    Maybe "see no evil" really does mean "destroy it so it no longer exists.... there, now we can't see it anymore" hahaha These look so great, I am enjoying your figures so so much.

    Hey Jen, You should paint the eyes out white - ritualy blinded and they are guided by the emperors voice in their ears in battle (then is canon to cover your 'see no evil, hear no evil')

    The models look great I love the conversion work you did on them. One little tip that might help with future projects is if you go to hobbie shops (usually model train stores) you can usually find these nice and super thin sheets of metal. They make great banners, flags, anything thin that you also want to hold a shape like it is blowing in the wind. This is just a tip and an idea for anyone interested but I mean it when I say I love your work and can't wait to see more :) .

    The "Crucifix symbol" is most likely a maltese cross, which has its roots in the Knights Hospitaller

    • @matthiuskoenig3378
      @matthiuskoenig3378 Před 2 lety +2

      common misconception, that is not a maltese cross (also known as the rhodian cross, or the 8-pointed cross), the Maltese Cross is defined as;
      "a cross of made from four straight lined pointed arrowheads, meeting at their points, with the ends of the arms consisting of indented 'v's". and comes from the Hospitallers in the 16th century (before that they used Cross fourchée and cross moline).
      these types of crosses would be a type of Cross pattée/cross formée/formée pattée (offten grouped as types of cross pattée), which orginate with the Teutonic order and knights Templar (they first used them about the same time, most historians think the Teutonic order used it first but we are not 100% sure)
      here is nice diagram of the various types of heraldic crosses www.lishfd.org/History/Clip_art/cross04.gif, wikipedia also has a nice article for basic understanding en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crosses_in_heraldry#:~:text=A%20number%20of%20cross%20symbols,the%20age%20of%20the%20Crusades.

    A tip from painting during the colder months, have a container/bucket with around 50°c warm water that you dunk the cans into for a moment before shaking and spraying. I use that method when painting nerf blasters in the colder months in Sweden. Just be careful not to have warmer water than your hands can handle.

    Hairline cracks? Plastic putty.
    Larger smooth gaps? Milliput.
    Large gaps that require texturing, or entirely new bits of sculpting? That's when you break out the green stuff. It's the most painful to work with, but it has its place.

    contrary to popular belief (and even the instructions!) spray cans are better if you hold them about 15-20cm from the model and spray in short passes starting and stopping the spray when it is not hitting the model if that makes sense. it works so much better than the 30cm distance that is often recommended

  • @The0Stroy

    Sense of proverb is more in line of "Don't look at evil stuff, don't listen to evil stuff, don't talk about evil stuff" in meaning to keep yourself pure. So "see no evil" like in "I see chaos demon. I gonna remove it from material plane so I will not see it anymore."

    I find greenstuff is too hard (or at least becomes too hard very quickly) for a lot of sculpting purposes. I recommend mixing the greenstuff and milliput in a 1:1 ratio to make 'grilliput', that way the putty stays softer for longer and (I find) is much easier to work with.
