  • In this tutorial I will break up one of the most awesome movement exercises - the helicoptero and introduce drills you can use to learn this super cool acrobatic skill. The helicoptero is seen in tricking, parkour, capoeira, contemporary dance, break dance and other dance styles as well as new age circus and other movement scenes.

    Fantastic approach to the exit of the move. So far always hit and miss with my hips collapsing in the end, that I ended up squatting. Will give this version a try tomorrow :) Thanks a million for this video....with a good laugh at the end

    Great tutorial! I can land fairly easy with 2 legs in one of the drill you showed and sometimes with just the leading leg but i find it very difficult to land in just the non leading leg. Is it a matter of pure practice or lack of shoulder pushing strength when arm is extended/ lack of back bend? Any ideas, tips, isolated drills on how to overcome this? Thank you very much.

    • @Sondre_Berg
      @Sondre_Berg  Před 3 lety +1

      From what you are describing it can be any of the following: lack of push out chest and shoulder. You can work this strength by doing one arm bridges (with legs elevated). It can be lack of bridge flexibility (it's a very beneficial to have a good bridge. I will post a tutorial for the thoracic bridge). It can be that your heli is too long, in which case you should work on shortening it. Hoping this helps :)
