      The highlighting is great, but I'd totally celebrate if the individual switches were highlighted as well. In some cases I had to rewind like 10 times in order to find what he's talking about just because the DCS cursors are barely visible on a 24" display. But TBH I'd rather ED would just fix the size of those. They were double the size until DCS went 2.x and I'm having massive problems since.

    With the Mirage F1 almost out, and the F-4 coming, we have a pretty complete set of DCS flyable aircraft for the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war.
    F-5E, F-14, Huey, and the coming F-4E for the Iranian side
    Mirage F1, MiG-21, MiG-19, L-39, Gazelle, Mi-24 Hind, Mi-8 Hip, Su-25A were all used the Iraqis
    If we got a MiG-23, AH-1J, and a Su-22 flyable module, it would basically complete the combat aircraft set for the Iran-Iraq war.
    As it stands, I'm pretty sure there is no other historic conflict with a greater proportion of the participant air forces represented in DCS.
    Bit surprised no one has made a campaign for it yet.

    Best module developers in the DCS, just look at the love and passion they put to C-101 details and all. And personally I don't even care about trainers in DCS, but that C-101 is just something amazing.

    This aircraft is going to be a great addition to DCS. I am surprised that they've elected to overlook the IFF system - granted, probably due to lack of documentation. Most modules at least make a fair approximation of the IFF.

      @RedKiteRender  Před 2 lety +13

      The only aircraft to include a proper (if still not 100% simulated because Mode 4/6 is tricky) IFF system is the JF-17, a lot of jets have a simple interrogator but basically none of them have the transponder simulated in any meaningful way

    • @RedKiteRender

      @@paristo Didn't even know that since I try not to click it. 3rd Parties should totally adapt it if they haven't. And do the same with canopy emergency ejection things. Stopped counting how often I turned my Tomcat into a convertible in VR...

    • @paristo
      @paristo Před 2 lety +1

      @@CakePrincessCelestia IIRC it was the C-101 that first time had the stick hided with the clicking on it. But it might have been first ED that brought it to mirrors so you can disable/enable mirrors by clicking them.
      And then there were few others methods like clicking the throttle as well to hide it. I don't remember who did the ejection seat handle, but at least in Hornet and Viper the three clicks worked there.
      The NVG cases etc should be in all as part of the cockpit operations.
      Example in many fighters there are map cases or metal plates/pouches to have paper maps. That should be part of the clickable cockpit where you get the large paper map front of you in cockpit.
      Clicking the kneeboard on 3D pilot knee should bring the kneeboard nicely raised and hovering over your leg for better visibility.
      The data cartridge should already be the thing in every aircraft that has one, so you load the file from the game save directory where player can have multiple owns.
      And of course the kneeboard thing for all mission data, laser codes, frequencies + callnames, ordinance loadouts etc should be accessible from there for all planes. Automatically synced with the mission and existing units, JTAC codes etc.
      The clickable stick, throttle etc are just begin. Now we have the Mi-24P clickable fan to stop it etc.
      I really hope that in modules that has more features like a coming Kiowa Warrior that has M4 and Smoke Grenades on top of avionics, that you could click them and get them in use. Click the wanted color and you drop the smoke grenade in that position from the door.
      Click the M4 and you get character aim the gun out of the door and you can aim and shoot with it like a Huey co-pilot sight or Mi-8 door gunner. In VR you just look around and shoot, and Track IR same way, others having mouse etc possibilities too.
      This whole clickable thing is really one great way to improve experience, ease the learning and make access to things just better.

      @@RedKiteRender yeah a bunch of us on the cold war forums were looking into it, and based on what we found the concensus was no. But that actually isn't super unusual IFF interrogate in the late 60 and early 70s wasn't actually super common on fighter aircraft. GCI would just tell you beforehand

    Beautiful work on the visual of the interior cockpit, it feels realistic, but there would be some work to be done on the exterior look. It still looks to much as a "game". Before buying it, I would wait for the exterior to be very detailed and textured, not "soft" and "smooth" like now. But awesome work on everything else (totally love the hard breaking effect)
