Kamath, Have every heard of any invention/app from IITs since inception in 1960s after spending thousands of crores every year? Plz pay attention to something that should be intriguing - why IITs, AIIMS, IIMs, etc have a Federal Law? Till 1950s Indian universities like Mysore, Madras, Osmania, Pune, Calcutta, etc were top but once these IITs, AITEC, UGC etc was created thru law post independence, they all lost autonomy while Union govt gave full autonomy to IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, etc. Across India, Creativity, innovation etc was killed in one shot. By pumping funds with "tough" exams, elevate {fakely) IITs, etc to "world class" & rest designate as "local" pathetic colleges. Funnily local college engineers have to write same GATE exams by IITs without enjoying autonomy that of IITs! Why state Universities & colleges not given same autonomy? Why IITs, IIMs, etc cant compete on equal basis?

This topic is so important, especially for our country which is at an inflection point. India is currently in a sweet spot in terms of geopolitics, demographics, political stability etc. But for India to achieve its potential, we desperately need to get our education system right.
The discussion started well but then I don't know which tangent it took, I couldn't understand the relevance of what was being said, especially by Ronnie. Nikhil, your USP is that even though you are a self-made Billionaire, a common person can relate to you because of you seem grounded and have not forgotten how 99.9% of Indians live.. please don't let these discussions become a pontification session by fellow billionaires. I assume the objective of making these videos is to share knowledge and spread awareness. It would have been such a value add to us if the discussion would have been around A) Issues- how our current system is Rote based, how we lay emphasis on marks rather than learning, how our curriculum doesn't help us develop analytical skills etc. B) Solutions - how can we use technology to democratize learning, where people dont have to rely on CBSE/ICSE/NCERT textbooks for real learning. How using technology we can usher in a revolution just like Mr. Nilekani's team did with Aadhaar, UPI, OCEN.. How we can create modules on AI/ML/AR/VR/Blockchain which will be available at low cost and accredited and accepted by all reputed institutions in India. That is the need of the hour for aspiring engineers who are still made to read about CD-ROMs and floppy disks.

We are attacking the sanctity of competitive exams, we are pretending that everyone is capable of being good at a particular job/system and selling it. There maybe problems with the system but everyone (100%) of the people in our world will not reach their full potential, the idea that they can reach their potential is where edtech earns their money.

Why does a coder need to learn physics ? Or a doctor, geography ? People can learn more without the help of textbooks. We are seriously undervalueing the role of technology in shaping a human academically and knowledge wise. Most students dont possess any real knowledge of the subject and the ones that do have knowledge know it up to what is there in the textbook. Bookish knowledge with which their skills are neutered. Competitive exams are extremely parochial and are used to curtail the true capabilities of a student

All are discussing education and educating . but what are we educating . human mind . for what are we educating it ? that is very the schooling parts comes in . If we step back and ask why are we educating a human mind , the answer is civilisational upgrade . now it is going to be a trend depend on what set of problems the civilisation and its cultural denomination is working on . The Broader and simple solution to all forms of education is How can we train the brain to Learn and adapt quickly . My Answer to the whole Debate is this , Train the brain necessary fundamentals to all forms of learning , funnel education as system to certain goals and let the educated mind join a conformist institute to reach the goal .

In the current era of rapid changes, many driven by tech, what one learns in school becomes obsolete very quickly, even at top schools. The ability to learn and apply that quickly becomes key to success. That is one major reason why India will succeed in coming future. Because most other national citizens want to apply what they learned and do not want to radically shift their careers. So in a way, not learning much at school is beneficial in current environment.

How many students get first in class (in a class of 52) ? A competitive spirit that punctuates false morality and false discipline in the guise of shaping a student becomes the pernicious direction- maker. CZcamsrs have freedom and they have choice. Students dont have freedom in any aspect. They are forced to learn redundant content which is of no value in real life and are forced to rub shoulders with the debris of humanity. Teachers dont take any responsibility. If school taught us anything, it means that there will always be slaves and defenders of slavery. School doesnt teach us what fame is like in the real world or mental health for that matter so stop commenting using your mere fingers and start commenting with your soul

Unacademy , ceo principles are completely wrong and are manipulated …. The information provided by unacademy is by professionals and its there knowledge and skills . Unacademy is just a platform which earns money giving commissions to the contributors .. it created a system which will make money for the owners of the companies . Same as Byzus … this are just money making loop holes .. A person who is learning will always be learning from books , videos , many other informations etc .. you can’t hold or command a copyright right for them to make content…
