Everybody is different. Potential and success has different levels. Some settles for 10% despite having 100% potential to do great things. I have a family member who is actually smart, has great potential to reach many levels and despite his big qualification he settled for a low rung regular government job (not even a great one). I ask him why and he is simply says he just is okay with where he is. Looking at his life I began to understand that there are potentials in all of us to grow 10X, but despite having so many potentials to level up - which will bring big chang to his/her life, family life, community, society, county etc, there are just too many people who just settles for the bottom, live that regular life and die. Each of its own, but I think how amazing it would be if everybody in life should pursue to reach their fullest potential. Which will let to a more fulfilling life.

He has realized that the root of all insecurities could be related to death, which shows that he deeply thinks about human condition and emotion. One of the best part which i noticed from this whole video that i feel like "Aphasia", basically the conclusion is that, for an entrepreneurs money is the key & for an IAS the prestige is the key, but both mandates have a fear as well as limitations.
Likewise, as a IAS you can't afford a expensive things or financial security (Comes with the honest service part), and as an entrepreneur you won't get recognition unless & until your startup won't get SDIT.
and the most liked part is: for entrepreneur exit is difficult and for IAS entry is difficult.

7:09 But even if you are spending 5 to 10 percent of your salary IAS will not have to worry about House rent, vehicle maintenance, petrol price, electricity rent, cost to house help, cost of furniture and other home appliances, cost of laptop, cost of mobile, cost of wifi, cost of mobile recharge, cost of clothes, as all these will be provided by the government for free so accordingly the cost of 59500 is a quite substantial number to live a comfortable life.

Yes but that's probably in a small village. Let's say I get cadre that includes Bihar. I won't be staying in Patna ( the capital city ) always. The entire family has to adjust in the far flung district. On top of that the average transfer of ias /ips is 2 years sometimes even 6 months so obviously your family has to adjust accordingly. By the time your son / daughter goes from 1st Std to 10th Std he /she has already changed atleast 5 schools ( unless they are in a boarding school) plus your spouse also has to be understanding sacrificing his/her careers. Officers don't have weekends so forget about vacations too ( perhaps once in 2 years). I think the position is too overrated. It's a service and people should not go behind it for any sort of personal satisfaction or else you will be disappointed

Nothing is perfect. Both, the public sector and entrepreneurship, have upsides and downsides. The only thing that matters is inner satisfaction. Happiness and sadness are temporary, but satisfaction is permanent.

Entrepreneurship is a different level game, it cannot be compared to any job. Entrepreneurs take a lot of risk and stress to make big changes and create an impact.
On the other hand, people come to government jobs to exercise power and reduce uncertainty.
If any successful small entrepreneur can be compared to a government officials, it should at least be compared to a successful and honest secretary.
