Mainly for cancer screening for people with a family history of cancer. To identify any colonic source of bleeding via the back passage. Chronic constipation, abdominal pain, colonic mass on CT scan etc.

Doctor ..enaku ILEUM part varikum check pananum. so anaesthetia podannum nu doctor sonaaru.. Why they recommending me anaesthetia?. Is that so painful?

Anaesthesia may not be absolutely necessary, if you can manage mild discomfort.
We normally give mild sedation so that you are comfortable during the colonoscopy all the way upto the ileum.
Some centres will insist on anaesthesia as a policy.
