Aamir Khan's 3 idiots was a superhit movie back then in 2009. We all loved it, but it seems that the message is still not implemented. Because even today in 2022, the pressure on students to pursue stereotypical degrees like engineering, doctor, etc. is real. A kid has to convince his parents to allow him to do something like becoming a CZcamsr, Graphic Designer, Video Editor, etc. But why the situation is like this? Why do we have such strong stereotypes? The truth is it doesn’t matter if you make a videos on this . Indian Parents or Strict parents from any country won’t change . They suppress our thoughts and humiliate our thoughts and make us to doubt ourselves . If we went on arguing, They say I will leave you and god will also not be with you , all type of bad luck comes to you . They blackmail us in these ways . There is no solution for this . Tbh don’t take me rude but , this problem ends only when their generation ends because their whole generation grown up in those situations. @@alfabeta6817 education is not overrated. Formal education is. Those people you are talking about, most of them read hundreds of books from different countries. That's how they enrich their knowledge. If you were to come upon Ab Lincoln I don't think even a graduate will be way smarter than him except in things that came after Lincoln died. Lincoln was a great speaker and writer and he wasn't too dissimilar to a current top employee of a fortune 500 company or any other persons who succeeded because of their formal education. All this is to say that you can't just become Lincoln or even Elon Musk by quitting your school/ College. You have to take the next step that they took too and make it so that you not only don't lack behind people who are more formally educated but you lead those very people. By the way I just remembered that Lincoln was an advocate so you can't call him uneducated can you?

I opted PCM and Wanted to do online prp , but my parents wanted to go offline but later they let me choose online course and I'm doing well there.
Before that , in 11th I was exploring digital marketing and they allowed me to give time in it and i earned my first wages working online (440 rupees 😅 ) but later I continued to focus on my studies and now that's what I'm doing now .

Hehe; he's making quite a few mistakes at that rate. He keeps pronouncing फ (pha) as फ़ (fa), keeps saying "impact" when he means _effect,_ etc. But one step at a time, I guess.

Being in a private engineering college I can see the false reality and dreams being created here every day but still don't know how to escape it.Knowimg the problem and still not being able to solve it feels like hell.Emotional and mental trauma gets created in the Head leading to self doubt and regret..... what I think is not just relying on parents and education system we should -
1. take personal responsibility to learn new things and not just relying on books. movies, travelling, personal life experience can teach us a lot.
2. use social media as a great tool to learn about new and exciting things - such as career options, current affairs, geopolitics etc
3. right after college/during college leaving our hometown and living on our own. discovering our personal interests and passion and ultimately doing things which we love.

That parenting part hit me hard. My parents refuse to listen to my ambitions and are authoritative, especially my dad and what's more, they break all their promises even after I did what they wanted me to do. I was physically punished till my late teens which took a big toll on my confidence and decision-making abilities. I'll end this here cause I'll have to write a whole essay on this to explain everything.
Ask them if they value your life more than their dreams. That'll get them thinking straight.

We had a career counselling workshop in our school. For Humanities students the only career that was suggested was Law, and clearing CLAT.
Needless to say that we, the students, could think of a hundred more careers than Law.
So true. I just gave my 10th ICSE boards this year and whenever someone asks me about my chosen stream I have to add "CLAT for Law" after I say humanities because I know they will judge me if I don't say that. So shameful of the society.

I used to hate studying history and geography back in school, and now as a grown adult at 28, I am fascinated with both the subjects and read and collect articles, and remember facts too. Looking back I realise how terribly teachers, especially history, used to teach subjects at school, they used to tell "this is the syllabus, these are the chapters, I'll give you notes, now learn everything line by line". No wonder so many students finds subjects boring or difficult to learn when taught in a horrible manner.

Appreciate this work, brother. I'm a content writer, and I'm earning lakhs today as a freelancer. As you spoke above teaching putting down students, I remembered my History teacher insulting me in front of the whole class.
I had put months of effort into a project, pulling cutouts from everywhere. But my teacher didn't believe it, he told the class, I was stupid and not good enough to make the project.
He told everyone my mother made it for me, and it's 15 years since the incident, but I still remember my efforts not being acknowledged.
Today, clients from overseas and locally praise me for the projects I do for them, and they haven't even met me.
For the longest time, I saw myself as a victim, but with small support from clients with who I haven't even shaken hands, I believe in myself more than any person in any stable job, cause I know I am capable to support myself at any time, even in recession when they can't.
