Almost have adopted 15 dogs and run a shelter, Sterilizing my area dogs.
This is such a courageous step I took last year I was just 17 and still going on my own.

I was once chased by a stary dog, when I told my neighbours they were making fun of me, telling me that you might have been running and because of that he chased me but I was just passing by. Over all they were all blaming me 🙄. Thank you Dhruv for raising this issue. It's high time now, the government should take actions and resolute this issue ASAP

I haven't had a good relationship with dogs since I was a child. Whenever I would go out alone to buy some things, I would get hurt because of the dog. And at noon my area was more empty so more dogs would chase. These childhood incidents are still frightening

Thank you for recognising the need for sterilisation and adoption rather than mindless killing. We need to join together with shelters and animal welfare organizations to drive sterilisations rather than fighting with them pushing for animal cruelty.
No a lot of them need killing. Those who are rabid dogs need to die for their own good and people's good.

Also, Literally 5 days ago a 7year girl child was bitten on elbow by foreign breed Pet dog, and had to go take a plastic surgery as her bone was visible so deep and big injury was. The people making laws have lost touch with reality, there should be severe punishment for people who can't manage there dogs. A good start would ban from owning pets and severe fine which goes to help the victim.
I have seriously come to hate Pet owners and Activist, in recent years, because they are seriously stopping Governments from doing anything, and causing mass suffering in the Soceity towards the dogs as well as Humans. And take zero responsibility for the harm they cause others.

There should not be any ban on owning pet but instead, we can put restrictions on pet owners, like compulsory vaccination, open defecation of dogs on roads and other places can be prohibited

Some of my points :
1. Most of the street dogs are malnourished, most of their food sources are dustbins and 2-3 days old roti joh koi de deta hai.
2. A lot of puppies die, a malnourished mother can't feed 16 pups most of them starve to death (I have even seen pups eating other pups just to survive and I can bet you have too)
3. A lot of kids bring stray dogs puppies home 'cause puppies are cute. Give them food & shelter and after 2-3 week when the puppy start growing they are not so cute anymore and abandone them somewhere far away to die.

Rabies can also spread by a Human being to another Human being. Any being, which is a warm blooded being can spread rabies, , so why only blame dogs?
Every year almost 30,000 people are Murdered and almost 60,000 people are attempted murdered by other humans in India.
Every year almost 50,000 dogs are murdered by humans in India.
Compared to humans killing humans and humans killing dogs, the dogs attacking humans can be counted on fingers. Then why demonize dogs, when many humans are much worse than them? Firstly, humans took over the lands of animals and now blame the poor animals, how convenient.
A possible solution is concentration camps for dogs or just feed them food with poison and problem gone forever.......simple log zada hi sochte hai

Namaste from Ludhiana Punjab ❤ Dear Dhruv Rathee I had 1 accident 1.5 year before. I was going to bring milk 🍼 near my house by walk. 5 stray dogs attacked me and I fell down. My hip bone 🦴 fracture d. I could not stand,few people came and took me to hospital. I had surgery. Now my right leg 🦵 have shorten by 1 inch I can't move properly by now. Few years back I visited Dubai for 6 days. I didn't see any stray dog there. My case was printed in local newspaper but nothing was done. I am 69 years old now. It's very serious in India. It's very enjoyable beautiful interesting video of stray dogs. Love 💕 Regards !

As a rescuer & parent to 150 Indian rescued dogs, here are my 2 cents.
1. People who owe pets don't want to sterilize them for moral, religious & ethical reasons. Cost is usually secondary.
2. While a small percentage of population is sympathetic to stray animals, majority are abusive & violent towards them. It makes dogs unnecessarily aggressive. A well fed dog has no purpose attacking people or wandering to other territories
3. Children are the most common victims because they tend to be excessively indulgent with stray dogs.
As to the solution.
1. Breeding & sale of dogs should be banned outright unless a specific breed is required for military, law enforcement or therapy purposes.
2. A separate, well funded trust shall be created with a mandate to sterilize all dogs & cats across India. Local Municipal corporations are underfunded, corrupt & incompetent for the task. Sterilization is typically accompanied by Vaccination. It costs less than Rs 1000 to sterilize & vaccinate a dog. Lesser if the govt puts its might behind it.
3. Feeding of stray dogs should be supported. Not only are they easier to catch to sterilize, they don't exhibit same level of aggression as a hungry & abused dog
People who advocate violent options, call them a menace or nuisance are part of the problem, not solution.

I'm from west India and our dog was sterilized and vaccinated under government schemes free of cost. We had adopted our dog from street and is living happily with us for around 5-6 years!!

Yes state government and many organisations always help in vaccination and sterilisation of dogs. But many people don't cooperate with them. And the biggest problem is people buy foreign breeds.
Its different tale here. We have to get them sterilised. Our cuvil bodies are corrupt to core and they embezel all the money allocated for sterilisation process. I did it twice and controlled population. But our cicic bodies shift non sterilise body in different area leading to more stray litter on street

My 5 year old son has been bitten by a stray dog it was very critical damage done by that dog but we still showed mercy towards that poor dog we kept him in a nice place vaccinated that dog and my son was also vaccinated and treatment was done in the hospital.. Actually many so called "pet lovers" in my city of Kolkata tell that dogs are not the culprit. Culprits are children who play and run which makes them think they're thieves. Of course not all stray dogs are the same but my personal opinion is that there should be some sort of step taken for that like some sort of self defence attacks or anything. "adopt, don't shop" hasn't yet caught up in India cuz people see owning a dog as a symbol of status and they would much rather spend lakhs on an illsuited pure breed than adopting a street puppy.
I have adopted a street puppy and have not received any good response from my neighbors who own a pure bred dog. They say that street dogs are aggressive and high maintenance. That couldn't be more far from the truth. My dog eats the same food as we do. He eats rice and sambar, dal, fruits or anything we eat. He doesn't e

I'm from a village. There are about 10 dogs in my house I'm living with them from my childhood. I never forget to feed them. People call me cheap and dumb. But i treat them like my friends I play with them even I know I have to bath after doing that. I love and respect dogs. Pls feed your surrounding dogs bcz my grandma generally says "dogs blessing makes you a successful person" 🥰

Get them vaccinated
Feeding stray dogs is one of the major reasons for their overpopulation. The balance should be always maintained. We think that Feeding dogs is a great job but it is not. I'm not against Feeding animals but it should be in a precised or limited way. You don't have any right to make wild animals dependent on you.

One stray dog adopted me and I adopted her .. she would come , run towards me from far away whenever she saw me .. she d follow me , coz she loves me so much , she d cry if I don't give her attention n love , I started feeding her and later slowly realised thr r other dogs who come to me and showered me so much love coz I feeded them once , they were weak , without food n water from many months but still loved me unconditionally, since then I never let a dog go without food that comes at my doorstep and sometimes if time allows I go n feed other strays nearby and that's gives me immense happiness that no other thing has given me in life .. ❤️
Some Months Ago Started Running at 6 in Morning, One Day I was Just Walking Out of Gully and Randomly 4 Dog Suddenly Started Chasing me ,They Almost Bit Me , But There Was Guy Who was There Saved Me🙂
Then I have to stop Running , Now I am just afraid to go running out because its not safe

Everyone talks about spaying and neutering the dogs, feeding them and loving them but nobody talks about their really aggressive living conditions and mental health conditions. The dog is a hunting animal. It was domesticated and trained to behave in a certain way. That doesn't mean that it has forgotten how to hunt a pray. I have noticed that most people who claim to have adopted dogs never really provide them with any safe house or a decent shelter. The dogs are given food, meds and occasional hugs. Its a bigger joke than putting them down and freeing them from the lifetime horrible and dangerous street life that they endure everyday of their lifetime.

1: People should be educated to be more compassionate with animals including stray dogs,
2: People should feed the strays in their area so that they do not have to 'hunt' for food, hungry dogs are more aggressive and unpredictable just as humans,
3: Sterlization drives should be taken up, People feeding strays should try to get them vaccinated and sterlized, If I could take care of 4 stray dogs like my babies I am pretty sure 2-3 households can collectively take care of a single stray dog, I normally see 1 person out of 30-50 houses taking care of strays, this is very unbalanced equation
4: People including children abusing stray animal should be punished/educated as per their maturity level
Simply criminalizing dogs for their aggressive behavior is more like cherry picking, Dogs too are part of society that help save the society from thefts and deceptive strangers...

I remember a small incident from past when I was trying to cross a road in Chandigarh city and few dogs started barking at me. They ran towards me and I think they were about to attack me but suddenly a bike stopped in front of them and I was saved.😇 They stopped barking but I turned back and crossed the road by taking a long route...😅
Same thing happened with me in Jaipur city at night around 4 A.M., when few dogs barked at me, but I avoided them and kept on walking. There were atleast 7 dogs, but I think most of them were trying to sleep.
Yea they are a huge problem. That is why dog shelters are a necessity in India today
The problem is most people don't walk normally while passing by them that's why they get suspicious and start barking.

Proud owner of a stray female dog ! 4 years back , my parents went for morning walk and found a cute puppy roadside , they brought her home . Now she is un-detachable part of our family . She is well behaved and fast learner just like any other foreign breed dog ! I just wanna say , Stray dogs are cute too !
But not every stray is adopted. So we need to round them up so that kids are safe.
@@ST-Vidz But majorly the street dogs who gets feeded by people are unagressive . There are 3 street dogs near my house , they are semi - dependent on us , we feed them and they aren't agressive to us or any kid in colony , infact they gaurd our colony from other dogs .

@@ST-Vidz First of all , we don't keeps domesticable animals on roads just because they are sacred or friends . They are there since years . From the very beginning , In our culture people used to keeps cows , dogs etc. in their backyards / farm fields . Unlike developed countries , due to immensely increase in population , decrease in area per individual , change in economical conditions of Indian households and worst failure in animal management from each and every level of our governance since independence we are seeing reality of animals lying on roads and streets .Developed countries had very different history than ours . You can't just blindly compare our India with your 1st class developed countries without contemplating on these conditions .
On a practical note , these conditions would get even worse if you and people like you will only 'scream' on social media platforms rather than taking result oriented actionable steps such as re-adoption of Indian dogs, cats / sending to kernels , sending cattle to cattle fields / dairy farms etc.
Also , as of now they are on streets and no-one is taking them to sheds / kernels we are feeding them . And I am no where saying that everyone have to feed , if one doesn't have enough for owns' consumption !

My neighbor’s young daughter died from rabies at the age of 6, because a street dog scratched her leg while she was playing outside her home. They didn’t even know it till she started showing signs of rabies, it is too late once rabies shows its signs. No treatment available. 🥺

Domestication is not possible in Indian society. I think the best way forward is to specify a place in every town, village, city where the dogs are fed regularly. Dogs usually roam around the places where they are fed regularly. It can help

I started adopting street dogs since my 8th grade. Now, it's been 4 years and, I am mother of 4 male dogs (Kannu, Chinku, Pinku, Kalu) and, 5 female dogs (Kalli, Chinky, Sherry and, Anky).
Trust me guys, it feels so good when you come back home after a long day at school and you see your kids waiting for you and the way they love you when you reach home gives you a hope, yk.

Yes , many people think neturing a pet is expensive. Yes , it is on the private clinic, but government hospital also offers neutering and it isn't expensive though. I did to my cat and it cost only 100 rupees fees to hospital, and total medicine+ others cost 1000 around and also there is a lot of NGO present in India , it cost 2200 only to sterelised. There is need of government veterinary hospital in each district.
My grandfather got bitten by a stray dog we suffer alot almost 6 months we suffered he is also a cancer survivor I hope government will do something about this problem of stray dogs in india
Until government does something, call NGO to Sterlize and Vaccinate them, feed .. because they don't bite people who feed them.

Construction of shelters in OPEN spaces by the government and opening a department for picking up dogs is must.
I don't say all dogs should be picked up. Solitary dogs of small breeds that are not aggressive to the regular people could be let to stay. But, they should also be vaccinated.
Also, it's necessary to open a special department for aggressive animals like oxen. They must be picked up and their owners must be fine for letting them loose.
It's not only for the sake of humans. Also animals will benefit from living the sanctuaries. They'll be able to collect their own food. We could derive food for them from the Organic waste. We may also vaccinate them and help those dogs that are diseased
