- In the final episode, Ulysses and his companions reach the Kingdom of Hades. They meet Orpheus, who seeks Ulysses' help to find his love, Eurydice, who has been taken to the Kingdom of Hades by Charon. Hades, the god of death, tells Ulysses that he must leave his companions behind if he wishes to return to Earth. He rejects the offer, which was a final test, and they all return home.
At 40 years old I finally get to watch the last episode.

Brilliant, I remember when this was on in the morning on a Sunday, nothing like the stuff kids get today, this and Jason and the wheeled warriors!!😎
Wasn't that found of Jason and the Wheeled warriors, it was an ok show but didn't not have the same oomph as Ulysses Thundercats He-Man Visionaries, D&D, still each to there own I suppose.

They got home. Thank God (sorry, The Gods). A near 30 year long burden has been lifted from me :D
this would make a bloody good movie, or at least deserves an updated series like they've done with thundercats
Yeah except ALL the reboots of Thundercats suck.
Same with every He Man reboot since the 90s.

The music and atmosphere of this series is visceral and melancholy. You either feel a sense of peril or sadness at any one time.

Yeah except in Dungeons and Dragons, as I recall they never did get back Home.
lol, i know right, but i was only little. i used to like thundercats the most, then there was he-man, and the turtles, jayce and the wheeled warriors, transformers, and shed loads of others. only a few of which are still ok now. If i had to pick any one of them to do as a remake series though, ulyses would defo be up there, dungeons and dragons defo wouldnt, unless they did an ep dedicated to killing that cat that said 'snarf'' all the bloody time

This t.v show kind of reminds me of one of those religious cartoons...I dunno why...maybe cause they keep referencing greek mythology.
the blue kid grew up to play the blue woman in avatar, she's right up herself now, wont even acknowledge ulyses anymore.

I actually like the intro to Dungeons and Dragons very much. But the actual episodes doesn't make sense and doesn't seem credible. One of the animated fantasy-series from this era I like the most is Conan the Adventurer. I think the episodes stay relatively close to what esoteric sources say about Earth's history. I did not watch any of these series as a kid, but I have discovered them and come to like them only in recent years (as an adult).
