What a great module so far. The flight model feels realistic. The plane has so much character. It's right on the cusp of old school and modern avionics. There are enough quarks to make learning the nuances worthwhile.
I would like to say that this little series took less than an hour for me to buy the plane and be on enigmas shooting down people and having fun👍Subscribed for that and thanks for making it easy to jump into this beautiful plane🙂
I'd recommend keeping an eye on Korana's upcoming series as well. I just don't have the time i need (or money) to be making in depth videos for all aircraft, they just take too long. Perhaps one day.
@DeusVult1527 To be fair, the tutorial missions (and the first campaign that basically is an extension of them) for the Mirage 2000 were absolute top notch on release, but they need to be updated.
Loving the F1 so far. Your tutorials have been invaluable! Since Aerges said that they would be willing to make more F1 variants after they finish the CE, EE, BE, and M, do you think an F1AZ would be worth it? It has a very proven and successful combat record, there is tons of data available online, and there are various examples on display in museums. In fact, Saffer F1 variants are some of the most easily accessible in terms of available info. Plus, it has the same Mk82 load as the F-15E! A dedicated ground attack variant would be great to have.
Personally, my favourite would be the Iraqi F1EQ-5/6, which is probably the most historically relevant and a variant that would fit on 2 of our maps. It can equip a targeting pod and self-designate laser guided weapons. It can also employ the AM39 Exocet anti-ship missile (though the Morrocan MF2000 ASTRAC can too).
Yes, when i heard about it i was convinced that can't be right. As nothing in DCS can detect that. But, after discussion with the programmers, and the SME came back telling us, yes it could detect TWS from Spanish hornets, so here we are!
@@RedKiteRender Well, truth is many systems were able to do that, because this are just algorhitms looking for specific pulse patterns, that's why it's particularly interesting since it would be the first time in DCS. DCS in this one field is extremally simplyfied ATM. ED stated they are working on way more sophisticated and realistic electronic warfare implementation, at least for slightly earlier modules i guess where systems are declassified. In modern birds EW suite has more lines of code then whole DCS, F-35 software was being made by an army of very best and most experienced coders and engineers for many years. But EW suite of i.e. Mirage F.1 or F-14 Tomcat can be recreated fairly accurately when ED manage to create overhauled EW API.
Quick question: how does the TWS lock warning work? From what I understand, TWS shouldn't actually look any different from a general search to an RWR, except for perhaps a slightly decreased interval between sweeps (due to a smaller scan area, but tweaking radar settings could produce the same interval in RWS). Am I missing something here? Does it have a file of TWS-capable opponents, and flag them as such (like the F-14 tomcat RWR with the special contact tone)?
It detects the extra energy vs a search sweep. So yes, it does have the ability to tell a hornet in search, switching to bugging you in tws. This is something i was doubtful at first too, but the SME has confirmed it worked. DCS appears to in general under represent the ability to detect tws.
I've been trying to use a separate livery every video, unfortunate it worked out that way! Yes, that is the F1ce the Spanish version, which is the version we can fly. If you look in the background of the re-arming menu shot 00:37 , you'll see true French F1s without the tail CM buckets.
@@RedKiteRender I typically drop either 3 or 6 flares... both not selectable here :D 3 would be 5 drops with the 50/50 loadout. They should add changing the setup via kneeboard though.
@@bowket5215 I have to believe Dassault knew what they were doing when they designed the system and there was a reason for the multi and program modes. Maybe it was a cheap add-on to satisfy the Spanish requirements or maybe they knew something we don't.

Would you please consider a tutorial series for the Mirage 2000. I refuse to learn a module from someone else. Thank you for your work so far.
Kortana is starting a series on 2k
The 2000C manual is the closest thing you'll ever find to perfection. You hardly need anything else.

For what seems like a pretty bare bones 1st gen rwr, being able to distinguish a threat using TWS is something.

It's one of those things DCS fails at a bit, I'm so ready for an EW overhaul and all the awesome things that would entail.
Just revisiting your F1 tuts... Would really love a tut series for the strike eagle from you @Redkite
A perfect representant of 3rd gen fighters. The RWR looks like something between MiG-21 and MiG-29.
Great video
Any thoughts on how you'll set the CMS on your sever?

That was the Spanish version of the Mirage F1 right?. It was odd because you avoided using the Spanish skin.

How do I sink a frigate
With big bombs. Not exactly the mission type of the F1CE. You'll have a hard time getting close enough.
The inabilty to change the countermeasure programs is going to be an issue with the multiplayer scene.
The flare multi/prog dispense rate is also totally inadequate for dcs. Best off going manual single i think.
