Same. And same for the bedroom cabinet, the dining chairs, the patio furniture, the entryway cabinet… I guess that’s why Benita has a minimalism channel and I don’t. I have trouble letting go of anything. 🤣
Glad I wasn't the only one! I went off into a dream wondering if they'd be on eBay and how much they'd cost to ship to the UK, ignoring the fact that I don't have the space or the money for them ☺
Me too! 😂 I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I thought, there'll be room in the kitchen!! When you sat in it and spun around, I thought, you're definitely going to miss that!! 😁

I really appreciate how lovingly some (or many) of those beautiful pre-war buildings have been restored in Sweden. It's not always the case here in Riga, Latvia, where I live, but I hope that we're learning.

Looking forward to you sharing this next chapter of life with us here in the community. Although I practice a minimalist lifestyle, when I downsized into my current home it was interesting that I managed to have a lot of moving boxes in spite of the decluttering I did months prior and all the way up to the moving day! When having a smaller home, it really does challenge your creativity and makes you consider future purchases. 🙂
I will have considerably fewer boxes this time! I think I had 80 boxes two moves ago, 60 in my last move and it’ll be interesting to see how many I’ll have this time 😅

I can get distracted by nice new builds so it was important for me to get my period details or I would regret it so much 😬
On your recommendation I bought a Muista stool, and despite the long delivery time, it was worth waiting for. I am a fidgeter, and it's nice to rock, and be forced to sit up straighter. I combine mine with a rising desk, so I am either standing up, or rocking, and it's much better, as I also work from home. Exciting news for the move - sad to see your armchairs go, but how exciting for a new start! Good luck with the move. Best wishes from Cornwall UK

Congratulations! I look forward to seeing the new place. Moving for a minimalist is so much less of a big deal than for a typical person--you won't be moving giant boxes full of things you never use!

Now this is SO exciting for all of us .. I hope you understand that you are taking all of us with you to your new home ... If you have spare time .. Please could you do a video about ' LIGHTING '... What sort of lamps in which room and how much light .. The nordic homes appear to have very little lamp light unlike the Brits who go all out to have lamps and lights every where .. I am going crazy trying to decide which lights to buy ..Esp with these new LCD lights such as FERMOB ..So as you go shopping for all of your amazing new furniture .. Please look out for lighting and advice us along the way ..THANK YOU in advance of the move ..

I never thought those lovely chairs in the lounge area would go, but then time for change and what fits in.

There is a storage space in the basement but much smaller than the one I have now!

Hi I am fairly new to your channel but loving it! My issue is papers! Well actually growing up with over filled houses and knowing nothing else! ( Too much furniture, books, ornaments, plants, newspapers, books, photos!) But slowly I am getting there. The concept of a storage room in your apartment block is new to me here in Cornwall, UK. Will your new apartment have one in an older building? And a video of decluttering paperwork, magazines and clippings from magazines would be helpful to me.

You could make a living room out of the kitchen, I mean, you could make both in one room, especially, when the light is bright. It could be cosy there. And it is the biggest room.. 😊

Congratulations on selling your apartment and finding a new one! It’s so exiting! Looking at you new apartment’s floor plan, if I were you I would make the biggest room the kitchen+living room, the second biggest room the bedroom and the smallest room the home office.😊

I'm planning a huge international move right now and I'm wishing my list was as short as yours. I don't have a ton of stuff, but what I do have is precious, and I'm putting myself through the psychological wringer trying to work out if and how to take it all. It's hard to find the things I need where I'm going but the cost of the move is very high, so I need to cull. Congratulations on your new apartment. It's going to be a long couple of months waiting to see it.

I have bought a Muista chair after seeing it on your videos, and I really like that I can keep moving while seated! I kept my old office chair here because I thought I would feel like seating there once in a while, but never happened!

Dear Benita, I am so happy for you, the new place looks lovely. Can’t wait until you get yet your new furniture for the new place. I know lots of people are aghast at you selling so many things, but I know it is a good thing to do different decorating on your new move. I am so happy, as I am sure you are to be now closer to friends and family. I can’t wait for you to take us to the shops and points of interest in your new area, as you did with us in this home. I too am living minimal and always getting rid of things. I firmly believe after inheriting my parents home full to the rafters of furniture and objects, that I would never live that way. I find I don’t need a lot of materialistic things to live. Use what I have and buy when needed. All the best again to you and I have been a follower of yours for a very very long time and cannot wait for this new chapter in your life. A senior and big fan from Canada.

Benita, your upcoming move is so exciting! I can just envision your new place - even more beautiful than your current one. I love the new sofa you’ve chosen, and feel that it will set the tone for your new place. The catio will be great for your kitties. I live in a Toronto suburb, but we have a hawk and a fox living nearby, and cats are in constant danger. Lately, some greater Toronto areas have coyotes. City life is not what it used to be here, and a catio has become a necessity. Have a smooth move!

I’m kind of fascinated that there are so many who are more attached to my furniture than I am to be honest. I’m making the decision based on my new layout. Why would I bring things I will not need or that will not fit?

It's really beautiful ! As an interior designer, I would divide the kitchen with a sort of open separation to have two distinct spaces. Like vertical cleats or a glass wall that keep the natural light.

When I heard you say you chose a building pre 1930….I was happy to hear that you decided against your armchairs. Their styling would feel out of place in a heritage building. Looking forward to seeing how you incorporate your style into a heritage building.
I would totally put them in this 1912 apartment if there was room for them. Retro and historic can be a great combination!
