    Karnataka can be a reliable state for BJP just like Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. People are willing to accept it as a good alternative to the regional parties but BJP is ignoring the state like an arrogant gf/bf. Party infighting, ignoring good candidates, irregularities in ticket distribution etc are few of many problems plaguing the party in the state and also stopping them from getting complete majority ( BJP never got full majority unlike Congress). The high command of BJP doesn't seems to be interested in fixing the issues. Karnataka is the only state in south of India where BJP, the national party, is being accepted ( lok sabha seat tally since 2009 to 2019 is 19/18/26 respectively).

    For the Congress party in the long run - they need to redefine the minority definition and give the assembly seats and parliament seats candidates tickets in round robin fashion - mcj (muslim,christian,jain) or mcs (muslim,christian,Sikh). This will avoid them pitting against the bjp as the hindu vs muslim resulting in the clear polarization. So the next time tumakuru assembly seat ticket should be given to a christian candidate in 2028 and a Jain candidate in 2033 and a muslim candidate in 2038 assembly elections. This will be convincing for the hindu voters also to consider the Congress party as the third muslim league after the original muslim league and the IUML of Kerala.

    In Karnataka, there has been a churn since the last assembly polls. BJP-JDS have formed an alliance to counter the Congress party. It is also a battle of social alliances. BJP-JDS symbolises the coming together of dominant groups lingayats and vokkaligas. Congress on the other hand has stitched an AHINDA coalition which won them the state elections in a historic way. It mainly comprises minorities and backwards groups which includes Dalits as well. The coming together of BJP-JDS may also lead to counter consolidation of this social grouping. But politics as always is not easy and straightforward. We cannot discard the factionalism within the state BJP and Congress internal power play. Not to mention the battle of relevance the gowda parivar faces among its own voter base and bastions. There are many variables,interplay of caste,local issues and ambitions of leaders. The BJP after facing a drubbing in the assembly polls is making a return to its old style communitarian,lingayat,mutt based politics and banking heavily on its stalwart yedurappa. This dramatic shift is a break from the hindutva politics that was uncomfortable with the Karnataka voters. But the other reason is left unresolved i.e factionalism. Yedurappa is calling the shots in ticket selection, high command has approved his sons promotion (one is the state BJP chief and other is the leader of opposition) which is making countless others in the party uncomfortable and uneasy. BJP has also denied tickets to Hindutva poster boys. Congress meanwhile wanted their sitting state ministers to test political waters. But they got tickets for their sons and daughters rather than contesting themselves. The electoral results will decide their fate in the state cabinet. Jds struggling with political decline, oblivion and fighting for relevance has unfortunately become more dependent on the first family. Many leaders have deserted the outfit after its poor showing in the last state polls. It has a caste to show for aspirations and family to show as representation to the voters. It is also facing a challenge to retain its own votebank from dk Shivakumar and his family(they are also vokkaligas ,the core base of jds). Hoping to reap some gains from Modi's popularity might be one such idea dominating the minds of party managers while announcing the alliance. Dynastic politics or parivarwaad remains a favourite talking point,political punching bag and a way of deriding opponents. But in Karnataka all are hand in glove to put all their stakes on "parivar" in a highly consequential election. Contradictions pave the way for clarity.

You are only talking looking at the what can be seen at the very very broader view perceived by reading about Karnataka politics on Google. Never Karntaka can be a survival struggle for BJP. And Vokkaliga is not totally towards DKS. It's HDD who is still the real picture of Vokkaliga. In last election (2019) Congress gained with JDS alliance and tried to finish JDS by bringing in JDS leaders to Congress with sheer money power for 2023 assembly elections. This time around it backfires Congress very badly

    • @tejovikasp
      @tejovikasp Před 15 dny +1

      @@IAmSaiM Congress had alliance with JDS in 2019 lokasabha elections. It was Congress and JDS coilation government in the state. After that Congress gained vote share because they bought the same JDS leaders to contest on Congress ticket. For example you take Mandya, today Mandya has 7 Congress MLA vs 1 for JDS out of 8 seats. But the ground reality is out of that 7, 5-6 are from JDS only that switched sides to Congress in this assembly elections and these are the primary reason that made sure Nikhil votes were transferred to independent in the previous election

    • @tejovikasp
      @tejovikasp Před 15 dny +2

      @@IAmSaiM I am never ignoring 2023 elections. If you want you just see how the state voted in assembly vs Lokasabha in the past 4 terms starting from 2004 even when Congress came to power twice at the centre. Even in the 2023 assembly elections, in spite of BJP getting just 66 and Congress getting 135 the vote share of BJP which it received in 2018 assembly election is near 100% intact with 36% vs 36.2% in 2018. So it's JDS who lost the vote share because of the same turncoats who ditched the party and the introduction of freebies and the Vokkaliga CM, all these 3 combined dented the JDS vote share and was gained by Congress. And even in this it is the Muslim vote share of JDS that was most dented as they shifted towards Congress. Also there was no strong CM face for BJP and BSY was sidelined in the wrong time and this dented Lingayat votes to an extent too and in spite of all this BJP still achieved the vote share of 36% in the state elections.
      Now with BSY back to the driving seat, JDS alliance and JDS having a direct fight with DKS for the Vokkaliga vote share, Raga vs Namo and not Bommai vs Siddu / DKS and the trend of Loka voting pattern vs Assembly voting pattern of the state even when strong Congress govt at the centre.
      With all this you know who is having a edge, or even more to have a say in the Loka elections this time around.
