Sorry to hear about your mum Chris, glad she contributed towards your love of cars though. Great video.
I'm also sorry to hear about Chris's mum, I can only image the type of woman she was to have inspired him.
Total respect for him, after only losing his mum a few days earlier.
Peter Lewis ii
Condolences Chris. What a great way to celebrate your mum.
I reckon she'd have been pretty proud of him :)
This is the Top Gear I want. More of this, please.
you are not alone in this world... we want more of this 🏆🏆🏆
Ditto, just let Chris and Rory do what they do, it was the obsession with celebrities that killed TG post Clarkson / May / Hammond (though I did like Matt LeB).
The autistic fanboys commenting with Jeremy Clarkson GIFs on every Top Gear FB post would disagree with you
I agree. I actually still subbed to TG because I love to make fun of their stupid new videos but this one actually amazingly well made and oozing love for Morris Mini. I want more of this kind of Top Gear.
570mattsch1981 Yes. No stupid stunts. Just a passion for great cars and driving, beautifully shot. Delivered with intelligence and subtle humour.
Sorry for your lost Chris. Thank you for keeping ChrisHarris cars video with Neil. I really like the look a feel you guys kept over the years, please keep them coming. 🙏
So sorry to hear about your mum, Chris. Hope you’re ok ♥️
I know Chris won't be watching the feed, but I'm sorry to hear about your mum. I lost my brother a couple of weeks ago, and he was a huge car enthusiast too. All the best matey
hope youre doing alright to mate, pistons and passion my friend
@@connordale2999 Cheers Connor
Sorry to hear about your brother
@@Aidan-LM02 Thanks matey. I appreciate the thought
So sorry... Keep it strong for him. .
For Chris's mum.
For my mum,
For mums everywhere, past, present and future.
Thank you.
My god, this is the most peaceful comment section I've seen in awhile
Because both haters and lovers of the new TG all agreed this is actually a well made video. This is what TG fans wants.
Condolences, Chris. But what a way to celebrate her life. That looked absolutely like a blast.
The way these Mini's corner is pure brilliance.
I have a 90bhp classic mini and an E30. Got both for pennies, restored them and tuned them. I'm 24 with those two beauties in my garage, life is good.
My condolences Chris, she sounded like a pretty awesome woman.
All my condolences Chris! And great video
The BBC should scrap TG and give Chris a show that he can create, his YT stuff is far better than what we see on the old fashioned box in the living room. Also, sincere condolences to you an your family on the passing of your mum, I am sure she is up on high and watching proudly.
I lost my dad back in 2006, he was instrumental in my love of vehicles and that love will never die. Us petrol heads always have a spark that ignites our passion for cars and yours seems to be enduring. You and Neil are doing an amazing job at conveying the emotion in an unfiltered way, keep carrying the keys my friend.
Favorite Journalist, in undoubtedly my favorite car of all time. I've been waiting for this to happen for years. Thank you so much to everyone involved!
Sorry to hear about your mum Chris, amazing way to pay tribute.
Chris harris IS the best journalist
I love these videos and glad that Chris is still producing content for the CZcams audience...people often equally as geeky when it comes to cars.
Well, it's the top Gear crew who does the production, let's give the right credits to the right people. But indeed cool that Chris is doing these items. Not sure when these items were recorded though.
@@djoetma Not really the TG crew but Chris Harris' older crew from the Chris Harris on Cars videos, Neil Carey is a legend
@@stefanpetrov8 Are you sure? Because you're saying they there are two teams working on this channel then? Also, production wise they've made a step then...
@@djoetma Look at the credits after the ending. It's literally Chris and Neil with two other people, that's it. This is basically the people from Chris Harris on Cars plus another person or two. It is Chris Harris on Cars just on a different channel. The Top Gear TV stuff uses a massive crew.
@@stefanpetrov8 You're right. Pretty cool that TG just took them and probably provided them with the means to up the production.
OMG, This is racing!! Drove my mum's 1974 mini when I passed my test & it was the best driving experience of my life!! God bless you & your mum Chris, may she forever be proud of your exploits!! 🙂
For me no one can drive/talk/write as well as Chris can. He's the benchmark of the new breed of car journalists/video-bloggers.
Love how Chris drives and throws Cars around, hopefully 1 day I'll make it to goodwood
my dad passed away a few weeks ago as well.. somehow seeing Chris saying this made me feel better
This is what Chris Harris is all about. It's why his you tube channel was so loved.. BBC pay attention... Top gear died with the departure of the original three. Just put Chris in a car an let him do what he does so naturally! Entertain people with his honest love for all things car related.
Died with the departure of the original three? Their last few seasons before their departure are CRAP! It's just unbearable to watch, and they still at it today with their Amazon Prime show. That ambulance challenge is by far the worst offender.
Make the program about cars again. Bring in Harry Metcalfe too.
ah, RIP Chris's Mum, strength bro, great film x
217bhp per ton which is the same as a 2015 VW golf R that's amazing 😂🥰🤤😱
And 1/2 the size! Amazing!
@@MrClimberdave Probably double the fun to drive :-)
It's also about the same as an E39 M5 too.
@@SLUGZGamingchannel with the agility of a house fly 😂
Condolences Chris, but please beg TG/BBC for this wonderful Chris Harris on Cars pieces become a part of the full show. These are true passionate car nut videos, beautifully shot without any TG 'Shakey Cam'
What an absolute joy to watch! So sorry to hear about your mum Chris. What a way to honour her memory though. Sure she will be so proud of her boy doing what he does best. Take care
Get in touch with Bad Obsession Motorsports and test drive Binky when its done!

@@punkbassist98 Ever the optimist, I see... 😉
WTF for, it will be time for Chris's retirement before that's finished.

This was pure class, thanks Chris. Sorry to hear about your mum. May she rest in peace.
I remember the Mini races in the 1970s at touring car weekends when I had to stand on a chair to see. Absolutely loved it.
This does remind me of the pick up l had in the late '70's . I bunged a 1300 out of a scrapper into it. With the smaller wheels it was a hoot ! Over took a friend on Shaldon bridge and he said he was doing 90! But overtaking a newish Triumph Stag up Telegraph Hill with an upright piano tied in the back and my wife holding our daughter in the passenger seat ! Something l will never forget ! Thanks Chris .
Condolences about your mom Chris. Great video, thank you, this is what Top Gear SHOULD be. Wish the execs would just let Chris do his thing and pick his co-hosts.
Rory is good when allowed to do interviews or journalism. LeBlanc ain't bad, but he's not passionate about it. The real problem is how they overproduce the show. Let them be natural.
May you rest in peace Mrs Harris. Behind every great man is a great woman who raised him. Thank you for gifting us such a gentleman 🙏❤
Chris: Imagine the entire F1 field doing a Mini race, before each F1 race. Like the old Pro!
This is the sort of stuff I'd like from Top Gear on the telly. I wish the BBC would hire more actual motoring journalists like Henry Catchpole to work alongside Harris.
Could you imagine if Chris Harris and Henry Catchpole teamed up to head Top Gear?? Ooft.
Add Jethro and you have the perfect cocktail.
The only new presenter I actually like. He seems like the only one who has a true passion for cars and that’s what top gear’s about.
I had a mini with a Mini Metro MG tuned 1275 that raced on Zandvoort . This is making my hart jump again.
I love the classic mini coopers.
Ohh dear I’m sorry to hear about your mom :c
Thank you Mr Harris and Mr Swift
A superb way to celebrate the life of your Mum Chris, she would be very proud!
Love that you have Elf/Hornet and Travellers dicing with the little Cooper S !
I owned a 1970 cooper s back in the day, it gives me great pleasure to watch you drive it ,but then i watch everything that Chris drives
My first car was a 1960 mini 850. and I thrashed it mercilessly. Loved it. Since then I have had a further 6 Mini's, and loved all of them.
Absolutely amazing from top gear, and a master class from Chris, nick swift and the rest of the pack and engineers. Motorsport at its finest
Love this kind of videos by Chris!
And I want a Mini
You really gotta love the UK for their love of motorsports :)
Yeah…we’re a funny bunch over here …we don’t have the space to race like say in Oz or Stateside so no huge Baja races etc….but we do love our ‘motors’/ motorsports so make up for it with these sorts of shenanigans lol 🇬🇧…if you haven’t watched it yet, check out BTCC (British Touring Car Championship races) from the 1980s and before….pretty much all the road going cars our mums and dads drove, yet racing around the tracks across the country…lots of ‘rubbing’ etc hahahaha
I'm sorry to hear about your mother, it's a beautiful way to honour her and it's so lovely that you got share her love of cars and racing. I love my mini and they really are fantastic around a track, I would urge everyone to try it.
Mini has always been one of my most favorite cars.. It has so much character and very Britain, Cheers
Sorry to hear of your loss. Love the enthusiasm you bring to your vids
Now this is how you film a race! I love he commentary taking us through the lap! Excellent as always sir!
Sorry Chris, I hope you feel better about what happend. God bless your mum👍🙏
Big up to Chris's mum. We had Minis when I was growing up in France. Love 'em to bits!
Ah man, Brought a tear to my eye.
Do it for Mam!
Sending all my love, you are my favourite car guy!
A masterclass in motoring videos. Brilliant!!
Brilliant film, that is what Mini’s were made for-racing, and Chris is the best journo around to appreciate them. Respect for continuing with this so soon after loosing your mum Chris, but what a brilliant tribute to her. I am old enough to remember Gerry Marshal monstering an 850 mini around Brands Indy circuit and setting the outright 850 lap record-anyone who remembers Gerry will know he was a BIG man......
One of the most enjoyable videos I’ve seen in a while. Thanks @topgear.
In absolute awe of your driving, the way the video is shot....everything! My deepest sympathy regarding your mum Chris, i'm sure she is mega proud of you.
Condolences on your loss Chris, your mum sounds amazing!
Great video too. I had a mini as my first car and always dreamt of a proper cooper s with moustache grill, external door hinges and 10” wheels. Still do! Looked great fun and I just want one even more now!
The step by step lap was beautiful to see and hear. You have to do more like that! Awesome video
Sorry for your loss Chris. Another awesome video, I consume all your stuff. Please keep it up 🙏👍
Great video. It's always a pleasure to see a Mini. It's even better when you see a group of them out showing what they're made of. :) Much love from across the pond.
The way they dance around the corners is absolutely beautiful.
Condolences for your loss Chris. Amazing you were together enough to be able to do this. Fair play to you.
Love the Mini!! Driving one as a daily so really nice to see you putting good work into racing it! ❤️
Well doneChris, your always a pleasure to watch.
Always blown away by the cinematography of Top Gear videos, oustanding working. Also my condolences Chris, your mum sounded like an amazing woman.
There's a tear in my eye...
I love this video! Anytime I am actually in my garage, or if its an early morning right before I head to the track, I love watching this video as it puts me in good spirits. Thank you Chris and Top Gear for being a Legend
Love Chris Harris videos and love the Mini! After 2 false starts my first car was a 1976 Mini that, after 4 engines ended up with a 1300cc Metro engine. The best way I could describe an 18 year old me drive it was “fearless”! Great fun. It started my car obsession. I have a tuned R53 Cooper S now as a toy and it reminds me of my original car albeit more portly. So sorry to hear about your mum Chris, take care.
This is TG. Chris doing what he loves and doing it well. It doesn't need celebrities. Chris you are in my prayers.
Condolences Chris, but what a way to remember. Been reading and watching your work for years. You really are top of the game in motoring journalism
All the best at this time Chris..keep on driving!
04:00 - You can see Chris rare emotion there, quickly back to talking Minis. Hang in there mate.
I have never driven a Mini but DAMN - it looks so fun! I had to smile so much just watching Chris dance the Mini around the circuit
Sorry to hear about your mum, can’t fault her taste in cars. What a great way to honour her memory. All the best to you and your family
Brilliant. I've really enjoyed Swift's tussles with all the big cars over the years of Goodwood videos. Very sorry for your loss, Chris.
Chris Harris gentleman and genius.
I’ve been privileged to follow you from your Autocar days; a truly inspirational and talented journalist and driver.
You make it look easy. But like all mega talented people that’s undoubtedly because you work so hard whilst also being the bloke at the bar in the local who’d happily chat about anything. I remember a very early video of yours where you were “analysing” which shoes to wear for a first drive and that’s before you drove and F40 against an F50. As I said....genius.
I don’t know you or your your family but hearing about your mum’s passing brought tears to my eyes. I have no other words other than to offer my condolences. It’s wonderful to hear that she raced minis. Mother and son. X
Apologies on the loss of your mother chris your my absolute favorite automotive journalist, racing driver and you seem to be a great gearhead and all around human being, I'm glad you did the same thing I did when I lost my brother and went out and raced in their memory
Condolences Chris, ‘If I doubt flat out!’ Awesome video!
Sorry to hear about your mom Chris. Hope you get over your loss soon. We're all here for you. ♥️
That was just glorious. I wish this type of thing was justifiable to put on the TV show, or even Extra Gear. It deserves the biggest audience it can get. Best wishes to you and your family, Mr. Harris.
Sorry for the loose of your Mom Chris. I've always enjoyed your video's & now that I know that your Mom had an influence in your love of cars & racing, I want to say a belated...Thank You Mrs. Harris!
My condolences Chris. I love old minis they look great being thrown around!
So sorry to hear with the loss of your Mum.
Epic racing.
teared up a bit. chris seems like a true stand up guy. these videos are incredible
Condolences Harris. My dad had two minis back in the 80’s. Might get one myself.
Sorry for your loss, Chris. Awesome video as always.
Beautiful video thanks so much for a nostalgic look at the best small car ever made.
WOW ! I can't believe your Mum raced minis! That's so cool! She musta been mighty proud of you boy. I'm sure she's dearly missed. Much love from Canada! :)
Possibly one of your best videos. Certainly my favourite.
My condolences Chris. I don't suppose you read these but it struck me as an interesting coincidence coming from our favourite automotive reviewer... my mother passed away on March 1st and she had two original minis, which kick-started my love of cars at a very early age. Thanks for all the very informative and enjoyable videos. Cheers from Ontario, Canada!
Sorry to hear about your mum, Chris. Fond memories of Goodwood with my dad and uncle. Great racing, as ever. Best wishes
On another channel I heard how awesome the Mini Race was....super cool to finally see some of it!
Of course condolences to you and your family for your loss.
Sorry to hear about your mum Chris. What can I say. My dad owned three Cooper S in the 1960s including an almond green 1275. Love the stance of these race cars on 10 inch Minilites. Chris, best car journo on the telly/internet/thing. Neil: beautifully shot and edited. Next level stuff.
Seeing the minis flying through the last chicane was absolutely amazing. The finish of the race was even better, the winner being decided on the last corner!
Sorry to hear about your mother Chris. Huge amount of respect for sharing to us all. Keep your chin up pal 👊🏾
My Mini has a 1220(998 - small bore, long stroke) engine, drives like a dream ...and is willow green too :)
Awesome video, love minis and it's great to see Chris do a video with them. Keep the videos coming! Sorry to hear about your mum.
My condolences on losing your mum Chris, but what a way to remember her! You sir are one of the best drivers with a natural talent to bring out the best in anything with four wheels, long may it continue!
Condolences. I was at MM 77 watching from inside the chicane - awesome.
Now that was a fantastic video! You can just feel the enjoyment through the screen
