJ DONT DO IT
You have to wait for a team like the Thunder or Spurs. A team that already has a MVP-level young talent.
Only if he can bring in Legs and The Dunker Spot on staff.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
JJ lookin like a MyPlayer default fit in this episode haha
Said that he didn't want to talk about celtics series cause he didn't want to be blindsided or unaware of what happened in game 2. Great call in hindsight😂😂
Tim Leglar would be a incredible commentator in my opinion .
If one day he can call NBA playoffs games it would be amazing 🙏
I really enjoyed the Mavs vs Clippers segment 👍 thanks!!
The thing about Lebron missing that last 3, is that because Denver's offense was so crazy during the 4th quarter, he almost couldn't afford to miss. It happened to be the last shot that was the miss, but it could've been any of them. The Nuggets run meant the Lakers had to score on every single possession down the stretch
Tim Legler is seriously the most impressive analyst.
Watching Legs breakdown the Mavs after seeing game 3..this man is a basketball genius!
Finally! Been waiting on you two…
Having Tim on these is such a blessing to those of us who want real hoop analysis. You both do a fantastic job
Mavs clippers talk felt like 90 percent mavs 10 percent clips
Legler episodes are always some of my favorites. Great video as always jj
No OKC?
Not that much to say about OKC - 1 seed going up against an 8 seed without their best player. Not discounting their wins but just not as interesting of discussion compared to the others series’s
He talked about it last podcast episode I’m assuming this was recorded before game 2 of OKC
@@basedboi3956 But everyone was saying we were to young and inexperienced.. the amount of people I saw pick NOLA was terrifying lol.
I can listen to Mr.legler all day, bro was born to be an analyst, goat status, if you're looking for a GM legler is the guy
Hartenstein and Jokic just don't have bad games - GOATS
Love it everytime legs is on the show
Tim is such a pleasure to listen to. Just talking straight facts.
if I'm the knicks, im doing two things. The first is having JB shoot over OG to get himself prepared for shooting over big wings, and NOBODY on that sixers team is as good defensively as OG is. Second, The Knicks depend so much on the high screen and roll, and while its been effective, its been predictable and they have to find a way to free up Brunson into single coverage, especially on the weak side where he's so effective. I want to see them for some stretches in the game, have Brunson or Deuce or whoever is handling the ball run pick and pops with Bogey and give Bogey some more looks from three point range.
I really think that what people call "out of shape" about Luka is by design because he's shown in his rookie season that he can be slimmer and more athletic if he wants to. I think (smilarly to Jokic in a way) the extra weights allows him to play more bully ball in the high post
extra weight is going to be hard on his joints down the road, especially because he became a pro so early in life
Wow I didn’t think I’d watch the entire video all the way through 🔥🔥
Tim Legler is the man 🙌🏾
Wooooow were up to 6 minutes now, way to go JJ on covering the small market teams😂😂
People saying that “this reminds me of the 90s” is because most of the games on national TV back then were playoff games.
Ain’t no way JJ got that BMW sponsor. Get paid babyyyy 💰
I love how they pedal gambling for two minutes, then proceed to be like, “got a gambling problem?” 😂
facts it's kinda strange for sure
It's actually quite simple. They do the same for alcohol ad pictures
Just like selling junk but caution if you have an addiction it might be harmful.
Absolutely LOVE when Legs give us insight. Get him on an episode of Mind The Game too!
My 2 fav NBA guys on one show... nice
gafford has been rough but lively has looked pretty solid and fantastic for a rookie center in the playoffs so didn't really get that, offensively sure he only had 7 in game 2 but defensively he was great and his vertical spacing has still be helpful in the PNR to generate looks even if he hasnt personally capitalized on many of them
AD is an AMAZING magician! He makes himself disappear every 4th quarter vs Denver
Wow. That's cool. That's amazing. I didn't think nobody. What's a better magician than Lebron? He disappears immediately after every single game. While this team is shaking, the other team's hands
Last time I was this early I got it in my eye
Bro no diddy

im not worried about hartenstein. he wants to be a knick and they will take care of him. especially as you said, they have his birdrights. Leon is business savvy and he knows that hartenstein is a keypiece, that we need. im not worried at all
love legler but we need you two and rj!!! get that baldy on these eps 🤣
Legs is one of my fav analysts
Legler and JJ are the best analyst duo
Lively was good in game 2. His stats don't pop off the page but he was making a positive impact. 9 rebounds in 21 minutes
Yeah lively hasn't been bad, Gafford has disappeared
Love these two talking basketball.
JJ with the Bimmer sponsors😮😮
Tim and JJ goat combo
Legs is always awesome, and Alternate routes looks very interesting.
Very tired of all these damn gambling ads, guess everyone has a price
Cry
The convo before the Suns/Wolves segment😂😂😂
pls stop accepting gambling ads. all they do is ruin lives.
big facts i love this show and everyone’s perspectives but gambling ads are so lame bruh
Plenty of people gamble without it being a problem if you can’t control yourself and what you spend your money on don’t download the apps it’s that simple there’s no need for him to cancel his ad which he makes money of off just because YOU out of however many can’t control themselves when gambling
please! and im so tired of seeing them while i watch my games. i really dont like that they can partner with our leagues.
Blah blah blah just stop gambling if u suck at it
Jontay porters burner
Had to add to the rest of the comments here - legler is one of my fav NBA analysts, if not my favourite.
"... to then become an elite podcaster..." lol that was awesome!
Tim is the GOAT analyst for the NBA. You cannot tell me otherwise. He is so unbiased and just says the truth about all teams.
JJ + Legs makes for the best basketball show on the planet, hands down
I completely somehow disagree with Tim on his Mavs Clippers series. I thought most shots were difficult shots on both sides, and both teams played VERY good defense which made the game low-scoring, and not great players missing open shots. If you REALLY watch the game, it is obvious how physicality influences efficiency on so many levels. It is all about defense and 8 point lead is what 25 point lead is in regular season. Love this type of basketball.
Yea Brunson hartenstein and Donte all been on the best players in the nba list and this last month Brunson was number 1 … OG prob woulda been on it if healthy and same with Robinson and hart would even be on it if his shot was better but those 3 were on the list for most of the year
These two are pointing out something that people who just look at ppg in regular season for mvp discussion don't get- Jokic could score a lot more, but he is always building up his teammates and preparing them to make big shots down the line.
He could average 30+ ppg, but that doesn't get his team ready to win.
In the 4th last game, once Murray got hot, Jokic made him shoot and showed great confidence. Jokic wasn't trying to get open- he's always giving his guys confidence.
Love Legler! ...my favorite basketball mind.
I'm tired of this Embiid finally has a teammate nonsense. He played with prime (back then top 25 player Ben Simmons), Butler, Covington, Tobias, JJ etc. - never done anything. Why are people doing this - he's a playoff flop, probably bigger then CP3/Harden...
Nuggets will 3 peat, I said it the day after they won last year. They make ZERO mistakes in the last 5 minutes. As a Celtics fan, I just hope to make the finals and give them a challenge.
Tim Legler is a great guest.
Awesome pod. The Clippers will show they're the better team in that series but awesome and entertaining analysis/perspective on every series, thanks for the good watch.
JJ, I can answer your "why" on Jamal Murray.... Jamal raises his game in the Playoff, because THAT is when he is finally getting healthy. He often starts seasons coming back from injury... or gets injured during the season, and he works his way back to healthy by the end of the season.
I work from home and have sports podcasts/talkshows on all day. I haven't heard a single person talk about the Cavs since the playoffs have started. 😠😧
Tryk the hoops collective. They have a MAVS and cavs corner
I'm not a fan of betting in sports, it should go against everything sport is about...
Please explain .
Props to leggler for realizing he’s been somewhat of a hater of the wolves this season. They’re good and getting better every game. Bout time
Suns in 6 or 7 no injuries
@@YusufRawlinson but they already have injuries so 🤷♂️
@@ddnc1983 who? The only injury they have on the report is Damion Lee out and Grayson Allen game time decision. Let’s get back to the point suns in 6 or 7 no injuries, if you wanna really break it down no major injuries but I figured that’s common sense and I gave you the benefit of the doubt of basic understanding of basketball injuries
@@YusufRawlinson you’re entitled to your opinion. Did you see Grayson Allen turn his ankle? Game time decision seems pretty generous, but for the sake of the argument let’s say he plays. As a basketball fan, what about the last two games makes you think the Suns are going to win the next 4 straight games? They looked lost. Tim Legler and Brian Windhorst are Basketball Machines
What needs to also be pointed out is that in the first 2 1/2 quarters, Denver was missing wide open looks and the Lakers were making tough contested looks. You can't expect either of those to continue indefinitely.
