Classic Looks with Modern Drivability - 1978 F-Series Body Swap

- In this episode, we're reaching the thrilling conclusion of our epic project - the transfer of a 1978 F250 body onto a new Ram 2500 Chassis. Little did I know that this last step would turn out to be the most challenging part of the entire process!
The front clip of the F250 proved to be less sturdy than the other body pieces, which posed a unique set of challenges. But after a grueling 20 hours of hard work and determination, I'm proud to say that I finally got the front clip sitting perfectly on our Ram 2500 Chassis. When I threw the hood on and took a step back, I couldn't help but admire the incredible transformation we've achieved.
The body swap is so seamless that it almost looks like it rolled out of the factory this way. There are only minor cosmetic differences that you might overlook if you didn't know about the monumental task we've completed. The wheels extend just an inch or two beyond the fenders, the frame drops a few inches below the body but remains neatly tucked up, and the axles have shifted back in the wheel wells, achieving perfect alignment.
I'm beyond excited and astonished by what we've accomplished here. Taking on a project of this magnitude was a first for me, and it has boosted my confidence to explore even more daring ideas with this build. Thankfully, in the next video, we'll be moving on to our next task because I must admit, I'm pretty burnt out from the body/chassis swap!

Makes me think of how much time reality takes versus how much time people who watch YT videos “thinks it takes” 20 hours reduced down to 10:31 minutes. Keep chugging away as it is looking great.

It is a nothing right now lol! It will be a 12V Cummins with a ZF6 (manual) transmission...one day lol.

My progress has been super slow recently which is why I haven't uploaded in awhile. Vacation, fabbed parts not fitting exactly how I want them, was having trouble with welding (small leak in shielding gas), house projects, and well life! Trying to get the next video out in a few weeks!

Our old metal looks nicer, and seems to have made the trip to two thousand twenty three just fine. I see that Case tractor and Toyota have committed to going with hydrogen for our fuel of choice... good for us who use fuel instead of the push for electric plus way cheaper to drive making fuel companies bring prices down. Oh yeah, we will wind up with a gps mileage tax so the government can keep getting their unfair share of taxation. No reason for fuel to be over a dollar a gallon as I remember paying under twenty cents a gallon for fuel in the sixties. It was only a nickel a gallon for diesel at the bulk plant where we fueled the logging trucks at. rigs that only got a whopping two plus miles to the gallon were just fine. No I don't want a rig that you measure feet per gallon like some race car engines. I do like clean air just as much as the next guy and making hydrogen fuel at home is not so hard to do... making a quart of water go several hundred miles to the gallon. Out of the tailpipe comes oxygen and water... cool beans hu?! I did own and drive many ford trucks from the days when it was Just a F with no extra zeros on the tag. F1 through F3 was the numbers then and around the sixties I am guessing it changed to a few zeros to make it sound better I am just guessing. New subscriber now

All I can see is you can't stop progress. Progress isn't a straight line. Unfortunately, the cost of goods always increases. These last few years were a bit crazy though...

@@barnbuiltbeaters I’m kinda just playing, but what you have there is really a 2018 dodge 😁 parts for the Ford chassis are plentiful and cheap. My daily is a 60 f100 with a 1uz dumped right in with the a340 too. The whole Lexus costed me 500 bucks from a homeless woman.

@joetimmlv1 haha glad to get you stirred up! Huge improvement over the stock chassis in basically everyday. So might not be the best compared to Ford/GM but better than the original. Pros and cons to each manufacturer!
