He's a caring adoptive parent to the triplets, a fighter who will protect his family, and is always worrying about the kids rather than himself. Heck, he went to a therapist to get a hold of his anger issues because he wanted to be the best adoptive parent he could be.
@@Dan-qy6zv Actually Ducktales 2017 _didn't_ treat him as well as it should've especially compared to how they exaggerated the abilities of most of the newbies. Yes, he had some badass scenes but his bad luck was too cringey and humiliating which somewhat negated his badass scenes and when not even his newbie sister who's supposed to share his bad luck got treated that way. (And his portrayal in the DT17 comics is even more inaccurate and cowardly, a huge downgrade from the Carl Barks comics). Donald was always a fighter and always loved his family despite their fights.
But DT17 in general just changed way too much of the source material and exaggerated most of the newbies' abilities and roles while downgrading those of the canon characters. And it changed three established family dynamics just to elevate newbie Webby even above Scrooge's actual canon relatives: Donald, Della, and HDL. I liked some of DT17 but they didn't do a good job of giving credit where it was actually due in terms of the canon characters from the Carl Barks comics.

Quick update! I saw another comment say that they did actually continue the shorts! They’re just only available on Disney+ now
These shorts exist as such an antithesis to what Disney usually depicts Mickey as, its so great to see them go wild and unwind again with the group.
If I didn’t know any better I’d think they were a really well done fan series since they are so unhinged
It's not exactly for children though, more for 15-30 year olds. Which is a little ridiculous to me. And I hate the pop culture refrences, and the original showcases for the cartoon had the same amount of character with Mickey talking, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Minnie, occasionaly Claribel and more. And the animation was fantastic, not grotesque like this, also I never want to see fake Korean type anime in a disney show...how is this Disney, there are clearly dirty jokes in it too.

A thing that I find really cool is this is technically the first time Oswald the Lucky Rabbit has made an appearance in a modern Disney cartoon. Granted, he only has a couple of cameos, he hasn’t really been in anything modern besides the Epic Mickey games.
