Airbus A321NEO // Crosswind Flight Tests // Takeoffs, Landings, Touch-and-Gos

- On July 06, 2016 the Airbus A321neo prototype D-AVXA stopped by at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport (XFW) for some testing and performed some landings, takeoffs and touch-and-go landings. The winds were quite strong that day, around 35 kts ... so it was challenging to film.

War auf jeden Fall die richtige Entscheidung hinzufahren, als ich gesehen habe, dass der aus Toulouse kommt. Eine tolle Finkenwerder Airshow :-D Ich hätte das Ganze aber gerne nochmal bei besseren Bedingungen. Bei Windstärke 8 kommt man beim freihändigen Filmen doch arg an die Grenzen. Gruss aus Hamburg :)

Fantastisch Aufnahme. Toll zu sehen wie der Wind das Flugzeug zum Wackeln bringt und es so aussieht als würde der Flieger in der Luft stehen beim Landeanflug 👍🏻

No problem! I find that the engines are just the right size for the airframe, and I now find the engines of the A320ceo are really puny.

Das war wirklich ein Glückstag. Als ich gesehen habe, dass der aus Toulouse kommt, bin ich einfach mal hingefahren. War dann natürlich super, dass der so ein tolles Programm geboten hat.
Sowas wird auch nicht in Farnborough geboten ;-)

Klasse Anflüge!!! Echtes Pilotentraining ;-)) Genau richtig, bei solchem Wetter sich mal an die Landebahn zu stellen! Bis zum Jahresende gibt es bei uns nun die Auslieferungsrallye...der Rückstand wird gnadenlos aufgeholt! Also viele Flugzeuge zum Testflug. Gruss DrDuu
Das klingt ja gut - dann wird es in Finki ja noch einiges zu sehen geben. Dann muss nur noch das Wetter mal wieder besser werden, damit das Filmen wieder mehr Spaß macht. Gruß aus Hamburg :)

Granville Heights That is correct and currently still stands. Boeing is so concerned that they recently annouced the 737 Max 10 which has the same passenger capacity as the A321Neo but less range.

Tolle Aufnahmen vom A321 NEO. Suchen die sich eigentlich extra jedes mal für die Test so extremes Wetter aus? Entweder war bisher immer Wind, Regen oder beides. :-)
Herzlichen Dank! Das halte ich für gut möglich, dass die wegen des Wetters hergekommen sind. Wäre ja sonst nicht unbedingt nötig gewesen, bei so fiesen Bedingungen in Hamburg zu fliegen.

Its definitely no 757...but much sharper looking than the 737-900.

Ja, der A321 hat was mit den großen Triebwerken. Ende des Jahres sollen dann voraussichtlich auch die ersten Exemplare in Kundenlackierung fliegen. Mal schauen, ob das klappt.
Ich hoffe es für Airbus.

Interesting statistics, but the MAX just made its debut last week at Farnborough... give it time :)
+Canadian Plane Spotter most of the worlds largest airlines have bought the neo. There aren't many airlines left to buy the max

Don't get me wrong............I'm a big Airbus fan.
It's way better than the older a321 versions........
But to be honest,.....also this brand new a321neo still isn't as good as the 757.
The 757 isn't replacable..........not by this beautiful a321neo,....and not at all by the 737max....
The only plane who's comes really really close, and is even better on some points is the Russian Tupolev 204/214.
I really love that plane btw.............
I think Boeing have to develope a slimmer shaped 787 based aircraft to give the great 757 a worthy successor......
